Game wont load save after crashing

Hii, I was loading up my save then the game crashed/Steam ended up updating. Reloaded the game, went to my save to see it said "New Game"... I followed the forum thread on getting the save file back from %appdata%, moved it back to the correct file. Loaded the game, still nothing. Backed up the save as well, and also onto my external. Uninstalled the game & reinstalled. Loaded the game & it still says "New Game" when I can see my save file from last night in the file. Im confused on how to get the game to actually load my file so I can play it? 😦

Was this a beta save file or main branch?

Can you try taking your save file out of the location and placing it on your desktop or somewhere. Then start a new save, after a day, save and close out the game. Replace that save with yours.

Yeah I had tried that yesterday along with backing it up to my external. I can try that again?

I didn’t see you mention starting a new game and replacing the save, if you w already tried that, maybe mention the issue in bug or crash channel and see if mods can help you

it was hours after I posted which why it wasnt mentioned, Ive been watching videos and reading the forums about this. My last try was around 11pm last night. I thought the mods also respond to this channel or I wouldve posted there 😦 Thank you for responding and trying to help.
