Greenhouse Questions

Hihi ! I finally unlocked the greenhouse (yay !) but I am trying to plant sapling in it, and I'm getting a "cannot use item here" prompt everytime I try and plant one. My only experience with planting any sort of sapling is just with the planting tree event a few seasons back. Do I need to build some type of fence structure to grow them??

I've also seen people grow giant crops; I'm curious about this too but my first concern is the weird sapling issue :')

So i haven't tried placing any saplings in the greenhouse but from what i hear i think you are currently not able to plant trees in it. I assume frui plants should be fine though.

as for the giant crops i think it works the same as in stardew - you need at least 9 crops of the same species to have grown in a 3x3 square. It's luck based and only a few crops can do it. I know that pumpkin and cauliflower can grow into giant crops but i know there should be more

awh dang, I was super banking to be able to use fruit trees in the greenhouse otherwise I would've hopped on that way sooner gghgh 😭 i couldn't decide on a farm layout so I didnt' wanna plant tree yet but. Guess I'll hop on that ASAP haha

i mean maybe they will add the tree planting in the greenhouse in the future but hey - fruit trees don't die so even if you plant them outside all you have to do is wait for their respective season and they'll bear fruit anyway

That's how i made a fruit forest on my farm haha

as for the giant crops i managed to get you this screenshot from the wiki - it's more reliable than my info

yeaaah, it's moreso I just get real whacky about like "ohgod if I don't like where I placed this tree i gotta wait a whole month for it to grow again let alone get the fruit" gghgh

planting trees in farming games is usually the absolute last thing i do; it's a problem LOL

oh dang, so you don't get to actually harvest a giant crop ?

no no you do

but you need to leave your crops unharvested first

and there's a 5% chance to get a giant crop

and if you do - you can harvest it with an axe

and it will drop like 20ish of that crop

i think i'm confused by the "each giant crop will yield 17 to 21 regular sized crops" like

so you don't actually get an item that is. Specifically named Giant Strawberry or something like that ?

from a giant strawberry you will get 20ish ordinary strawberries

hmmhmhm i guess i shrimply donut care to have even more littel crops,,,

but they are cool aesthetically, just not something i'd use greenhouse space for

it's like instead of 9 strawberries you will get 20

i have strawberries in my house but i don't leave them unharvested and this isnt a problem

also giant crops will destroy the plants they produced them so it's more worth it to try with like cauliflower or potato or starfruit or like something that doesnt regrow
