#1.0 Release - save file Q
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
It's true. The devs have said that 1.0 is so different from the current version that trying to keep current farms will cause a lot of issues. While we can't keep our current farms, the devs have said that we will be able to reset the file and retain all money made on the farm, even if we can't preserve progress or decoration.
I am....broken. Thanks so much for confirming though- much appreciated!
Yeeeeah still majorly sucks, i should have looked into release details more before going hardcore with the game the last 2 months🥲
This wasn't released until 2 weeks ago so you wouldn't have known. Don't beat yourself up cuz now you can do it again but better 😄
Oh okay so im not crazy haha, coulda sworn i never saw these details! Thanks for the info and support- makes me feel a bit better😂🧡
Yeah it was a big ball they dropped.
For people who had files from before .5 dropped- most of their game ended up broken and the easiest fix is to just wipe 100% and start over. Stuff just wasn't integrating like they wanted (is my solid guess for the big reason)
They've also said a lot has changed (so probably new altar requirements and maybe new rewards there)
It's the risk of EA
But you're not crazy at all. We only just learned this info
Thank god I got the game via game pass otherwise I would request a refund. Just imagine cleaning all that trash in the ocean again and levelling up the skills… makes me shudder.
Actually it was known since the beginning that world progress was going to be reset - it was all in the FAQ. They were going to try and save the farm layout itself as well but that sadly didn’t work out.
No. They said their goal was to not need to reset at all.
This is from the FAQ
So just to be clear- they will not be honouring any of it except the gold?
Yes, cumulative gold you’ve earned ingame will be brought over if you use the NewGame+ option but that’s all
Lol I dont even care about the gold uggh. The altar progress reset is killing me.
I'm well aware what It says. Our goal is to maintain your save file as we update the game. There is not a single thing that states 1.0 has a wipe. They have NEVER said they were wiping.
yeah that sucks 😦 at least this time you'll have a heads up on how to get everything?
Yeah for sure. I just keeping looking at it now like well at least i know what things to hop on sooner that i delayed ie- upgrading crop qualities. That made every difference that i learned a bit too late
With that being said. I'm not arguing as I know I'm correct in what I have said and am moving on
....Did you not read the 2nd half? "some updates will change the game and all progression data will be reset"
okay bye
oh yeah, quality and tool upgrades will be my #1 priority
Yeah especially the hay- hay quality 100% first. The animal production was unreal in the shipping bin by the end, my god!
lol exactly, all profit with little work!
So one last thing then- if i were to just basically farm gold right now, all of that would carry over? Lol
yupyup! can even hold off on upgrading right away if you wanted to. I think they're letting you play your EA save until February
arly Access Testing Branch
For Steam players who’d like to check in on the farms they created during Early Access, a pre-v1.0 test branch of the game in its final Early Access state will be available on Steam from November 14, 2023 until February 1, 2024. To access it, follow these steps:
Right-click Coral Island in the left menu of your Steam Library, then select “Properties” from the contextual menu.
In the new window that appears, click the “Betas” menu, enter the password “EarlyAccess” in the field under “Private Betas”, and click “Check code”.
If entered properly, you will now be able to select “Coral Island - Early Access Testing branch” from the drop-down menu above, next to “Beta Participation”. Doing so will install the Early Access Testing version and replace the main version of Coral Island.
There, you’ll be able to continue playing your Early Access farms until February 1, though please note that we won’t be updating this version of the game, and that you will have to select the main version of Coral Island from this same menu to play the v1.0 and up.
Warning: If a new save is created in v1.0 that overwrites the old save, that save can no longer be played on the Early Access Testing branch.
Oooooh my god yes. Thanks so much for that info, i havent seen any of this!
I'm so sad oh my god. I just decorated my farm
Same🥲
Finally cleaned it up and rearranged the entire layout. I was broooken.
And imagine cleaning all that trash again 🥲 and collecting needed items for the greenhouse and barn updates? my god
I am truly beside myself. I am not having a great time coping so you definitely aren't alone. I'm just trying to keep my sanity together at this point and be excited that i can hop on things quicker now that i've learned with mistakes going thru the first time😂
I want to ask.. i couldnt even understand what will happen after v1.0 update... i just want to ask.. should i sell everything in my inventory/chests/storage before the update? Or keep it? Pls help..
Great question!!! I was wondering the exact same and was planning to do it (closer to the update/when it comes) in case they surprise us with anything carry over-related.
Here they recommend to do it
