#Rope crafting

No it’s right. They changed it for some reason. It used to only be 60 stone 😭
I don't understand why rope takes stone
You would think it would need fiber right???
I remember it used to take fiber. I have no idea when and why they changed it
I don’t know the last update on early access was 0.5? And it’s been stone since then, that’s when I started playing anyway
I played when it first launched in early access and noted it was fiber then. I played intermittently after (didn't want to burn out on it before launch), but never made rope so don't know when it was changed
I don't know when this changed, but I assume it was changed for the meta reason that you can farm stone in the mine itself and thus make rope while you're in there. I can see the meta logic but it is a bit jarring.
It's for this exact reason. Also, borrowing of the SDV mechanic of staircases which were 100 stone a piece to make which had the same purpose, they probably meant for it to mirror but didn't want it to be completely like the SVD like many things in the game since the game is inspired by SVD, Harvest Moon, and Rune Factory in some senses.
Totally understand why it’s somewhat necessary to make the stone turn into rope but it really ruins the full immersion for me, plus fiber is so easily available
ig but I do hope they change it back to fiber cause most people are not farming for stone in the caves when they start, they're looking for the hole to the next level
exactly
That would imply that you brought fiber down with you though. I actually prefer the stone craft because it means that when I'm struggling at floor 39 to find the hole and it's midnight I can just use all the stone I collected from searching to jump down
yep that's too expensive, A bomb that costs 50 is much more effective.
I bet they made it more expensive to balance it but I think 199 is too much
You wouldn't need to bring the fiber with you. Just make sure whatever chest it is in, is included in your global storage
Yes but that's still preparation. If for whatever reason you don't have any fiber before you go in, there is no way to make more while you're down there, unless they would add a drop but then that would be another thing in your inventory on top of everything else
But you need rocks for a lot of crafting in the early game and for decorating your farm too, I don’t want to waste that much rock on rope. Whereas fibers is very easy to find and not necessary right away. Even if there’s preparation it makes more sense for rope to be fiber. You also don’t want to constantly mine rock in the early parts of the game because of stamina so it really isn’t that feasible to use rock for rope down in the caves
The way I see it, the rope just makes things easier, it's not supposed to help you blitz the mines or else that entire quest line is over in like, a day. I think 199 is too much but I think even for immersion sake I prefer rocks for utility sake. If you're in the mines, all you have is rocks so they build up pretty fast as well
