Twice now i’ve opened the early access and tried to load into the game, first time I made a character and loaded in which is when it froze and now the second time it froze again after clicking on the save file to load it.
Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Are your PC specs in line with or over the required limit? Also can you try lowering the graphics settings and seeing if that helps? Or maybe closing some background programs?

My PC is relatively new (got it a few months ago) and I have nothing open in the background
Tried creating a new character and it froze again
I lowered the graphics to low and it did load in though I don’t understand why thats an issue as my PC should be more than capable of handling the high graphics
Okay so it seems its a memory issue which I don’t really understand, is there a way to fix this? Or am I just gonna be stuck playing on lower graphics?

I'm sorry, I don't understand too much about the tech side of things so maybe someone else can help but the game is still continuing to be optimized so ideally it will run better as future updates are pushed out

Do you happen to know how much RAM your computer has?

And the memory % in task manager is under 80-90% or so?

That is weird, I'm not sure then 😥 I guess this must be an optimization issue

Perhaps something for the devs to look into.
I’ll also mention that my game has frozen three times in the middle of playing so far causing me to have to restart. Probably same memory problem but I’m not sure as it only mentioned running low on memory the last time it crashed in the task manager (despite being only at 60% half of which was being used by coral island)

I had the same, I closed all other apps like browsers, Spotify, discord etc on my pc and lowered the graphic settings all to low and then I could load into the game. Hopefully it'll work for you too!

Downloaded the game today and I am also having this issue. On one laptop it just got stuck after character creation for about 30mins and my laptop wouldn't respond at all. Downloaded it on a different one that usually runs games better and is pretty empty, character creator ran more smoothly but still having the loading issue. On this laptop it would close after about 5 minutes and give me the option of send a crash report, which was an improvement at least. I tried running as admin and in windowed mode but that didn't make a difference.
I will try the suggestion above about lowering graphics and see if that makes a difference for me

@dreamy shale how was it? Have you try lowering the graphics? Cause I'm having the same issue now

I put everything on lowest and it still crashes before loading in
Haven't managed to play yet, I'm just hoping that there's a patch soon that will fix it

I just tried to play for the first time today and had the same issue as well, even setting all the graphics to low 😦 Has anyone heard back from them directly about it?

I have been told in another thread that you need to have a dedicated graphics card. So that seems to be the issue for my laptop and it does not have a dedicated one. I dont know what your specs are
