tried to do a bunch of different manual recipes and it wont even let me click 'cook' even though i have full energy and the right ingredients. is anyone else having this problem?

Try deselecting the cooking method and see if it works. For example, if you want to grill, deselect the grill
It's a bit confusing to explain but I hope you get me lol

To briefly expand on what Roach said, cooking is a bit buggy right now. They know and it will be fixed.

It's also very exploitable rn. If you have one fly, you can make 999 bug jerkies (jerkys?) if you have the time to do that

I have this problem too.
The only way I fix it (and it barely fixes.)
At the end of the day, get all the stuff you need to cook in your inventory.
Sleep.
Quit the game.
Restart the game.
You will be able to cook, initially when you first interact to cook, if you stop cooking at anytime... It won't work again until you restart the game.
