There's some ash on the dragon cus it's used for insense 😂
But I usually just store em in the dragon bowl
I mean who doesn't need a dragon bowl right? that's rad
The set on the top right was my first set
Then all the others came from CR themed bath bombs
Ones scanlan ones Caleb and one was just a cherry set
And the pinky orange one I'm not sure what bathbomb theme that was
CR themed bath bombs??
they actually explode
What that's so cool
no I don't know I was just joking hahahah
just if we look at CR's history of making bombs......
stares in Victor
fluffernutter is another example 🤣
hahahaah
They are just coloured and the dice fit the cr characters

i am shamed to say my most recent warlock is both
edgiest edgeboy ive made
twas so edgy that the character i made afterwards was the dragonborn barbarian who baked snacks for her party and gave dragon plushies to poor children while grumpily telling her party that arguing is bad and putting the argumentative PC's in the corner to think about what theyve done.
Wholesome barbarians. I love it
That's just a thing in every existence ever
The Books: Barbarians are gritty, serious warriors who live for blood and battle.
The Players: This is Mother/Himbo/Protector of the Smols
.> Shed bake anger cookies and thats how shed go into a rage by eating an anger cookie
also anyone remember the time jester talked to a flower?
You mean Henry Crabgrass? 🤣
the best of the crabgrasses
oh you know zorth
Henry Crabgrass needs to be framed and revered as the precious bean he is
and if you dont know zorth you should definitly look em up
he made taliesin lose his composure
in fairness that's not exactly hard xD
and made the rest of the party fall into hysterics
Ohhhh, the guy they got the moorbounders from!
Tal's always up for a good laugh
I don't think Percival could cast Speak with Plants?
Easily the best NPC ever made

yeh
It's fuzzy in my head but there was something involving plants
you know what's one of my favourite moments in both campaign
Do tell
Keg sneaks out, but she leaves letters for Nott and Beau.
Keg was telling the truth when she told Nott she never went to school. But she gets her point across.
Footage from Critical Role Campaign 2 Episode 30: "The Journey Home"
Subscribe if you want to see more of my Critical Role compilation vids as they are released.
Critical Role now als...
I love her so much
stil my favourite Marisha reaction
like
ever.
cept maybe when she goes notebook goblin
i can never forget the goldfish swandive
ok no but that's just CR legend at this point 🤣
like a gentle fart, you push against the cliff wall
The thing that had me roaring in laughter was hearing them talking about the absolute clusterfuck of bad luck that is Will Wheaton with his dice and every dice he touches, like reverse Taliesin magic...and I understood why when they invited him to play
and Matts absolute refusal to touch anything Will has touched
people ask me what I love about Critical role, and as we get into the higher numbered episodes of Campaign 2 I cannot stop myself from laughing at this line all the time:
The answer is yes
"Tusktooth, why don't you have any tusks?"
Pfft
I swear, every single time the others introduced Fjord as such every NPC must've gone "where the hell is the tusks!? why doesn't he have tusks!?"
he does
Fjord went from "Yes sir, she'll be home by 10pm sharp" to "yhe, she calls me Captain"
It was nice to see that they worked on helping him through his self consciousness
You say that like he won't also get her home by 10pm sharp
oh he still would
And the time he put a down payment on a brothel worker XD
Fjord is like, a fucking gentleman
and he is fully fucking aware that her father and mother both could and would have him killed if anything happened to her
I guess all Fjord needed to learn was some good ol' tusk love

Oh god. Boooooo
Get out of here
That had so much cheese in it that I'm gonna explode.
XD
...See, the Ruby of the Sea couldn't do that. She's just a courtesan. That said. She'll throw hands and she will win.
I mean, I do point to my Status, but that one is more cause it made me crackle
Courtesan or not, she knows people who'd do ANYTHING for her
but am I wrong
because, who would kill someone by themselves when they've got pretty much the entirety of Exandria wrapped around their little finger?
no, you are not, but
This convo is amazing
Today in D&D land. Player edition. My evil warlock who on the inside was ashamed of what he has done was slowly beginning to reach out for help from a guardian angel that he had been ignoring for ages and just as he was going to say help me please, the party barges in and tries an intervention and said that if he didn't repent and take on there religion that he would be there mortal enemy.
My warlock being in a vulnerable state and being of a defensive nature who reacts with aggression did not take hearing that well and has now shunned the opportunity for redemption because look at these people who are friends. They've threatened me.
https://c.tenor.com/LvWTk7mAkfsAAAAM/bb-can8-big-brother-canada.gif
Imagine your party threatening to murder you because you don't agree with them. Sigh.
It wouldn’t be the first time 😂
To be fair my warlock is a bad guy >.> So he kinda would deserve it.
I’ve had plenty parties and party members threaten to murder my characters 😂
Kinda murdered an angel of there faith who tried to kill em.
So it's understandable the religious party members would be
https://c.tenor.com/PqJsoGX4qOwAAAAM/angry-cat-noises-shout.gif
But it was so close. 🤏 To redemption arc.
Yhe...
My poor GM is trying to hold things together so the game doesn't explode. Bless his heart.
Gods talking d&d reminds me I gotta send my DM the backstory and shit for my character...
Oh? Do tell
We’re starting a campaign on the 11th with session 1 but I keep forgetting to translate and send the backstory to our DM 😂
Basically since the entirety of my party is in here: he’s a jaded ass fucker who made a pact with an eldrich being to gain power a long ass Time ago leaving him with a scimitar which he from time to time will talk to if he’s feeling lonely
On top of that he has spend like 2 years traveling around from town to town as a gladiator earning his keep
how was your day scimitar? Stab oh you don't say? Stab stab yeah I know what you mean.
Hexblade or warlock with a blade pact?
Hexblade
Gonna grab blade pact once we get there cause it’s really the only out of UA pact I enjoy right now
I took Eldritch aight thirsting blade and....the jump one I can't remember what it's called.
Surprisingly enough it's been so dang useful
Never realized just how much more interesting combat becomes when you can jump 30 feet up onto a ledge and pew pew down with a Eldritch bow.
Yhe, a lot of the pacts and boons are super fun to play, idk, I just prefer hexblades and blade pacts cause they can realistically fit with any race and any person
Like “oh I stumbled upon this awesome blade, it’s mine now” is a perfectly fine “this is how I got my pact” for the hexblades
I mean, my favourite pact is the Chain pact, if only because you get Gift of the Ever-Living Ones.
Also a dragon
Is that the one where you don't need to sleep anymore?
You can just stay awake 24/7
Oh dang it's automatic max healing when your familiar is near you.
Crazy stuff
Yup
It only costs 10gp and however long your familiar can stay alive.
especially helps since the one warlock I've played is a fighter dip
dragon familar is best familar
Is that from Dragon Stew by any chance???
Yes!
I love there book haha. Soon as I bought it I started using the cooking rules in my game.
Ahh awesome!! I backed Hexbound and am getting Dragon Stew I'm SO excited for it, and the art looks so good
I thought about getting hexbound but I couldn't help but wonder if my players would actually use it or not.
Oh that's fair! I have a pretty mixed bag of players, and at the very least I'll enjoy the NPCs and items haha. But I have 2 that are stoked for the witches and 2 that are stoked for cooks, so hey it works out! 😅
👀 I just noticed this channel
for our Bards out there:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nC3j-rof6I
Bards can do so much more then just "Seduce" people, they can also play the lute.

...
is the book like, used to play DnD? (im totally clueless)
Yeah it's a third party source book with rules on how to cook monsters for special effects, subclasses and creature stats for some creatures that are centered around the book theme.
oh nice. the designs got me intrigued
little fun fact
tiefling takes over the bloodline
so if say lets get an absurd combo uh
a tortle and tiefling have a kid
centaur tiefling
I mean, is there a difference
in forgotten realms
hey if the turtle and the tiefling both want to get it on 🤣
this is a tortle btw
there was a tortle in my 1st re-attempt into getting into dnd
its mostly like that in dnd but in forgotten realms its not according to the expansion books
Personally, I leave genetics to 50/50
so say you have a Tiefling and a Centaur, say bye bye to the human top and say hello to devil top
👀
that makes sense
he ended up having a paralyze skill that we now affectionately call "rufilin" now
to explain tiefling take over thing tho
due to a thing asmodeous did all tieflings take over the blood line
its gone over in 1 of the books series that takes place in forgotten realms
that's called magically dominant genetics
I think there's one other d&d race thats the same as tieflings
I just can't remember what it is
Where there genetics become the dominant traits
also yes this only applies in 5e and maybe 4e? i dont know my 4e lore but ik in 3.5 tieflings werent at that point yet
aasimar maybe?
No not aasimar. It'll come to me eventually
Also, I just got april fooled in a campaign.
oof
ok hot take from what ive seen no one really cares for it
rune fighter is the coolest fighter subclass
GM was like alright everyone we are doing a silly campaign to celebrate the day so roll up a level 7 character and give them 2 greater healing potions to start.
After everyone rolled up there characters he was like you all wake up in your rooms in a tavern that you had picked out the night before. At the foot of your bed stands a older gentleman with silver grey sideburns in a pink suit. He opens his mouth and softly says "April Fool's" and everything goes dark. End of campaign.
I was like .....oh you sum o beetch
And I feel like Eldritch knights need a little more love honestly. I can't help but feel like they were did a disservice.
I try to be something completely different every time I play
which is not as often as I'd like
That's understandable. I've played just about nearly everything now so sometimes I'll just roll in discord to figure out what race and class I'll play then I'll pick a subclass that I think would work with the personality I feel they'd have
its less abilties for me
more personality
for example
two of my favorite characters to play
ingstrom and storm
ingstrom was an 8 year old who made a pact with a devil named little timmy and she was very childish and not really the most helpful
storm on the other hand was a paragenasi orphan who was in love with changeling, they got captured as slaves by a group called the black rose, and in one of those come back and save me later momments she managed to escape. she was a hopeful person who kept losing the people she cared about
one of my favourites was when I played a 4 int Orc Barbarian
the party leaves one bandit alive to interrogate
Krugga had come around the back after chasing down and maiming another bandit
btw the reason i dont have a lot to say of her backstory is she started as a joke character
there was a cliff overlooking the camp
Krugga critically succeeds her attack roll on the remaining bandit and makes absolute mincemeat out of the supposed captive
My favorite was a Human Barbarian named Torne. He was on a platform atop a bottomless abyss that would be insta death.
There was this ledge he had to cross to find a chest around the corner and the GM was like roll acrobatics to keep your balance. I was like can he do it with athletics? To which he said nope. I said I bet you he can find a way to do it with athletics.
He said Bet and my character looked down at the abyss then at the ledge and he hopped off and grabbed it with his hands and started swinging himself across on the ledge despite the GM giving him Disadvantage on the rolls and making me roll 5 times to get over there and 5 more times to get back.
Was a priceless moment.
superbig kusa
I once played a demon outcast (more demon than tiefling basically) who was an alchemist
I detonated a beached whale corpse cause the town guard wanted to clear it out
I was the only person to succeed on a dex save to not get covered in whale guts
Lmao
That reminds me of the time a Tiefling player in my party was covered in rust monster guts because he was ambushed by a very friendly rust monster that climbed on his face for his Jewelry.
omg you just reminded me of another story from that same campaign
Lol
so kind of similar concept
except instead of a rust monster it was a giant monster frog that was lured by greed (because we definitely just robbed some incompetent bandits)
we manage to put it down
I'm stepping forward to take a sample of it
it gets back up and immediately leaps at us
DM says to make a dex save
I'm just like "can I make an attack instead"
cause it was leaping with its mouth open
and I had bombs
so I roll a 19 + bonus with my shrapnel grenade to get it right down the gullet
that time I did not manage to avoid getting covered in guts
Lol
a party of adventures enters a tavern;
or rather, 2/3rds of the party does, the last 2 members are religiously trying to fit through the averagely sized door
the last member apologising to the doorframe for making it groan slightly
Not sure if you've remembered at the moment but my friend and I were able to come up with a list of potentials: Genasi, Djinni, Gith, or Shifters?
He also enthusiastically added Kalashtar as soon as I sent that
lmao i think it might be Genasi
Djinni are a type of genie and I don't think Gith work that way?
lmao
The price may have gouged my eyes out but the dice stole my heart
God I'm weak for pretty dice goddamn
Holy Molly those ones
Technically Mollymauk is unholy.
the fun part is that it's holy moly, not molly
I had a friend in a dnd campaign who got successfully ambushed by a broom (twice) and scared by their own reflection to the point they destroyed the mirror for no reason. Also they got possessed by a ghost child who was so scared of everything they almost peed themselves
My chara was already possessed by an aged spirit so they were safe
How to protect against possession: Just possess someone else
Mine was possessed before birth because reasons so he was raised by the spirit (tho he didnt fully know it) since his parents were killed at a young age
Under a technicality he was still a child but either the oldest or 2nd oldest of the party
speaking of adorable dice
I jsut got me these 😄
mini lesbian pirate set
because joy still exists in this god forsaken world
DM: You guys had time to heal!
Player: Yeah, but not fully. We didn't take a long rest.
DM: smiles
the mind of a DM is a scary thing
It's even scarier if said DM is Matthew Mercer 😂
Also scary for sure
I'm not sure about Gith as well but we wanted to cover the bases, so anything that seemed fitting in the slightest aspect was thrown in
Bro I'm hella late but those arizona tea ones brought tears to my eyes
Oooo potion of healing dice
Forbidden cherry jello cubes
Would y’all recommend city of mist?
I've never played it. It looks interesting though. Reminds of shadowrun
Just modern instead of gritty futuristic
I might look up the rules and see about running it with my group if it catches there interest
If anyone's looking to join a dnd 5E game on Roll20 and discord, I'm running one on Friday evenings at 7PM CST!
I need about 2 players and I'd be happy to send you world lore stuff if you need!
Oof I'm two hours behind and work until 6pm on Fridays so I can't but tell everyone about the premise of your game? They might want to.
It's a very open world game. The current party has had a bit of bad luck. After winning a tournament and getting some gold they were abducted by mind flayers, and had parasites transplanted into their heads. They're trying to find a way to get them out but are also having to work while they do it since they aren't exactly rich. Very early in the game right now, only 3 sessions in. But we've got like 2 people who are leavign or not showing up so I'm looking fo rmore
Sounds interesting I hope you're able to find two people :)
Today In D&D Land! Easter edition. The city had an event where you chased and killed a giant modified rabbit. The rest of the party tried to kill it but went unconscious. My barbarian Dragonborn lady refused to kill the poor BunBun as it was called. She instead knocked it out, healed the two other party members and then proceeded to run into the forest with the large bunny over her head yelling "You can't kill BunBun!!!!"
d-dovahkiin?
This just in! After saving the Easter bunny, my dragon born discovers it is evil as it surprise attacks her in the forest and deals 80 points of damage in one round
Luckily my exhausted dragonborn caught it while it dive bombed her with a bunny hop.
She is about to Kinniku buster it.
Full disclosure, I took this from the hokutonogun subs, so go to their website if you wanna see the full episode
And now my barbarian Is dragonborn Louise
Perfect
I like the colors.
thanks! ill go ahead and finish creating it and use that one then.
Mhmm :) It's a really nice looking map.
thank yew ☺️
What are you making it using?
I use DungeonFog. Been using it for like a year now. theres a free version and a subscription version.
Some of the people in that community make amazing dang maps
like this person
when i saw it i was like whaaaaaat
I will have to check it out. I am always looking for new ways to make maps. That is fantastically done.
you can use the black and white version for flashbacks to that dungeon later in the campaign if you ever do, or flashback to the map in a future campaign
i mean there are many ways to use both, like if you have a character who is more or less is blind and only sees through sound you could have it be black and white cuz they aren't sure of what colors are
or you could have an enemy that 'eats' color
Ohhhhhh I like this I like this! I hear some people aren't able to see colors in there dreams either so I can see how I can use this color filter during dream sequences.
Thanks for the ideas!
there's any way you can spin it to make use of it. I mean the world is your oyster, you can create whatever it is you so wish. don't limit yourself to just "which color should i use" but "which set up is better depending on the situation."
because if you don't think outside the box you can't surprise your players
This works for me because one of my players tends to play edgy characters. Recently the party thought they were clever because when asked what reward they wanted from a list of options they instead picked the cheshire cat of holding that was transporting the options. Now it follows them around and holds there items for them. What they are unaware of is that it is an Eldritch aberration. It's offered to help the edgy cleric out of three messy situations in exchange for a snack of it's choosing when it feels hungry.
The edgy cleric agreed each time and made a deal. A string appeared on there pinky every time they made one.
I've had him roll a random Wis save which he failed and we continued as if nothing happened. He doesn't realize that this cat dominated his mind, had him do something terrible and then ate his memory as a snack.
The player hasn't realized his character has lost an entire afternoons worth of time despite me saying it's about 12 Pm right before the save and then after the save I said. You round the corner away from the city watch building you exited. The night is dark and the lanterns on the streets give off a warm glow as you head to the docks.
The people on the street kept backing away from him until one of them finally asked him if he was alright or needed medical attention and pointed at his armor.
When he looked down he saw blood on his hands and armor. He thought it was from the bleeding paladin he had saved before he left the city watch building. He made an excuse, disguised his armor and kept walking when he saw a bulletin board warning people that a murder happened at the docks and to be vigilant. He's worried he looks suspicious as hell and doesn't realize that it wasn't actually the paladins blood on him.
He later made a 3rd deal with the cat but despite me saying he now has a second string on his pinky he hasn't made the connection that 'wait....I already had 2...why do I have 2 again? What's going on?'
So in the upcoming memory scene if he ever recalls what happened or in the dream sequence where he has a nightmare recalling what he was made to do I'm gonna make the map black and white.
beautiful
i think i'd be great as a co-dm but actual dm is too hard because i dont know the mechanics well
so good
would you mind if i explained your idea to a dm friend of mine?
i think he'd really enjoy it
I thought much the same. I waited until I was comfortable enough with the game mechanics and then I said I'll never learn enough if I don't give it a shot.
What the brain dominating memory eating Eldritch Cheshire cat that they thought had no repercussions making deals with?
Go for it.
yes absolutely
ty for this snack
That is indeed what the cat said right before eating the memory.
Next memory he's going to eat is the edgy clerics memory of his mother.
Lmao

Lmao
The King: "oh fantastic you are back we are saved!"
Smirking one shot questers Bard: "Yup I did what you asked, I layed those dragons"
Confused king: "you slayed the dragons....."
Confused Bard: "I....layed the dragons?"
Increasingly traumatized king: "you....slayed the dragons?" He begs
Bard realizing the mistake made squeaks out "I...." Just as a half dragon pops outta nowhere.
So. I've been procrastinating on making this dungeon (dubbed the Daggerford Depths) but it's actually somewhat important that I make this, since it involves the backstory of one of my players. Basically, under the town of Daggerford, there's a secret tunnel that is supposed to be an escape tunnel from the keep in the middle of Daggerford. For reasons, the players have to use it as an entrance.
However, I'm struggling with the creation of it. I have a few things I know I want to do, but I also have very little idea as to what I want to do outside of that. Since there's actually very few servers I'm in that I don't share with one of my players, I've come here to poach ideas off of you lot, if you're willing 😅💦
I have notes regarding what I do have, if any of you guys are willing to help me on this.
Hit us baby one more time.
I don't quite know what you mean by that 😅
What do you know you want the dungeon to do and why does it matter to this player in particular. Is it a well known escape tunnel? Has parts of it collapsed? Did certain things take residence in it? Did an umber hulk excavate it's way in there and is it hungry? Will it start to actively stalk them.
We want the deets
So they have to go in through the exit to sneak into the fort?
Right. Well, it's not a well-known escape tunnel, no. As for purpose, it's essentially meant to be a point of transit/slow the party down. As far as they'll know, they might be attempting a prison break or something.
- Zone 3 is technically the entrance to the tunnel; that's where the players want to get; they entered from the other end.
- There are other doors on the map, but the marked doors are 'puzzles' - the door in Zone 4 is just some rocks that need clearing away.
- One of the blue dots that is not within the four zones will be a mimic. I haven't decided what the other one will be yet.
- Either the blue dot in Zone 4 or Zone 3 will be a particular character. The other one will simply not be there.
- Zone 2's trap is going to involve the water that is held behind the door being released, but I haven't figured out if the mechanism to open the real door will be behind it or not.
- After getting through the tunnel, the party will be facing off against a succubus, the sister of a party member (read as: level 1 bard with more HP) and a level 15 paladin. Both the sister and the paladin are under the succubus' control; I have yet to decide if other enemies will be present, due to the sheer power of this paladin.
It's a party of seven; barbarian, bard, cleric, druid, ranger, rogue, wizard. They're level 4.
Put a chest in a room on top of a carpet.
May I ask why?
The party will suspect the chest is a mimic without realizing the carpets the actual mimic.
Or a rug of smothering
Or a pit trap
Mimics are actually devious little creatures and they'll set things up to get one over other creatures
They don't know there's going to be a mimic ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Oh trust me
Everyone at some point goes
There's a chest I'm a catacomb In an escape tunnel
Not these guys 😂
I gave them a description of a room with holes in the mouths of the carved dragons and an ornate chest, and they didn't bother to check for traps 😂
Level 4, they'll get to 5 after this.
Poison gas
Alrighty a level 4 party sneaking through some catacombs into the underbelly of a fort because they think they are here to break someone out of prison.
I mean, it's really just meant to be a tunnel, not the catacombs. That's just the aesthetic of the tileset I used 😅
Ahhh I see. Made me think a part of it was a cave that eventually lead into the tunnels under the fort.
You're gonna need a cube
...You mean of the gelatinous variety?
I don't want to throw too much combat in there, though. As I said, the other end of this dungeon has a level 15 paladin who, as far as he's concerned, is facing off against very dangerous people.
Indoodle. A good way of warning the party without telling them straight out that there's a see through nearly invisible dungeon cleaning monster is mentioning that despite it being dark and unknown, the halls are surprisingly clean and free of dust.
A level 15 paladin against a party of level 4s? Oof.
One smite and the barbarians dead
If there in fact is a barbarian. lol
There is, I did include that in my notes 😂
Ahhhh my bad my bad I missed that bit. A party of seven. Well at least they have action economy on there side.
So you want these tunnels to be more of a nuisance than an actual threat.
Yeah. Some damage is good. Full combat isn't
A Cr 2 cube isn't bad for a party of 7 level 4s. If they aren't the careful type the barbarian in the front will just walk right into the cube taking 3d6 acid damage.
Gelatinous cubes are a good way of telling your party careful, you might walk into another or something else.
The really scary ones are black puddings cuz of the whole they melt your armor and deal 1d6+4d8 when they wack you.
Mm. Again, I'm not really looking for combat. I'm looking for traps and puzzles 😅
Fair enough fair enough my bad lol.
No worries!
You considered putting a fake keyhole? So that when the rogue tries to pick the lock a springboard underneath him flings him up in the air and the proper way of getting to the lock is actually pushing up or down on the keyhole revealing the actual hidden keyhole?
Hm, certainly not the worst idea, I suppose
Better than mine, which are approximately none.
Lmao
You can also consider a puzzle in front of the water room where there are a few statues with there hands held out. Each has its hand held out palm up with a riddle underneath it. The party would need to find the right items in an adjacent room or somewhere on a wall in a previous room it showed the statues holding certain objects.
Not a hard puzzle but if they're observant they'll definitely make a connection.
Do any of these characters require a light source to see in the dark?
Hm, I did consider something like that. I definitely know I want a statue in there somewhere
Human, halfling and dragonborn.
For the water room I'd definitely have a riddle above the door that indicates something along the lines of "cold and damp beneath the ground we wash your sins for free, while at times it's the blind and bold that in this world, can see."
And the truth of the matter is if they snuff there torch out it turns out there's a crack in the wall with light pouring out of it from an ever burning torch on the other side of the wall and they have to find the mechanism that'll open a little passage through the water room without getting a face full of tide
mm, I don't quite understand the purpose of that, but I'm suspecting that the goal is to get them to put out their lights?
That bit lol
If they fail to get the puzzle and they open the water door I'd have the force from the water carry them out to a previous room, maybe take a bit of damage from being battered about.
Not too sure about that, but I've always like the 'go forth in blindness/darkness' puzzles. Some people will literally just never close their eyes.
I'll see if I can't incorporate something like it 😁
Lol just an option. If they figure it out then they'll feel a little sense of pride. If they don't and get washed out, extinguishing there light then when they came back they would be able to see the gap in the wall and go.....is that what it meant?
What kind of puzzles and traps were you thinking about.
I'm not sure, really, but I need to figure these out by the 16th, because ostensibly that's when they'll be reaching the town this takes place under 😅
I do have one for the statues idea, though - mine was more about mirroring the statue, rather than giving them an object.
idk this felt like it could be of importance to dice/tabletop rpg lovers
Enough dice to fill a swimming pool
enough dice to hide the checkerboard floor 👀
Just make sure to leave out any d4s
No I just want 'em all
@somber valve You misunderstand. As with all of the dice goblins, we must find the click clack rocks and then c o n s o o m.
CLICK CLACK ROCKS
end me 😂
The shiny maths stones are to be coveted
stop makig me laugh i beg
We're fighting a Fey Prince in the Feywild who can confuse us and his tree has lair actions and we're level 4
Send luck please xD
Sorry, you picked a fight with the fey, I'm not gonna touch that with an immovable rod.
They started it!
They kidnapped some hutners daughter and then when we politely asked for her back, yanked us into the feywild into a giant tree puzzle dungeon
Because you could technically accuse the prince of being a poor host.
Fey are bound by laws of hospitality
As for the Hunter's Daughter, realistically your DM can't prepare for this right away, but you could essentially try and convince them to... bet her, I suppose, in a game of wit. It's up to you.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I'm a mythology nerd, I give answers based on the irl interpretations.
I'd be careful on that one.
Fey aren't dumb so if your GM is clever the NPC will twist your words and do there best to make you feel accommodated and next thing you know you're trapped in an illusory world dancing for all of eternity in a ball made just for you with everything you love.
Only you can never stop dancing.
We kinda already ended up in combat so I don't think talking is on the table for this round
So the main concern is getting OUT of the feywild, I think
tell'em their house aint shit
make'em so mad they pass out
increase their blood pressure
im sure they are all grandparents anyway
You could suddenly blurt "wait wait! But if you kill us you won't find out the secret!"
throw out their hips!
The GM might be like oh?
If you do that you give them power over you by being a bad guest
i mean if they are already being bad hosts by fighting what does it matter XD
Gives them more power
I'm not sure we're considered guests if we're unwilling guests?
annnnnd he summoned satyrs
You're in their home and are thus guests
Oh
Take out the one with the flute first
💯
plot twist they all have flutes
That breaks the satyr rule, tho ;~;
I think your DM may not like you
There's only one thing left to do
The past couple boss fights have been brutal xD
S E D U C E
The last one was against a swarm of monsters inspired by the apathy-grimm in RWBY
Also, side note: I love 'Conjure X' spells. Woodland Beings is something I've decided will be my Magical Secrets if I ever get the chance to play a bard.
What the whole summon a gang of pixies and have them turn everyone into T-Rexes bit?
God. My disdainnnnn for Satyrs.
Last Satyr that one of my characters met would not stop rapping.
And threatened to attract the evil guards chasing us if we didn't pay them
And for some dang reason he had a werewolf friend who was incredibly afraid of people getting close to him.
Nice guy, I liked him.
Very polite but yelled if you approached him.
Hmm... sounds more like the DM was having fun to me
Of course he was.
Last campaign we managed to actually make friends with a Satyr named Puck
That's the point of the game.
Indeed it is
After fighting some boss in the feywild that we were NOT expecting, I just yelled into thin air "PUCK GET OVER HERE AND EXPLAIN THINGS"
Nat 20 on persuasion
pop Hey guy - whoooooah what'd you DO?
Lol
Always good to make a friend.
So far in the fey wild I have had to insight check the prince, a flower, and a voice inside my head
Not going well xD
just wait until you have to roll a persuasion check against the grass
Henry Crabgrass doesn't need persuading
(We won! He surrendered because our paladin knocked him to 1hp with a non lethal attack xD)
2 people of the 5 were unconscious tho, I've never used Spare the Dying so much in a single fight because one of them had a bleeding effect that kept knocking them out again.
I hosted my first d&d game for Christmas! It was very silly. We have another silly family holiday one shot this Friday for a delayed Easter game. :) what edition do y'all prefer? My family is too used to 3.5E
This is 5e! Both campaigns I've play in currently use that, though I started with 3.5 and dipped my toes into... 4.2, I think.
5E is my favorite so far, it simplifies some of the more confusing bits 3.5 had (grappling shudders) but isn't quite as numbers oriented as 4.2 felt.
And have fun with the oneshot!!
5e is very very easy to pick up and play
if your favourite part of 3.5 is the insane amount of variety and options, then I'd actually recommend Pathfinder 2e over D&D 4 or 5e
Oh yeah and prototyping a board game conversion of an app game I like (polytopia)
I have to stop backing so many Kickstarters 😩
I could not help myself though, it was a Dante's Inferno supplement for D&D 5E and I love both of those things. I am contractually obligated to get it because my Username is based off it.
Plus it's pretty >.>
I have all but metal dice and weird shaped dice
I definitely fall under super sparkle tho
both in terms of fitting that and most of my dice being that lmao
Monochromatic generic dice and metal dice... and it fits.
The metal dice had no business being so accurate
...super sparkle and classic 2 color polys mostly...not sure about the pun addict part
I'm definitely super sparkle 🤣
Where's the edge dice category??
Lmao. Imdeed
i have every dice set but metal dice is the mostg accurate,,, and to be fair my prized dice sets are all metal
Mr. Bears Smithy in my game from when i told yall they wanted to adopt him
And Mr. Bear
That cat is beautiful and powerful and I wannit😂
Feel free to bring Mr. Bear into your games if you wish. He's secretly a shapechanger who likes the compact form because places are less cramped for him that way. He likes open spaces.
He actually looks like so 👆
When he's not in his minime form
The party has yet to find out he's a shapechanger and when he's a cat he only speaks in grumpy Meows
smol kitten
Tis a wee bean
You're talking about the small one, right? That's his real form?
Also, I can just imagine Mr. Bear is working away at his anvil when the party comes in, and they're just shocked to see this other small animal in there with him. And he (if he could talk) just goes 'yeah, that's my kid. keep him away from the fire.')
No the large ones his real form. He turns into the grumpy cat because he doesn't like how cramped places feel when he's big.
So he works away at his anvil when he's a cat and when he's threatened he turned into the big boy.
Though I wonder if I should make his true form a rakshasa instead.
It'd fit though he isn't really an evil creature and rakshasas are known to be
Hahaha
I knew there'd be a gif of that
Laura has a gif for everything by now
plot twist his final form is a gel cat
I mean when you've been making content for that long, there's a solid chance
See, I'd make him a fey
Naw day wouldn't work in my world. Fay in my world are different and they have there reasons for living where they do compared to civilized lands. He's an Abberation from an elemental plane of earth or wind that traveled to this plane and he likes to settle down for a bit, experience life on this plane before moving on.
He might be a Djinn now that I think on it 🤔
So an elemental
Could be.
No, that's literally what Djinni are classified as in D&D. 'Elementals' are more... 'Primordials' in a sense.
Depends on what the GM says honestly.
But yes Djinn are elementals.
What I meant by could be is I'm not sure if I want him to be an Abberation or a Djinn.
Would make more sense story wise if he's an Abberation.
Though I do love my Djinns
I shall think on it.
Abberations are more... things that Don't Belong. Like Illithids/Mind Flayers canonically shouldn't exist in the Forgotten Realms; they come from another planet or existence or whatever, I can't remember
They come from outside the veil that binds all planes of existence together within there bubbles yes.
They were neither created by the gods more the being that created the cosmos. They are creatures that bend the very fabric of understanding to be gazed upon.
Etcetc.
I know the Cheshire cat of holding that my party is making deals with left and right is in fact an Abberation.
It was bonded into servitude until one of the party members foolishly chose it as there reward.
And now it's its following them along secretly tormenting them and feeding on there memories
Basically: is it something Cthulu would do? Abberation. Is it something that could kind of exist? Monstrosity, in most cases. Is it intelligent or magical? Probably fey, maybe elemental or fiend
Cthulhu is such a terrible example though. All cthulhu cares about is the destruction of all creation. There are many other Old ones that have much more interesting plans with existence. Well, plans in general. Cthulhu just wants to smash and destroy.
I don't know that his motivation was ever explored in the original lore
he was just napping
and anyone who got too close went insane
He was too beautiful for there eyes to understand
Cthulhu has 30 charisma after all.
Must have sparkled in the light.
but what if the bard IS a grandma
i now want a grandma bard but i already have a grandma... something or other i haven't seen her sheet in a while because my pc was broken lmao
oh! it was Grahtra, a level 9 Goblin Witch
and this is what she looked like, lol
Someone please help! These
or these
Or am I absolutely irresponsible and get both
Because I don't need that many dice xD
I know a lot of people are dice gremlins xD I'm not
I don't judge dice gremlins
But these are all the dice I own
I double down on both sets now... but it's hoarder mentality I know XD
😂
You are REALLY tempting me to go back on Etsy
and get them
HHHHHHHH WHY
I usually prefer a d20 and a fitting d6 over a complete set, but there are barely any pretty d6 being sold
nvm
Just found it
Lnk to the dice sets please, i need a set#

I found a shop that sells single d6, so I got a single d6 and a single d20 from the flourite set and the full rainbow set 😂
help
I'm not a good influence here since they all look wonderful
if you had to really pick one though then I'm leaning towards the latter
thanks!
why do y'all keep sharing these, I want them so bad 😂
I'm sorry 😂
I kinda am sorry
this all reminds me, i need a mismatched 3d6 set for my monter of the week character patches...
Oooh didn't see that, love the ones on the far right! They're pretty
thank you! I've had them for a long while and use them for my dancer/warrior ❤️
@proud oriole I mean, getting full sets is a good thing. Also, if I had been here, I'd have gone for the lighter ones
I don't like getting full sets
I prefer having dice that fit together but are not exactly the same
Also I don't need a second d4/d8/d10/d12... and I have a tiny dice bag that I'm very attached to
Well, in the end, I got the one full set for dming and the d20 from the other set 😂
Having full sets means you can roll all of the dice for a big spell at the same time
I currently have no characters that need that
I mean that's true
I kind of want more characters xD
That's why you make characters tho
You don't need to be playing them to make them
😂
I have 16 unused characters and 12 that were originally meant to be NPCs in a campaign I ran
I'm usually like... when I make a character, I want to play them
So the only unplayed characters I have are unplayed because their campaign ended
Fellow dice goblins, what's your preferred way of storing the math rocks?
Just got a dragon egg that holds all mine
Ive got a dice bag where one side (utside/inside) is rainbow cats and the other is stars
That sounds so cool!
can you choose which side is the outside?
I use 2 big dice bags my friends made themselves :D
that's so cool
I have a tiny dragon dicebag I crocheted for myself
Do y'all have pictures of these awesome things?
cause selfmade stuff is always special ^^
I can get one in a moment

O M G THAT'S ADORABLE

Awww, is it based on a creature?
It's based on her favorite deity in a setting we played, which is a giant white whale
A whale as a deity sounds really cool!!
My sister's obsessed with them xD
Honestly if ya gotta be obsessed with something, whale deities is an awesome thing to choose
I got her dice with little whales in them for her bday xD
omg 🥺🥺 can you link them cause they sound amazing
Okay they exceeded my expectations
They're in the basement and I'm lazy im sorry 😂 next time I'm down there I'll send a picture!
Haha don't worry about it, I'd be too lazy as well
This is my dragon egg with a d20 for scale
Here rests Sir Squeaks The Brave. A more noble Hamster there never was for without his inspiring Hamster battle cries the heroes would not have defeated the mighty dragon.
Where did you get that and are there more of them???
Etsy is always the answer
Thank you!!!!
My dnd group has done a secret Santa the past couple years and everyone always gets at least one new set of dice xD
So now time for dice holders!
Hahaha great idea
300 dice
As someone mentioned it's from Etsy, I got the eggstravagant one and for the time being it's enough to hold all my dice but I'm getting dangerously close XD
Aaaah seeing all these great dice makes me wanna buy more even though 3 sets arrived recently
fff so many prety dice
anyone got suggestions for independent / custom / ooak dice sellers where i can get a mismatched 3d6 set in purple, blue, black, and gray?
because i want mismatched i don't think gemstone or metal is the right way to go, and they need to be balanced bc they'll be used, but i'd like the lettering to be the same font/color, just different colors on the body of the dice
if all else fails i know i can fall back on diehard dice but i want to support a small seller
Etsy is your friend
I don't know if anyone sells just random dice or b-dice or whatnot, and I think most online dice sellers that sell "cheaper" sets of acrylic/plastic dice get them form wholesalers in places like china (though a lot of those dice are gorgeous, so I'm certainly not judging)
But if you don't mind spending the money, etsy would be your best bet
true and valid! i was more wondering if anyone has specific positive experience sthey can share uwu
i endded up also reaching out to diehard dice to see if they have any experimental in-house acrylics or can recommend a mismatched metal 3 - they make a lot of their own dice, it's rad
So, if anyone is interested I found an amazing dice shop a couple days and bought a set from them, they’ve got mystery bags with a dice set in them that’s generally cheaper than their other dice, but their dice aren’t the most expensive either!

Question what would y’all say is the most common source of damage from demons in 5e aside from slashing bludgeoning and piercing?
fire or poison or necromancy?
You mean necrotic?
yes
Prob fire of the few I just don’t know my areas of enemy knowledge are devils and undead
Also should I take a dragon mask or robe of the arch magi?
I've only played... 2 sessions? Of DnD 5E so... 🤷
Ok
In what context?
Going against demons am warlock already have resistance to a damage type of my choice that means the mask would give me immunity and heal me more
Robe of the archmagi
The fact your spell save DC becomes 20+, your AC becomes 15+dex and you save against all spells and magical effects at advantage is too good to pass up
Then again though most monsters at high level play have legendary resistance 🤔
Mmm considering your level of play you probably have 4 slots the mask might be a better choice unless you hit level 20 warlock and can just refresh your spell slots by asking your sugar daddy or sugar momma for more magic
The 15+dex doesn’t matter I’ve got +2 plate
Ye and a revolver
Ahh you took the UA one. Cool
Unless you have the UA invocation you can't make a revolver a pact weapon
Unless of course your GM is like sure why not
GMS ruling ye
It was long before that ua I made this character
At least I think
I don’t remember that being in a ua but I take it it was the tashas one with invocations
New U.A. just dropped
Apparently Dragonborn can now actually bust a Rihanna and shine bright like a diamond
By that I mean you can play a gem Dragonborn now
ooooh
Oh about time! The gemstone dragons has been around for so long, was wondering why they didn’t have Dragonborn
Well, it's entirely possible that they weren't intended to exist! I don't think we know anything about gemstone dragons in 5E - I literally never knew they existed until I started researching D&D dragons for my campaign.
Beginning tangent now; if you would like to skip it, go down to the bold text. Dragonborn as they exist today are only a part of 5E and 4E. Canonically, the dragonborn are technically aliens. They come from a planet called Abeir. The 'canon' planet is Toril; they used to be one planet, Abeir-Toril. Ao split Abeir and Toril to prevent the destruction of all existence due to a war between the Gods and the Primordials. In turn, the Primordials of Abeir were destroyed and defeated by the dragons, who became the new great power.
This was due to the dragons being tired of being enslaved under the primordials. Ironically, they then created the dragonborn to be their servants, who in turn rebelled against them, and were displaced to Toril during the Second Sundering. With that tangential explanation over -
I can only find one instance of gemstone dragons existing in D&D 5E, through a statblock/info from a totally legitimate website - the Adult Sapphire Dragon, as part of the Sapphire Anniversary Dice Set pack (released in 2019).
What I can find contains about a page of information on sapphire dragons, and a page on gemstone dragons in general.
I’m just happy they’re finally getting around to them, as a DM the sapphire dragon has been one of my favorites to play around with just glad we might actually get around to seeing the others again too
Depends whether or not they keep up with the theme, because if so, there's some dragons that're overdue 😂
Just
I honestly miss a lot of the things from earlier editions in 5E but as it is right now, they’d need some way to fit it all in
Not all of it, I don't think, but certainly a large portion of it
Since, well, half of 5E is about it being simplified and easier to pick up.
Oh for sure, there are some things that could fit in, from reading the bestiary on the sapphire dragon the other gem dragons are at least mentioned, so who knows, might get to see these babies some time soon
We might get a template, ala the Dracolich.
Yhe
Holy shit that's so cool wtf
Which thing is cool, sorry?
Oh totally forgot to hit reply lol I meant the new ua!
Sadly the only gem dragon born art I have found so far are these two. Hopefully more is made in the future
Considering a dragonlance setting was in the works I'm guessing this U.A. is testing out some of the options in that setting so we'll probably get more gem dragons if it's released.
Last I heard though wizards of the coast canceled the setting due to pressure from the culture after the whole your creatures are racist stereotypes thing that happened.
The creator of the dragonlance setting was suing them for suddenly being canceled after nearly finishing the book.
I heard rumors it might be getting worked on again so we'll see
Lol I saw that it's quite funny and some of them cracked me up.
The trial Dungeon beneath the tomb of Sir Squeaks The Brave
I’m so happy i backed a dice Kickstarter and they just pulled the funds from my account, so getting pretty dice soon
Ohhh those are gorgeous!
Oh yhe, for anyone that wonders; this is the campaign I backed:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/awesomedice/hieroglyphic-rpg-dice-sets
Not sure if they’ll release afterwards, hope they will cause I kinda regret not getting at least 2 sets of each
Wtf thays stunning
They're little bookshelf worlds between your books!
There's a japan one and a wizard one as well
But they're like 200 dollars each
this channel is bad for my wallet
Preach.
takes deep breath I have nowhere to display this I have nowhere to display this I have nowhere to display this...
Lmao
takes a deep breath if I buy these I have to buy a nicer bookshelf, if I buy this I have to buy a nicer bookshelf...
https://c.tenor.com/G_lclj-OA8MAAAAM/leave-me-alone-stressed.gif
god damnit... in my last year of college so I don't have the money for this but holy hell do I want that
miniature diormaas!!!! im talking about making some with my boyfriend :D!
i like workinbg with foam, so it's perfectly possible that we will
Size comparison of Y’gathok, the Ceaseless Hunger and Bjorn, our level 20 Goliath Barbarian.
😂
Do any of y'all play DnD?
Heck yeah
waves hand through the entire chat
Short answer is very much yes.
Long answer is hell to the yeeeeeeeeeeee
We just finished showing everyone etsy dice we really wanted, shared a map, talked about some map making, some characters.
It's a good time
I'm playing DnD this sunday and I'm super excited. New campaign
I'm playing a nonbinary aarakocra named Tex
Noice
I’m currently a Grung Barbarian called g’Oong
Ranger
The entire party thinks their adorable, and it's already been decided our druid is gonna adopt them
I know Tex isn't a good fantasy name but it's the only one I could think of
Hahaha have you had trouble communicating with the rest of the party with your Grung yet?
I had a Grung monk. Sounded like Stitch to everyone else but to anybody that could understand Grung he sounded like a Posh British Gentleman.
Bah. The important thing is you have fun, doesn't matter if it's Tex or Trogdor the Destroyer.
Tex is a fine name :)
I'm trying to figure out Tex's voice
I wanted a one syllable name that would be hard to forget.
And I'll be honest, I remember mundane names a lot quicker than fantasy names
I honestly have never played with anyone who rolled Grung before
They're a lot of fun except when you accidentally poison the people trying to heal you when you're hurt or unconscious
And the fact they're the only player race that doesn't know common.
Huh, yeah I now know why I don't encounter than often.
I once had a Loxodon named Tim. They were a shy but goodhearted big guy who was very timid during fights and cried because he hugged a tree so hard for comfort once that he accidentally snapped it in half and asked it for forgiveness
Awww
Oyr druid is named Theo. He's actually from our world, but has been summoned by his patron god. He's my favorite character in the party
I love Tim
Lol I went a stitch voice route too, they think I’m rather dumb which works as I am
Pffft bahaha
And thank you. Tex sounds adorable.
Tex is this feral wild child (they're actually 8 which is Aarakocra equivalent to mid 20's but I digress)
They have no social skills, or sense of danger.
You listen to any dnd podcasts?
I used to but work took up most of my time unfortunately.
Plus my ADD makes me drift off to other things
Like looking for constant stimulation on my phone. Tis a struggle.
I want these so much 🥺
So dang pretty
500 bucks though
EXPENSIVE!
Somehow in The Adventure Zone (DnD podcast) Justin keeps losing his d6 dice
Kenku technically don't either do they?
Kenku can write, read and understand common, but they can only speak using their mimicry trait
Fair I forgot that goes into knowing a language too LMAO
OH MY GOD WHERE DO YOU FIND THESE DICE
500$ for dice? are they carved out of real marble?
gold dice dont sit right
gold seems too soft for those math rocks to always clack perfectly
what if i get really into it and dent them ;o;
One of the most expensive dice I've ever seen was a huge solid tungsten d20 by wyrmwood, 1.5k$ lol
Oh yeah expensive dice like that are just decor
And they're making an even bigger one now, wonder how much that one will be
Gemstone dice also notoriously suck ass, they chip so fast
Liam o'brien has real meteorite d20, the thing rolls like complete shit
well dice can look pretty and still be sturdy
having dice just as flex-material is kinda sad ;-;
But honestly, even chessex dice can get insanely expensive. Og borealis sets can run you over 500$ since they're a super rare collector's item
For sure
well collectors items are another league of their own
You want to find that sweet spot of $20-$200
They're carved out of Howlite and apparently they prevent it from chipping by surrounding it in a thin layer of resin after applying the bronze numbers.
Very pretty but I don't think I'd spend 500 bucks on a set of dice even if they are insanely pretty
They also made these
Woooooow that's a wall of images
Pretty dice!
My dumb self just tried to win a disagreement with my DM by reading the DnD first edition handbook
pfff
i need to buy tarot cards. for tabletop games
Oooh lots of good ones out there. You want a theme in particular?
Ooo. I collect those
I use mine for magic decks in game like the deck of useful things or deck of illusions or deck of many things
Most recent one I got
My most recent tarot deck is a dragon deck 😂
Anything with dragons will sell me 10/10
Lol it's from an etsy shop called PixelOccult. I had discovered them last year when I found there kickstarter for a deck that I backed and then I found out they had an etsy shop with more decks.
This is the one I backed last year that made me fall in love with there art style.
ok honest question
how cant kenku just speak
i mean theyve heard say yes before so why cant they mimic yes all the time
wouldnt a kenkus speech just be multiple vocies trading out the words
They’ve heard it but they might not have picked it up
cause we as humans tend to learn language from others speaking it
so wouldnt they do the same?
There’s so many different voices and ways to say yes, if there isn’t one that seems fun to them, why would they pick it up?
Especially when something more interesting to them gets the job done
They aren’t humans. They’re birds. Bird intelligence works different than human intelligence sometimes.
when playing a Kenku one must think of how Parrots and Corvids (like ravens and such) learn to speak, they learn by mimicry, so while they might know the spoken word "yes" they might not know when it is appropriate to use it, so you could say to a Kenku "hello, what is your name" and the Kenku not knowing better verbally would probably just go "hello"
So per lore part of the Kenku's curse is that they lack imagination and the ability to create. So they can mimic things but they are bound to pure mimicry and cannot use it to create their own sentences. So if someone asks a yes or no question, they can say yes. But if the answer has nuance to it then they're screwed.
In some games people like to have a super limited amount of words their kenku has because it's fun but unless official sources say otherwise and I just haven't seen it, a kenku should be able to answer yes or no questions
Assuming the kenku in question has been around society in the first place at least
Yhe, as per official Kenku Write, Read and understand common fluently, the speaking of common and speaking in general, has become a source for many house rules
Yeah the way it gets ruled is ultimately up to the table and the particular kenku's backstory.
Like I've considered making a kenku monk where most of the monastary works under a vow of silence so the kenku has heard next to no words before. Because I liked the idea that the party could be total butts and teach me super useless phrases lolol
Also sorry I know my answer is super late, I just think the kenku curse is so tragic and I love it lol
quick question
if youre multiclassing
do you gain the 2nd classes saving throw profiencies?
I believe no
nope
@primal perch There's actually a list of what proficiencies you gain based on your chosen multiclass.
Please note: you can get additional proficiencies from class features, i.e., multiclassing into cleric gets you light+medium armour and shield. Choosing the Life domain in turn gets you heavy armour proficiency.
You also need to meet the multiclassing prerequisites for both your current class and your new class (unless your DM is nice about it).
I need to persuade my friends to play D&D more. I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally wanna try it but we did one session and then never played again
I know that feeling lol
Like I keep up with the new books and UAs but I never actually play it's very sad
I'm next time I level up my character I'm taking a wizard level as multi class so I will be Warlock (Hexblade) 8/ Wizard 1, very excited to have MORE SPELLS
Mood. One of my favourite characters (tch, like they aren't all my favourites) is a warlock/fighter with a particular Invocation that made me love it all the more.
I'm planning to take the blade song school for the wizard class which I hope will go GREAT with the hexblade but that will probably take a while to get too hahaha
Actually, that depends. If you use a shield or medium/heavy armour, or a two-handed weapon, you won't even be able to use the bladesong
Bladesingers can only use light armour and attack one-handed or dual-wielding.
No shield, but I do currently have medium armor, but on the look out for decent light since we are like mid level hoping to at least buy some when ever we get to civilization again (We are currently in the underdark 🤣)
And my weapon is one handed so I think it will even out
Ahhh, studded leather is really your best bet.
Or magical leather, depends on your DM
yeah, my DM is pretty noce about items but still have to find them, or shell out the dough (Which I do have a decent amount of so far)
She is aware of my intentions so I hope that will help with my luck of finding things
That is very fair. Communication with your DM is the answer to all problems.
Like she basicly handed me a wizards spell book, then stabbed me in the back with characyer plot but worth it hahaha
God I love DnD I wanna play now hahaha
saaaaame
I don't know what level you guys are at but if it's high enough I can see why xD
i didnt even kill the character he did
29
My god. How?
we where using an epic levels thing
29 and he still got himself killed smh
Never used it. But really want to try it once. But how he killed himself it's an art form for sure xD
tho no one went into epic level bonuses we all just multiclassed into fighter and warlock over time
lmao
So it's a one shot what's the problem?
he was the paladin of being lame and breaking an 8 year olds stick
sequel thing so it was cos before
But are you going to do a second sequel?
maybe
And can't he just create a new character and you add it to the campaign ?
not much we can do i mean we litterally killed orcus
if a prequel comes before and a sequel comes after
then is the thing in between just a quel
it's 4am ignore me
At the same level the others are at? We do that sometimes. We have "trow away characters" for people that just want to join for one or two sessions and then later come back. Basically they just need to warn the DM in advance
ye he can but i think he wanted oreali to show up in one of his campaigns later cause he likes having dm pcs
despite how no one else in our group enjoys dm pcs
oh yeah i should note he was dming
he killed the character
then what's
the problem
died in one of the few areas (in our world) where souls cant get out off
So wait. He was the DM, and he killed his own character, at level 29??!?
YEAH
dmpcs are cringe
Let the DM be the DM. He can already kill us with the monsters he decides to create
DMPCs are... fine if played right
No need to add more complications
name one time they are
when they're more useful than an escort quest but not overpowered to the point of not bothering
But how did he kill himself? He literally could control the enemies to not attack him!
like Lady Kima in Critical Role campaign 1
you are giving the one person who already plays 99% of the characters including monsters and is in every or almost every combat not to meantion have knowledge of the entire campaign so you dont really in my experience trust them with decisions
that's exactly my point
they have to be played right
I'm good at ignoring meta knowledge to instead focus on what my character would do
ye well seamus isnt
most DMs aren't tbh
Only time DMPCs are actually good is when they help the plot move forward by giving prompts to the players or being a board to bounce thoughts off of because at times players can be a bit thick about things and they'll decide to just sit somewhere instead of search around or connect certain clues.
Yep. And it really depends on the person. Me and my group of friends could not do it xD we are currently deciding to join the dark side of the campaign we invented just because. If our DM had a pc he would literally try to make sure we got killed xD
I've had 'DMPC's' before where it's literally just... 'this is a level 2 character because the party is level 1 and they'll literally die otherwise', aka, the party can still very much die if they're not careful
If they're stronger than the party, or they have X amount more knowledge than the party, or they're taking the spotlight from the party - then it's a problem
Agreed.
The campaign is ultimately about the players characters playing in a world of the GMs creation. Once you start creating NPCs that follow the players around that are overpowering I'm comparison to them then how is it your players story. It becomes watch me use this totally kewl player character idea I have and....I guess you all can't sit back and watch.
Only character I've had in my players party tbh is one the party took it upon themselves to "adopt" and it's become a constant "oh god whered she dissapear to?!?!? Find the little kleptomaniac before she gets herself killed!"
Oh yeah, also they can't stay with the party forever
But that's what they get for dragging around a level 4 sorcerer when they're level 7. They'll figure out maybe they shouldn't bring an 8 year old street urchin into caves and dungeons
Dmpcs are legit fine as long as you have a good DM
When used as a means for a DM to share thoughts, clues, lore information and the such I definitely agree.
If it's to have a super amazing awesome NPC character who saves the day while the players are like well....what do we do? Then not so much.
Exactly
I do have to admit though Pumat swol was pretty badass
Pumat Swole let the party continue on to the 'boss fight' while he held off the 'reinforcements' - aka, he left the party, aka, wasn't there to save the day
I mean itttt. Lol. Watching that canadian Firbolg get beefy made me freak out.
What spell even was that? 😂
It was a wizard spell.
I think 7th level
Gives you advantage on strength you become proficienct with marshal weapons
I know that, but I'm asking what spell was cast specifically
Pumat swol was something else alright
Oh hey, thanks
