/slams in here a little late, did someone say Warhammer? Because I'm pretty big into Warhammer. 😊 I just started reading the books this year!
I'm planning on creating Guilliman in Coral Island so he can live out his farming dreams
hi fellow boardgamers, since I've been playing at my local comic store I've gotten to know many awesome boardgames and learned to play some classics, Catan, Carcassone, Ticket To Ride for example, ones I have myself: Fallout (franchise, all boardgames available), Stardew Valley, Magic Maze, Western Legends, etc. Once I loved playing at the store so far: Piraten Kappern, Spacebase, Ticket To Ride, Skyjo, Traxx and many others 🙂
I also do Pokémon TCG 🙂 collection and playing the liga
I have the fallout one! it's decent, you can even play solo if you have time to kill. although I remember having difficulties understanding the manual and rules, still had fun afterwards
yeah completely get that, I spend two full days playing with the rules next to me and then a single solo playthrough took met 3 hours 😄
but indeed super fun 😄 truly love it, if you just want to dive into another world for a while it's a great boardgame, also like sometimes I just want an electronic break and then it's ideal 🙂
i got obsessed with that franchise and never looked back! talking about boardgames I played Mysterium recently it was a lot of fun too
yeah it seems super interesting, need to check that one too one day 🙂
Theres a fallout tabletop rpg I've been wanting to look at. The only thing I remember was the movement system but that alone seemed really dang cool
Yeah I have it. Currently Homebrewing the hell out of it tho, because it's basically just Fo4 tabletop in Boston. And I already went through that game so many times, so it's time for a Fallout NY for me
Yeah I'm only really interested in the mechanics of the game. If I were running it I'd be using my own setting, too
Just played my first game of sdv board game
After having extremely bad luck in the mines, we won the game on a 50/50 dice role to get a mineral
...what?
So I’m running a campaign of dnd irl for some friends right
I got my dad to 3d print something for me
3D printing myself a dice tower.... 9 hours in for the base, so far hasn't failed yet.... 🤞
way to jinx yourself 🫠
uh oh pat pat
PRETTY FORBIDDEN CANDIES
But they're so crunchy

I kinda wanna get back into D&D
You have my attention.
LoL I like the idea of the wizards school one
Do you mean as in the Wizard class?
Oh, is it a setting??
the one with the Owlin race
Oh, Strixhaven
That's the one lol
That's one of the ones I'm actually not that sure about tbh
really? It sounds fun!
Oh, I mean I don't know things about it
Not sure what it contains, etc
I'm for Faerûn, tried and true
I'm fortunate enough to be playing in two d&d and one starfinder game at the moment. Love me some ttrpg
I had an idea for a playable race once and a variant for the Thri-keen in spelljammer
Playable race https://at.tumblr.com/autistic-adventures-in-nerdom/okay-so-weird-idea-for-a-dd-race-eyeless-seeing/xdmh3ywtrg3z
so yeah I made these
I've been mostly faerun in the past but the first campaign I started DMing was Eberron and now I've kind of just become the Eberron guy. Though I do really want to run Curse of Strahd one of these days.
The fun thing about the Domains of Dread is that canonically they exist simultaneously in all of the multiverse.
You could even have player characters come from both Faerûn and Eberron
Huh, I thought it was only in the planescape of faerun
Not since VRGR
I mean with a setting as unique as ravenloft I guess makes sense they'd make it even more bizarre as to ignore the barriers of crystal spheres entirely
Makes me wonder about the Domains of Delight, though, tbh
Ooooh it'd be super easy to say parts of cyre were claimed by the domains of dread when the mourning happened. Spicy...
Hey, you can definitely create your own Dread Domain - just remember that every realm requires a Darklord 😉
If I were to run CoS I probably wouldn't do too much monkeying with lore but some monkeying is always necessary so that'll be exciting
Not that my dang group will ever play enough to go through the campaign
My DM is taking us through CoS rn, and it's been fun enough so far
Over 2 years we've played like 5 sessions of the eberron game. I've GMed more cyberpunk red than DnD at this point
He's changed a few things around, like ||Izek is the sibling of one of our party's characters|| and ||the blessings of the Amber Temple are unique to each party member||, but I think for the most part he's stuck to the book quite closely.
Yeah some messing about is always good. Just for taste or to get people more involved or even just for lack of content sometimes
Oh also ||the area with the giant tree did not have a 50ft by 50ft grid. Because who the heck thought that was a good idea||
I don't own the book yet so much as I've heard about it and it seems like fun so no clue about any of that lol
Since my first two ttrpgs were DnD 5e and VtM v20 CoS seems like my cup of tea
Somehow I feel like this does not belong lol

Any folks here play Call of Cthulu 👀
I have!
!!! Ayoo!! I've been craving for a Victorian Era one shot of sorts tbh
My friend found a CoC multishot that's Phantom of the Opera inspired too 🤔
Yiiiis. The last CoC game I played was set in the 1980s London
I did play an 1890s setting called Masque of the Red Death D&D setting (originally 2nd edition, but edited fro 5th)
!!! DUDE ID LOVE TO PLAY IN AN 1890'S SETTING
Lorddddd

It also had supernatural elements like werewolves, Jack the ripper, etc
SHDJDBDNN thats....so flavorful!!!
Lol what a coincidence, me and a couple friends recently started a game of Werewolf: the apocalypse set in the 1890's Alaskan gold rush. We had another game before in 1860s. We kind of accidentally became period piece players in the World of Darkness games.
No but I adore that though! I also haven't played Werewolf in years
We also had a game of vampire: the masquerade set in mid-prohibition new york
Very good stuff
I'm just playing a modern V5 game right now. (Well I took the month off to deal with family matters)
We started with a modern v20 game and when we went to w20 we opted to try wild west as a setting it was such a hit in our group that when I wanted to run v20 I thought we could try another period piece. When we inevitably play mage tbe ascension I'm sure we'll do modern again
It slaps. Takes some work to learn and get used to (like many systems ofc) but extremely rewarding
As long as you and your GM know what you're doing, it's completely viable to have a purely social character not built for combat (and still be somewhat useful in combat just on account of being a vampire). Same goes for WtA for that matter, just for VtM my first character was a manipulative character rather than combative while werewolf I was the other way around so
👀!!! YOO?? I love that? I'm very into the roleplay side of things so that's awesome to hear!
It's way more roleplay oriented than DnD in my experience (as a 5e player at least)
Omg d&d is not roleplay friendly at all
That's why I adore powered by the Apocalypse games
I mean, it is and it isn't.
Depends on the DM and the synergy you have with your party c:
good to know :D
I adore role-playing in DnD and it's still my most played ttrpg but rolling Persuasion and Deception 100 times, occasionally with advantage, is not quite a great role-playing system
It entirely depends on how the DM runs it. In my circles (I play, DM, and advise some friends), conversations with NPCs rarely involves things like Persuasion or Deception, it's mostly about the player making their case.
Be it through roleplaying or explaining how they'd like something to happen if they're not very confident in it
Agreed, but dice will come into the equation eventually, and there aren't many options when it comes to what to roll. As a GM I might flesh it out with having a player who makes their case through logistics roll Intelligence (persuasion) if an NPC needs to be persuaded and won't be moved easily, but that's still rather limited.
Meanwhile in world of darkness games for example, rolling Appearance-empathy is vastly different in flavor to rolling manipulation-subterfuge even if both might get you the same result depending on context. Cyberpunk RED you might roll persuasion, bribery, or bureaucracy depending on the context.
A good GM can make any system work great, but that doesn't say anything about the system itself.
Oh, of course.
...don't know where the it is came from, but I'll just redact that
Again, I love DnD and roleplay in it all the time, and we seem to use the same methods and be in similar positions (player, GM, advisor) so I think we're on the same page lol
When I DM, I always do try my best to expand the limitations. Sometimes that's through the player making a well-made argument (in or out of character), or through shifting the requirements (changing the required ability, as you said). And never lock the sole point of progression behind a DC.
As a roleplay fan, my only real gripe is that a player who doesnt engage in roleplay heavily might say "I'd like to try to convince the peasant to give us access to his barn to sleep" vs someone who either speaks in character or explains how they try to convince the farmer (offering gold, labor, etc) are ultimately the same result as far as dice are concerned (assuming you make them roll to begin with)
Well, if the player said that, I'd ask them how they want to convince him
Appeal to the man's kind nature? Bribe him?
If they didn't do it, then I would set a higher DC
Like, think about the equivalent. Some road-weary warrior trudges up to you and asks to sleep in your barn with no further comment
That's gonna be a big ask
I'm not seeing how that really pertains to what I'm saying
I'm not saying roleplay is hard in DnD, just mechanically boring
I'm saying that as far as I'm concerned, if dice become involved in roleplay, then a player who engages in it will have a more rewarding experience.
balanced was the wrong word
i am tired
But I do agree that D&D is more combat focused than it maybe needs to be
Especially since there's a lot of powercreep.
Combat's extremely good so long as you can keep track of all the moving parts 😅
Up until recently I did theatre of the mind with my players, which resulted in a lot of unspecific questions and weird distancing (though tbf distances are already weird in D&D)
And I was also trying to track the different HPs for all the creatures in the encounter
Meanwhile cyberpunk RED is grody as hell when it comes to moving parts lol.
Combat is something I'm not a fan of. I get so bored
Combat is tough. You kind of have to choose not to be bored in order to enjoy it sometimes
I have friends who do the Warhammer/ mini wargaming and it fascinates me but I'll never play it
Yeah proper wargames are not my thing
I think People more or Less Rush through The combat scene, which is sad. Like get a good dm that goes "Explain to me What you do, and after you roll to see if thats what you do".
Often its just "I use my axe, did a 15 hit?"
I want to know flavor! Where did you hit, how did you stand? Like give me the juicy deatils!
Dnd i boring when its just a "I do this, i do that" kinda game.
I do fall in The trap myself tho, but I always try to do better.
Plus even with "17 so that's a hit, 11 damage" combat can take a long time. I think people often see that and decide it's not worth it to make combat that much longer by saying every turn "my first swing didn't hit so we lock blades. I spit in his eye and shove his blade up, exposing his belly, and going for a follow-up horizontal swing. That's a hit, 11 damage as a come dangerously close to gutting him on the spot, though he was quick enough to avoid death now, he won't stay so lucky"
In the case of doing multiple attacks in a turn (multi-attack, action surge, cantrip+leveled spell, whatever) I try to only really narrate one action each turn to try to hit a balance of flare/flavor and time efficiency. Or sometimes I'll just roll attacks and damage first to see the results and narrate the turn from there.
"You can't murder my gay couple, that's homophobic!"
"Now that I think about it, Gisa and Geralf seem kinda homophobic to me."
"Bruh they're siblings, what about them is homophobic?"
"I don't know man, hating all life is kinda homophobic to me."
Ooh as a D&D DM I wanted to chime in on this topic too (combat that is, lol)! There are six players plus myself in our group and we all range from as young as 25 and upwards to 50. A couple of us (myself included) have been around since the 80s so playing has grown organically. But, and I mean a HUGE but, combat is complicated. So much moving parts that the older I get the more I don't want to do it anymore. I'm an old school role-player and getting mired down into the mechanics of battle finally got to me and the rest of our group. Especially (and understandably so) the younger players who felt it was too convoluted. We invested in FoundryVTT and used an old kitchen table and lcd tv and made a gaming table. Because so much of the combat is now calculated, we can move on to the storylines more efficiently. Watching my players "grow" into their characters and feel immersed was just a massive boon.
I kinda wanna start a campaign but idk anything about dm ing so I’d have to get somebody else but I’d love to play with some of you guys! I have an idea for an owlin Druid!
Tbh though I have several character ideas I kinda wanna make a necromancer inspired by Yzma before she was changed from the movie “kingdom of the sun” to “emperors new groove”
If I may voice my option here, WoD can have amazing combat but its all on how its framed. If the ST does detailed accounts of the dice results it can be very engaging. If they let the dice rolls just do all the talking then I can see how its not as good as D&D. Personally D&D combat system can drag out a encounter for too long and cause some of the players to become disengaged in what is happening. Played a D&D campaign with 8 players and let just say by round 2 most players lost interest and was doing something else by the time their turn was up.
I guess what I am trying to say is, its about how involved the players and how detailed the ST is that can make or break a encounter. Each system can be amazing but it takes everyone involved to make it that way.
@burnt gull What platform would you use to host? I know there's a bunch out there. Also, I know this is foundry (yes I can't help it, big fan, awesome community etc), but I recently bought a campaign you might love! It's called Humblewood and its literally a 5e campaign about birdfolk and other animal playable races. It's so artistic and well done. Just hearing you make a owlin made me think of this.
Ooooh I just like owls but that sounds so cool!!!
Not sure what platform. Because I’ve never done one myself and I’d need a dm because I’ve never done that before
I’m still kinda new
and yes I know it's ironic to have an animal/bird type person that can become other animals but I like owls okay lol
but I was thinking of making her a circle of wildfire druid anyway so she can turn into a LITERAL BALL OF FIRE when she's mad or in battle which makes for a terrifying sight if you're just now meeting her or are the opponent
Unfortunately, Wildfire druids cannot turn into fire.
I just was thinking of like looking intimidating/ aesthetics lol
@burnt gull I think the concept of your Owlkin is awesome. The Path of the Storm Herald under the Barbarian class could be flavor texted to make it as if you're on fire. But you want to be a druid from what I can see. One thing you might want to do is ask a DnD reddit or discord about homebrew druid spells. I would be surprised if there wasn't a fiery phoenix-like spell out there somewhere!
niiiice
I feel like her being a tiny cousin of the barn owl called a lesser sooty owl (inspired by it anyway) and her being so angry all the time gives her “let me see what you have! “A KNIFE!!!” “NO!!!!” Vibes lol
But she’s got serious anger issues which 65% of the time results in a fight
Depends on the day she’s been having tbh
Super hotheaded when she’s stressed and or tired
Sleepy not exhausted muscle tired otherwise she couldn’t fight
She’s just basically all this pent up rage in a tiny little bird body that sometimes it leaks out every so often
she'd look similar to this btw
originally she was gonna be inspired by another cool barn owl cousin I also found called the tasmanian masked owl that looks like this it's more reddish
Btw there's a pf2e bundle on humble Bundle for anyone who is interested in pf2e 👀
👀
:v
Kek
is part of the joke, he obviously is
:3
:3
but yeah, the humble bundle contains lots of valuable stuff
Can't wait for my Duskwalker Kobold Alchemist to make their debut ✨
including the core rulebook and a complete adventure path, among other stuff
will he manage to weather the venture into abomination vaults though
I'm about to embark on my first pathfinder game!
how was it :3
Oh i didn't mean this second i just meant in general 🤣
We're in character building stages. I'm actually really really enjoying it. It's surprising I've never played PF considering how many RPGs I've played over the years dnfmggk
going to do session 0 of my extremely homebrew-setting vampire the masquerade game today (to the point where it's unrecognisably different as a setting lol)
i'm nervous because i'm a relatively new gm but at the same time my experience with non-homebrew settings has been "i don't know enough to immerse players into it" so here's hoping my extreme homebrew is successful
Good luck!
we got the character sheets and the relationship map done, but i need to do a follow up briefing session for game mechanics XD
Over the past few months, I've become intrigued by Dungeons & Dragons. A friend introduced me to some of the DnD streams, and I've enjoyed watching them. I've learned more about the game and want to try playing...but I don't have a ready group of prospective players. I don't want to show up at a game store and say "Hi, strangers. You don't know me. I'm an absolute novice. May I please join your game?" Nor am I crazy about the idea of playing with a random group of strangers online. What other options might I have?
Ask some of your friends if they'd want to try it out!
My first game was all new players and someone who had a lot of very critical misunderstandings about how the game works. So many mistakes that it wasn't even recognizable as DnD, but was a goldmine of fun we still talk about years after the campaign ended. If some friends are down to learn and play with you, then absolutely don't sweat the details and have a blast.
There's also a lot of online groups playing together (especially since covid) And it's not out of the norm for a new(novice) player to join a veteran group. Some dm's may not be able to fit another person in their game for a few reasons but alot more will be willing to start a fresh campaign or write u into an existing campaign as a "new party member" for any number of reasons and then ur in the game and good to go. (Some dm's may say start at level 1 when u join: others may say my groups medium level is 4 so make your character and then we'll go through leveling u up 3x)
Hi, I've been the DM to a group of friends for 3 years now. While it is fun to DM for them, sometimes it can be tiring because most of my players are the min maxer with main character syndrome types. One of them also likes to abuse the system and cheat whenever he can.
If you're a DM how do you deal with such players?
Step 1 - make sure everyone is on the same page. Express that you’re dealing with a little bit of fatigue/burnout. It’s something a lot of DMs deal with.
Step 2 - absolutely double check with the player you’ve singled out as ‘cheating’. Let him know that it won’t fly. If he continues, counteract him. Depending on what he’s doing, it needs different results; e.g., looking up statblocks/modules, change things around. Make the illusion a real one. Put a secret room somewhere else. Give the monsters different weapons, make them use better strategies. If he’s lying about what he’s rolling, make him roll openly - make sure you know what his modifiers are and what he rolls. If all else fails… be strict with him. Don’t target his character, or prevent him from getting loot or anything, but let him know that he is on a thin line. If he still continues, then you should remove him from the group.
Honesty is always the best policy. If it gets to that point, you need to be honest with your players about why he was removed from the group - and that while D&D is a cooperative game, you as the DM need to enforce the rules of your table.
I've always been lucky that my table aren't super power-gaming min-maxxers but even if they were we all have talked with each other enough to know that the DM isn't the enemy, they just play the enemy. The DM doesn't want to kill you, they just want to make you scared. The DM wants cool, epic fights, and DnD isn't a game you "win". If you've never talked about that with your players, or this player, I reccomend doing so.
One question I like to ask my players is what kind of power fantasy they want, like why they picked a class or how they want me to roleplay their status when they're higher level, etc. What the experience they want from the game is. I take notes from it, and work to give them the story beats and experience they wanted out of it. I get hype hearing about their cool build ideas. Similarly, I get hype when the DM rolls a critical hit on me when I'm playing, because the DM wants to feel cool too.
Like the above reply, just talk to them. And if they have a power fantasy that involves lying to you or cheating the system, treating you as the enemy instead of the monsters, that's not cool and that needs to quit one way or the other.
The QuickStart of a TTRPG I’ve been keeping an eye on for so long is finally out and I’m so excited
If anyone wants to check out a super cool pirate setting with pals it’s Rapscallion RPG by Magpie Games!!
Watching the DnD movie this Sunday in the afternoon with my campaign mates, followed by a campaign run for the rest of the day
Boutta be a really fun weekend

I'm watching it tonight actually, and with my DnD homies as well. Well be missing one cuz he lives far so no playing DnD afterward (plus it'll be late)
My belated christmas gift to my DnD party was to pay for their Hero Forge (STLs) minis, and we finally started a long-term campaign for us to feel like it's worth doing. Putting all our minis together feels so cool (Mine is the warlock, second from the right)!
We're not printing with HF tho, their prices are too much. Gunna print with a 3rd party~ Super excited, this is my first time playing DnD with physical minis instead of tokens

I'm a psycho and I'll go on their website to make a mini and then just screenshot the mini to make my online tokens lol
LUL we've done that XD
Another fun app for that is Reroll, which does pixel art style character art
My cleric I made on there like 3 years ago lol. He looks so much older than he is though. Idky
a lot of my group is artists so we draw our own tokens lol
I was thinking about this idea and omg I could make her a tabaxiiii lmaoooo
my new pc in a monster of the week campaign inspired by Percy Jackson so we are all demigod teens/young adults her name is opal and she's the daughter of iris, the goddess of rainbows and messenger of the gods in Greek myth, she is a total airhead and i love her
Ooo that sounds like a fun campaign! I love Opal!
She seems so sweet and lovely! Definitely gives me "If Perfuma from She-Ra listened to K-pop" vibes
I LOVE that rpg idea!!!!
Any boardgamers in Wales, UK? 👀
Such an organized shelf also THE TABLE, love it! What's your favorite boardgame?
I do love that table
Me toooo
I'm in North Wales, you?
Hi, if anyone is in Alsace, France, me and my bf opened a Medieval Fantasy themed bar/tavern, we are a game bar (i dont know if its the right word lol), we have 70 boardgames/tabletop games, and we organise games nights sometimes !
OMG THIS LOOKS SO COOL 😍
Ah all the way in south wales!
I don't know you, and I'm not in France, but I do love you both
Aww, thanks 💙
My best friend is down your way then! I live on Anglesey and she lives in Carmarthen. It's a long way to go to visit her but the drive is definitely worth it 😄
That is a drive! I went glamping in Angelsey, I loved it
i need this in america 😦
dont we all
I’m also in north wales! Bangor 🥰
Oohh very close!

It´s just 5 hours away from me. Its near the german boarder , right? Would be a nice trip for a long Weekend.
@hybrid ether please check the #server-rules thank you
There's a place like that in San Antonio.
Do you mean knights watch?
Oh they changed the discord layout with the roles!!!
Hello, can I ask what city you're in? I'm not in Alsace, but my family is, and I know my cousins would love this place!
I'm not in Alsace neither but I'm also interested ^^
I'm gonna try and get my grandma and mom to play d&d with me at a local gamestore
I tried to have a home game once with my grandma my cousin and my Aunt once a few years ago but I couldn't figure out dming
I just need to get my d&d books out of storage (we just moved 4 hours upstate so we had to put stuff in storage until we could go retrieve it) so I can help them make characters
I'm honestly having a bit of a time coming up with my own character idea myself I have several
But omg look at these character sheets I bought from etsy!!!!!
My mom and sister are both very antisocial but my mom and grandma want me to make friends up here so I'm like come with me
I know my sister won't but they might
I feel like if mom likes it enough she might convince my sister to try it too
That's a really cool idea Serafina! ALSO YES SUCH A PRETTY CHARACTER SHEETS! Hope your mom and grandma enjoy making their characters!
I don't remember where I found it, but there's an unofficial D&D-style Legend of Zelda table-top RPG called Reclaim the Wild. I think it's cool, but it's so obscure, I think very few people have heard of it. (Also tried getting into D&D, but wanted a character first, and lack the creativity to come up with one, except wanting them to be a warrior bard.)
I saw some people doing a barbie movie themed d&d game I wanna try it so bad
Each person picked a real life barbie as inspiration for their character
Like happy holidays barbie 1995 for example
It's on YouTube by pixel circus
THESE ARE SO PRETTY oh my goodness!!! 😮
I wish I was a player more often. xD Alas I am basically a forever DM
Guys there's a new ADVENTURE TIME TTRPG coming out!!!
I'm trying to randomly generate ideas for characters to use in it
Just ordered some liquid core dice sets from Dark Elf Dice
Magic Potion Dice on Kickstarter. Pretty good deal considering my only other liquid core dice set was like $80.
The only thing is that it's a group buy on KS and I have to wait for it T^T
I dont need more dice...I dont need more dice....I dont need more dice..........I need more dice
I only have 2 sets to my name... I could use a new set... or two.... or six...
oh you definitely need more! I am not to the level of dice dragon but definitely more than I will ever use in a game lol. The blue ones would just be so perfect for my kineticist water-bender-type character....
liquid core is gorgeous
I don't know how socialize lol 😂 thank goodness for this discord or else I wouldn't have a social life 😆
I have wanted to try getting into dnd, but I don't know much about it or where to start, I don't know which one to buy, there seems to be many different versions (both board games and video games) so idk where to start, plus like I've said I don't have a social life lmao, but maybe I'll try to figure it out 🤔 do you have any tips or suggestions for what one to get?
and those character sheets are so cuute! I especially love the first one 💖
The DnD Starter kit is actually a very good pack, both for newbie players and newbie DM'ing. And they recently revamped the kit to include the campaign "Stormwreck Isle," which I have done before and is actually a pretty good campaign. It's also very easy to play it as a one-shot or expand to a larger campaign.
Highly recommended
ty! I'll look into it 👍
Then afterwards, the 3 core books are the Player Handbook, DM Guide, and Monster Manual
You can get the starter kits at places like barnes n noble, or even target and walmart
Barnes definitely has the 3 core books I think
The DnD Essentials Kit is a slightly more expansive beginner's kit than the Starter Kit, but if you're still unsure and wanna dip your toes rather than take a swim, the Starter Kit is the way to go (and if you have a good experience with the starter kit you can just skip the essentials kit and go straight to the 3 core books)
Anyone open to an online d&d game I'd like to use one of the characters I created 😆
I volunteer as tribute
I might be interested, but I have no clue what I'm doing. I've never played before, but I'm interested.
Guys check this out!!!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1690121414/the-monster-book-of-legends-for-5e?ref=project_link
I wonder if Banshees are included
Banshees already have a 5e statblock
Cool! (I don't know about 5e or anything DnD because I haven't played yet.) I love all Celtic mythology.
There's a supplement that I forget the name of that was super focused on celtic themes and mythology. I forget the name of it but Ginny Di highlighted it on her channel as a sponsor (iirc) and they still have it available for purchase somewhere.

A mostly 5e DND in here hmm :0 I'll just sit in my corner playing runequest
Hey friends, I've posted a link in the creators content channel - We are played Star Wars 5e tonight on twitch if anyone would like to come along and watch 🙂

Just got the Avatar Legends Tabletop Book, and I'm currently in the process of converting it to DnD 5e... of sorts lol
It is! I have done two playthroughs of it!
It's not so much because I don't like the mechanics of AL
It's more of an "ooo I wonder if..." sort of thing lol
I feel that
I also saw two other homebrews of avatarverse to dnd and they were.... okay.
So now I'm making my own lol
Fair! I wish you luck!
Hey
Almost 3 months later.... these dice sets are out for delivery today!!!

So excited to roll nat 1's on em!
can i have the d100 please
yes you can
thank you
M-mustard!?!?
I didn’t know you were here lol 🤣
Loll
The d100s roll a LOT before stopping, in my experience.
A dice tray might be helpful for that.
Is pokémon card game included lol
Speaking of TCGs
I just got into Disney Lorcana
And oh boy
This is a dangerous hobby lol

Guys I'm making a DragonBorn in baldur's gate 3 should I go Silver blue or copper
I'm playing white dragonborn, which a) looks cool, and b) has ice breath
Can't remember which breath weapons thoae 3 have offhand, but pick the one you think looks coolest
I did brass I think, made it extra green looking and it turned out cool
Also, unrelated, any Wanderhome fans here? I figure there's going to be at least some overlap between cozy video games and cozy tabletop games
Fair enough, they are all cool! Don't think there's really a wrong choice here 🙂
Looks
G L O R I O U S
I love it
I added custom hairs so I had to make some kind of elf to show them off with
Have her marry Wyll 😆

TY!
i'm making some dnd dice today - any ideas for colours?
Sky blue and orange!
Copper and Ice blue or am I too late lol
Also how does one make dice I wanna try!!!!!
Has anyone played the board game, Spirit Island?
Had my first go at it on Mon and failed miserably, lol.
See through with failed dice within them. Sure they won't be balanced, but it'll teach other dice a lesson.
luigi wins by doing nothing moment
my character is at the bottom left
my character has the highest speed (at that time 7)
this is the position when the haunt started
the haunt is scenario 37: checkmate
the betrayer is at upper right
OMG Betrayal at House on the Hill!!!!

anyone playing love and deepspace? im obsessed with Kitty card i wonder if there's a similar card game irl?
Ooh yes that game is pretty fun. I don't think I've played any card games that are similar enough though
Shouldn't be too hard to recreate it though!
Playing it is so fun but the amount of times i can play it in game is limited 🥲
Wow looks so good!
Omg a ttrpg channel!
So this is my character Bunnie Dionysian. She a Bard in DnD.
And her story is noble background her family decades ago made a deal with a Devil to strike it rich in the trading company buz.
And decades later a tiefling girl was born because of it. Aka Bunnie. The family not wanting their name ruined hid their daughter away. Until they could marry her off. Bunnie not fond of the idea of an arranged marriage became a run away bride, to seek honor and fortune of her own. With her musical and dance talent. 💃 her design is inspired by cotton candy.
Art by me.
Do you now a good place where a solo player can have a DnD campaign with other randos?
may i dm/pm you for this one?
Sure thing

kinda bummed because the d&d game I was gonna play this afternoon got canceled cuz we didn't have enough people to play
Truly, scheduling is the most difficult monster a group faces
sorry for late reply
may i dm/pm you for this one too?
Yeah
ttrpg about cooking with your dnd party after your adventure's wrapped up is live now! i'm really excited about it https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/evil-hat/stewpot
I backed it as soon as it came out! It's great, so cozy and chill. Also, when you become a backer you immediately receive a provisional PDF copy of the game so you can already play! 100% recommended
So my players are gonna encounter world lore I never thought I'd get to use. I'm so excited.
So my campaign, and setting are completely homebrew including the gods and devils.
And 1 goddess and devil are one in the same. Half of the year she spends as a goddess of love and healing and the other half a Devil of knowledge. And because I left the devil's alignment up in the air. One of my players has taken interest in doing good in this devil's name. To curry favor for knowledge. And all they know currently is what the common folk of the world know that this goddess and devil are twins destined to fight for eternity. I'm excited to see if they can figure out the truth behind this unholy divinity.

yoo I'm a new dm does anyone have eny advice on making a good campaign I'm doing the wild beyond the witch light
Congrats on starting out as a dm!! The only advice I have is don't get hung up on the rules too much you make them just as much as the book dose have fun with it and your players will too
Thank u for the advice!! 🐸👍
first set out of my new/used pressure pot
oooh theyre prettyyyy
Friends, while playing Tabletop and Boardgames is better in person, but did you see this news?
D&D IS NOW ON DISCORD.
Get your friends together to play all your favorite tabletop RPGs on Roll20, now available as a Discord Activity: https://t.co/DCkaK00bVc
oooh 👀
i love roll20!! u can also connect it to dndbeyond with a chrome extension & roll directly from your character sheet!

Ooou nice! I'm also just starting getting into dice making! They look so good!
@sullen island Finally got everything I need to make my very first set yesterday.... No pressure pot so I'm expecting a fail, but I'm still nervous and excited to see how it comes out later today
Pressure pot and better mold will come after I've done some training sets in this cheapo mold lol
dont worry about failing! thats how u learn! i still make sooooo many mistakes
that mold u have is actually my favorite. easy to clean and demold
That's what I heard! Supposedly slab molds are much easier to handle than other mold types
stir ur resin slowly and dont lift up on ur stir stick. itll minimize bubbles though youll be stiring longer than it says too
I tried a dirty pour with sky blue, orange, clear, and clear with silver foil... hopefully it turns out ok

i cant wait to see! you have to share it with me!
I did lowkey mess up because I poured 40mL, which is what most people say is enough for a 7-set, but I think I made sliiiiightly under 40 because I wasn't able to fully overfill the d20 and d100
So I'm expecting those to probably be most likely to have a fail
But we shall see!!
I watched like hundreds of tips videos and preparations, and the moment I actually sat in front of the whole set I was like "oh geez I'm so unprepared for this" LOL but once I started it was so much fun! Can't wait to see how it turns out
if u can id recommend getting a scale and pour ur resin by weight. sometimes the silicon cups can be a bit off
i have absolute faith that u got this!
Yeah, definitely will grow this mini studio soon™️
hopefully not a full blown addiction like me lol
and by studio I mean my parking spot in my garage LMFAO
And just a fold up table and fold up chair

if it makes u feel any better im using a folding dinner stand for a table lol
LMFAOOO THATS THE TABLE IM USING TOO

Well I'm using two of em, but yes LMFAO
The pic was taken on my normal dining table but I'm not about to use resin indoors where my windows don't open well and not enough standing fans to circulate the air anyway

i use it in a closed room and a normal fan and i aint dead yet lol
pft no

im working on 33 sets now for Christmas
Holy moly
can only do 3 in a pot at a time though
Do you make your own mold with masters?
not yet! i do want to learn though
id love to make my own masters
Where did you get your mold?? I have a nice one coming from DruidDice soon
But I don't wanna wear that one out until I get a better feel on how to do this
Since it's way more expensive than my cheapo $10 one lol
i have one of their 9 set with nordic numbers and the others like what u have come from esty user BoBoResinArt
Lmao my cheap one is from JoJoDIY on etsy too
Wouldn't be surprised if they were the same mold
probs r but hey they work very well! ive been abusing mine and they hold up very well
OOOO I was debating on getting nordic or gothic and I ended up with getting the 7 set with gothic ^^
Can't wait!
with the DruidDice one be careful if u have nails. their mold is soft and nails can rip or gouge them
i nicked mine a bit. not badly thankfully
The other mold seems thin but sturdy
it is! ive bought like 7 of them so far lol
also if u want something other than mica powder, acrylic paints work as well
The one pictured above from your pot, is that from the druiddice or the bobo mold?
thats the bobo mold
Oooooo yes my next Studio Expansion™️ is gunna be a set of alcohol dyes :3
I wanna try out the petri dish method
Wooooow and it turned out so well!
ive used alchohol dyes, mica powder, acrylic and even the bottle of acrylics for air brushs and they all work wonderfully!
Ooooo!
none have stained my molds and the colors work well
Oh wait I definitely need to get a brush and an acrylic set for numbering duhhh

Ok that first, then alcohol dyes lol
i have something that works better!
Oh?
makeup sponges
put a little dab of paint over the number then use the makeup sponge to wipe off the excess
Ooooh okay!
its been the easiest so far than trying to hand paint numbers
im going to try learning how to do liquid cores next!
Ahhhh one day I'll get there! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
I also wanna get a mold for more unique shapes
Like crystal or elongated ones
What brand of resin do you use? I'm starting off with Shebebe but I also want to try out Art N Glow
ive been using this
Oooo ok maybe after I finish off the shebebe, I'll try that one :)
It is cheaper than art n glow so that's a plus lmao
and no yellowing and has been super clear
Straight from the mold, unpolished and numbers not yet painted... and TOTALLY hiding the 1s because they got obliterated with giant bubbles tee hee... but not bad for a first time!
These r sooooo good!
Shiny ooh
uwoah
Made two more! I call these Amethyst Nebula and Sunset Sky!
Amethyst Nebula is so gorgg
Love that purple!
they didnt come out great but for a dirty pour test with high flow air brush acrylic paints it's not too bad
Oooou!
I actually really like the spitter spatter texture that d10 and d4 is giving

They did come out pretty good! My only issue is the "chipping" look and the almost stone indentions in the faces
First set I actually got around to practice polishing and actually painting all the numbers lol
nice job Mata!!
ty ty
they look so good!
homagah
So I just bought my first none dnd ttrpg
It's Avatar legends based on my favorite series ever
I'm so nervous but excited to play something new! It's a Apocalypse system of 2d6
It's very roleplay focused
And I love how simple the rules are for bending
Yessss AL is actually really fun and really pushes the bending v non-bending in a very meaningful way
It definitely is much more rp heavy than dnd imo
Personally I like the blend of battle and rp in dnd more than AL, so I have a passion project of blending the two to make an Avatar DnD module lol
I've been a Dungeon Mistress for so well over a decade as much as I love dnd I definitely need a change lol also gotta say I wish wizards of thr coast took notes from Magpie games. Cause I bought digital copies of the books on demiplane nexus (like DnDBeyond but for multiple ttrpgs) and in return that got me free copies of the hardcovers and PDFs!.
Hey there, all. I just joined this Discord and was not expecting a tabletop channel. 😄 I'm a long time GM/DM (30+ years) in a wide range of systems, not just D&D. I'm happy to share my knowledge, answer questions, or give opinions. However, I'm also not one to give it out unsolicited, so you don't have to worry about me butting in to "um, actually" on people.
a set that didnt come out what i was hoping 😅
Oooou these turned out great though!! It's like a blood marble effect
high flow acrylics are def not good for dirty pours lol
Did you do exclusively acrylic dye here??
I haven't tried using acrylic paint yet on resin other than just numbering
acrylic base white with alcohol ink red and black. the minute i dropped the black on the white i realized it wasnt gonna work out well. it started trying to separate the acrylic white
Oooof
im not sure if it's because i was using the high flow air brush acrylics or not though so imma do another test with regular acrylic paint
weill do!
oh i def gotta see those!
I have some dried star flowers I wanna try
Probably will pre-soak em in the resin to hopefully reduce bubbles
do u think a spray coat that they use to protect paintings and such would help?
Possibly? I got that clear blender alchohol drip that works really well with the bubbles so maybe that'll work too!
I'll definitely have to try to soak em before the resin thickens for sure
ive got a acrylic spray coat and was wondering if it would work lol
Ooo interesting
this stuff
The main worry is that it'll be difficult fully remove the bubbles in the flower because they were dried in their bud state, not bloom state
So I gotta be careful when trying to force the air out of the bud
oooo yeah i can see where that would be an issue
I don't wanna ruin the petals
But hey I got a bunch so we just tryin stuff lol
Probably will just keep the resin clear too, to just let the flower(s) be the star
oooo there gonna be soooo pretty!
Got the idea from one of critical role's dice I saw in a game shop in town lol
Tho I probably won't put so many in each one
Plus I only got star flower, not micro daisies lol
ill have to wait til next year but i wanna do some with the pear flowers we have!
Oooo that'd be nicee
Decided to add gold flakes.... might have added too much lol and I should have waited a little longer before putting in the flowers because they lowkey floated up XD
BUT! No void bubbles this time!!!
Their absolutely beautiful!!

omg i didnt know this channel existed 😭 hello ttrpg people 👋🏽
So I'm designing a new campaign for DnD. A Dark Fantasy homebrew world and I need some opinions
So the campaign will have several areas to make it a nice healthy length.
As it focuses on the idea of second chances, and growth.
Basically all the player characters will get a second chance at life after their village was mysteriously destroyed. Though this second chance comes at a cost of working for the witch that saved them and brought them back to life. So to really live and actually get that new life they first have to paid the debt they owe to the witch. The problem I'm having is this:
How do I decide what that debt is worth and how do I insure all the players can pay it off in a timely manner and all at the same time?
Make it a series of fetch quests. Witch wants them to bring her a number of rare items/ingredients/etc.
I was thinking of maybe having them do small quests that lead up to really big ones like collecting what remains of fallen gods.
Don't worry about the players potentially paying it off separately. They're a party; they'll be doing almost everything together so they have to pay the debt off together too. If one of them feels they should owe less for some reason (???), since they're operating as a group, it's all shared debt - doesn't matter how much debt each individual has.
If you want them to know they're making progress towards clearing the debt and that's why you want a "value" for what the debt is worth... Measure it in 'years' rather than money. They could work for her in her magical forest for X years to pay it off, or they can do this task and she'll write off some number of years as a bonus because it's dangerous.
And if for whatever reason she needs money, she can offer to write off N years per Z gold. Though I don't recommend this initially, since the players will then start comparing how much they can make using crafting/perform/profession skills over a year to what her gold-yeardebt ratio is, and you don't want players / their characters in a fantasy game complaining about how they're skilled laborers and are getting underpaid... XD
It's a great fallback option though, to get them out from the witch ahead of your initial plan. Just make them aware of something that would pay out really well and then have her say she needs money and they can buy themselves free for Q gold, 'even though your debt is worth more than that'.
There's a lot of other options to 'speed things up' or 'slow things down', too. Maybe the party actually befriends her. Maybe they piss her off and so she tricks them into taking on more years.
Honestly this has been really helpful.
Main thing is to just try to have fun with it. You're most likely going to be putting effort into designing all this, so enjoy the process.
And don't be afraid of using random tables. That's a mistake I made for the longest time -- "but random tables are dumb"; nah, they're great.
If your party decides to travel across a desert, you either have to let them get through safely, manually scan through to find good things for them to fight... Or just roll a few dice on a desert encounter table and hey they're fighting 2d4 -> 3 hyenas. Cool. Maybe that's not a fight to write home about, but the fact it happened makes the trip feel more real.
I was always put off because there's trash mobs but also like a freaking dragon on some of them. If you roll badly isn't your party just going to die?
But if you just adjust the encounter so the dragon isn't land and fight, party dies but they see it hunting nearby (and make it clear that it may hunt them if they keep walking out in the open) could be quite interesting, couldn't it?
After comprehending this [frankly kind of basic concept] I feel very silly for my previous aversion to random tables.
So luckily the party will have a Train as their home-based that's own and run by the Witch.
And I'm planning on using tarot cards to add some flare to the game. I am tarot reader so I know the cards well I'm going to use them to design and create the world around them. So luckily traveling won't be too troublesome
Eh, the traveling bit was just a random example 😛
With something like a dark fantasy, there is a chance to also just keep running them on various quests of different natures, and each one the witch telling them that it doesn't clear their debt, but they're getting close. Ever out of reach. Then, on one particularly routine or distant quest, they come back to find the train under attack. Then they have a choice to either jump in and save the witch and the home they currently have (thus paying off the life debt) or let the raiders destroy the place and start over somewhere else. Depends on the tone of the campaign, but it helps so that way you don't have to think about a particular cost or price of the debt, just a deed that is irrefutably the cost paid.
Heh. Yeah. You guys have given me a lot to work with. So now I just gotta finish up some lore basics, and find a party.
I don't play a lot of tabletop cause my friends are impossible to organise, but I got way into painting minis in the attempt 😅 I just noticed there was a tabletop channel here, so I figured I'd send a pic of a mini I just finished painting
It's Sophie the Librarian by Boneworks, I believe. I'm not 100% sure tbh, I just saw a pretty demon lady and wanted to paint her
I saw all the lovely dice making and was curious what kind of spread of tabletop accessory craftspeople we have in here?
Got a few dirty pours done. The dark blue has to be my favorite
can i list again board game cafes that is available in indonesia here or should i just dm/pm you for this one because i think i have an updated list?
Woaaa yeh DM is fine!👀 I haven't really got to check out your previous recommendations🥲 but I'm interested! Thank you!🙌
These are BEAUTIFULLL!!!
Can't believe it took this long for me to see these XD
Are these completely alcohol ink? Or a mix with micas?
theyre acrylic bases with alcohol inks
Love ittttt
The dark blue is like a deep middle-of-the-ocean
The lighter teal one is like just off the coast ocean
And the purple one is like... mystical lavender ocean lol
Did 2 test sets. The red and black with with a split cup just to see what it would do. Gonna try it again one day with something other than black cause I think it would work better than such a dark color or maybe do a florescent color instead of red
This one was a slush try with some alcohol inks I got from the local hobby store. Kinda neat in their own way but not quite what I was going for
Oooou the transluscent purple is soooo nice!
i will not ask how much u spent lol
im still waiting till christmas to get me a 3d printer so i can start making them myself 😅
Oooou that's gunna be amazing!
Maybe once you get it all settled in I'll have you be my master maker for future designs XD
It's actually not as much as I originally feared! There are some master makers that are charging an arm and a leg, but I managed to get in touch with someone who has good quality masters and is able to make me a standard set, and alternative shape set, an additional d4 shape, a pipped d6, and a spindown d20 for just about alittle more than the cost of the 5gal CAT pressure pot ^^;
Still alot but not as much as some others I've seen :X
okay now i gotta knooooow
One day I'll get a stabby shard set and chonks... but I think I got plenty to start off with for now LOL
ive been do sooooo many test sets to see what does and doesnt work. but this set came out nice! noted that acrylics just blend unless u set one color then set the other lol. i was trying to see what would work without it muddying up so bad and Mica powder was of course the winner lol
Yuppp! I did my orange+blue set as a swirl pour with clear resin as the third "color," and it turned out amazinnngg
Once I get my dice masters I might re-attempt it
i need to try that!
how did u pour yours?
I just had 3 separated cups for each color and poured them separately, switching off every so often
Kinda like a.... semi-dirty semi-split pour?
ig
so pour a color. pour clear. pour a color?
Yeah! Then cycle it again
def will try!
Blue, Orange, Clear, Blue, Orange, etc. little by little XP
Sometimes I'd pour along the edges, and sometimes I'd go along the middle, just to switch it up
I avoided using a stick to swirl it myself because I wanted to avoid them blending too much
There were parts, especially in the d8, where the clear resin took the forefront and making a landscape of sorts! It definitely gave Aladdin vibes cause it looked like a desert and the genie
there one other d20 thats gonna take me some time to do but hopefully it turns out well. gonna add some shells and koi fish in it 🙏
Oooou that sounds amazing I can't wait to see it!
Omggg!! Looks great!
i wanna get the chonk d20 and do it with that so i can see it better lol
My lil goblin artificer for our Halloween special made what was essentially Gatorade for a giant buff pumpkin man.
Artificers are fun.
Yes it's fine as long as it's within channel topic
So my Celestial Warlock evaporated an Owlbear
Aaaand she made friends with a Unicorn. :3
I love it when you can just evaporate an enemy
I did that with a Hag once
Still stands out as one of the best moments in my history as a player

Learning the Avatar legends system excited to play also nervous as a first time GM for it
Im about to have session 1 on this comming up Friday. Our DM took a year and a half break to give others a chance to DM and try and she's finally starting up again 🙂
Heehee, playing my friday session and my tiny lil half-elf assassin gal that may or may not be a werewolf chunked a big section of the encounter boss' health :3
I forgot to update here bc I have no where else to lol
Session one was great. I play a bugbear Rouge named Oat Sweetpaw. Obvious backstory but using a twisted version of goldilocks story so my parents dead and party and I took a trip to the capital to talk with some investigators then on the trip back to our home town we saw alot of residents leaving and got word it was under attack so we rushed home and it was taken over so we are currently sneaking around the town gathering survivors and setting up a counter attack to take back the town with residents help. And we are only lvl 2 lol
I just finished up a campaign where I played a Human Warlock named Andy Ree'Akt.
His Patron was a horde of imps who all pooled their power together to collectively act as a single Patron.
He referred to them as "Chat."
Yes, he was based on the concept of a Twitch streamer and I roleplayed him like a high-energy streamer. XD
its perfect lol
Ironically, though the other players appreciated the chaotic energy I brought to each session, it was actually something in Andy's backstory unrelated to his Twitch streamer gimmick that made him MVP of several sessions.
His history is that he was a Noble who was being trained as a chancery. He made his Pact with his Patron to get away from that boring life. It's also why he acts so eccentric. He was stifled by high-society etiquette and so his freedom as a Warlock allows him to act out like he always wished. But a vestige of this life is that he's a master of paperwork.
And while I thought it was his hidden Noble connections that would come back as a Checkov's gun, it turns out it his skill at paperwork that kept ending up unexpectedly useful, especially when he had every single form memorized and could forge documents to fool any bureaucrat. XD
Since the final boss of the campaign ran an evil divine carnival, Andy being able to forge paperwork to designate the party as special guests of the park was how we cleared the final dungeon. And the irony is Andy kept being forced to do what he hated and ran away from, simply because they kept ending up in sistuations where his old skills were a lifesaver. While the first time was definitely an accident, I think the DM was doing it on purpose afterwards because of what a great recurring bit it was. 😂
omg that's so clever!
Oh yeah! The DM and I had a fun system where some of our friends spectating on the campaign could act as his Patron, giving Andy little buffs or Spell Slot restorations if he did something crazy on their request. Andy even called these "bitties" and "gifted subs". XD
And in general, the imp horde acting as his Patron would reward him for entertaining them, so the more bold and crazy moves he did, the better.
"Mods, can we ban this guy?" was pretty much his pre-asskicking one-liner. XD
(Mods being what he called his party members)
I'm thinking of running a sailor campaign set on the river Styx, for souls that don't have the fee for the ferry men they are given the option to set sail on ships that float on the "river" But due to the soul count and changing population its more like an ocean. This campaign will focus more on character story, exploration, and heavy themes of mortality.
As well as a vast variety of ships take explore and take over. Due to it being a afterlife type realm it will be ships from all types of eras
As well as allowing all species from dnd as what represents one's soul doesn't have to be human.
Hell yeah, that sounds awesome!
Also would explain the classes pretty well, as one's soul may be altered by their feats and tendencies in life, fitting certain arquetipes.
It could also be explained and exemplified in universe through using greek heroes that fit eaxh class' archetype (Medea is a witch/wizard, Herakles is a barbarian, Daedalus is an artificer, etc).
Not to mention the weight that Greek and Roman mythologies assign to both feats and fatal flaws. That would be a neat thing to add to the storytelling.
Agreed! It'll be a fun game to run once I finish some lore, and figure out a day to run it on and find players lol.
I would love to help you with that, but sadly I'll be extremely busy with some work stuff for the next 80 or so days.
Although please do keep us up to date over here.
You've had a stellar idea and I absolutely want to know more about how it goes!
Aweh thanks I'll do my best to make a stellar campaign ✨️

I got dice for everyone in my dnd campaign (: (one of them is censored because it has fake blood stains and that might trigger someone)
Our characters not including my own, is a Goliath paladin that is devoted to nature so I got them the green mountain dice, a lizardfolk rogue with orange and black scales so the dice match, and a human bard based off of Jessica fletcher so they get the murder mystery dice. The 4th set of dice are for the dm, my stepdad, who’s birthstone is green like the dice (:
My own dice are an old set my dad bought me awhile ago when I first showed interest in dnd and collecting dice, they look like clear crystals so i included them into my first dnd character (this campaign is my first one) by making them some sort of power crystal that powers his prosthetic leg
Omg, I'm in love with the first one
Those r very nice!
All of them have arrived, perfect timing too! Our next session is tomorrow
WHOAAAAA this is cool!
Have yet to play it, waiting for my friends shifts to line up is a pain haha
Tell me about it! just need that one time when everything's align

So my cleric Lysandra Warden has basically faced the reality that her children are old and gone that she was asleep for a 100 years now facing the truth that she is a vampire. As well as what that means fir her future. The worst of it, is realizing her children had to grow alone and without her. Her oldest dying at 18, her middle 75, and her youngest a 108. He got to at least see her one more time as she cried over him. With him not even knowing she was his mother, he told her about how his mother stood and shielded them from the Mafia attacking them, and how brave she was. After that trauma happened, the party had to travel to her home city which had been turn into Fantasy Las Vegas with her home temple becoming a casino by same said mafia.
So a rage built inside of her as they did their mission in said temple, when they were done she hide like a boss; afterwards she set fire to the casino. Sadly the casino would survive but she got to vent out her rage without hurting the party, so that was really cool. I'm so excited to see how she grows in the coming sessions
All the while, she started to grow 2 friendships in the party with players on the opposite ends of the moral compass. And I'm going to work with those players and see if we can get a fun group dynamic going.
Right now I'd say she leaning towards Chaotic Neutral and I'm curious to see how we can tip the scales.
omfg, so our monk got Polymorphed into a T-Rex by our bard and then got Hasted by our Cleric, fighting alongside our Enlarged Fighter against a mind flayer that had transformed into a dragon... my Monday D&D campaign is nuts
WELP our cleric did a thing. She saved the rest of the party, but we no longer have a Cleric QwQ
What is this game? I’ve heard of it, but don’t know what it is.
Dungeons and Dragons?
Omg what happened to the cleric?
She alas (CW: Death) ||sacrificed herself so the rest of the party could escape a newly empowered BBEG.||
Oh damn
<@&909661844698972160>
Ty!
no. ty! deny the scammers!
I did it!
I finally put myself out there for trying a one shot in a new ttrpg
Avatar legends
Ohhhh I wanna try that aoooo bad @tame cosmos
I almost bought the book but I was like that’s crazy I have no one to play with
So... I might be a bit more than crazy then. Hehe...
I may have bought all the books...
And digital copies...
And pdfs....
With no guarantee I'd have anyone to play with.
So far only 1 of my dnd players volunteered to give it a try
I'd totally invite you but we are strangers and it's a one shot so there no guarantee I'd make a whole campaign for it. Either. Lol. Wish me luck.
Good luck!
I have so many books and no one to play them with so I’m crazy too this one was just 70 bucks 😂
Fair if you want I could see if I can send my pdf copy of the book. Lol
We got our 3 players let's gooooooo avatar legends here we come!
I don't normally make full stat sheets for enemies to throw at my players in my TTRPG system. I did for next session and told them about it. They are stoked, they shouldn't be. xD Anyone else have players in their campaigns that are way too upbeat about terrible things coming their way?
Black Tides session 2 baybee
Tonight's the big night new system avatar legends ttrpg
Juat wanted to share my current TTRPG campaigns:
- Wild West with Dragons (swords and sorcery x Wild West/Victorian era)
- classic Planescape campaign
- Cypher System the Strange campaign (aka isekai on steroids)
Wild west with dragons...
Ever tried Deadlands?
There's a region warped by out of control dark magic called the Deadlands... And I toyed with the idea of using a deck of cards for initiative, so... 😀
(I pitched Savage Worlds to the players but none had played it before and weren't really interested in learning)
Ooo. Nice. I liked the Deadlands setting, gave a neat alternate universe post US civil war
Yeah. This is set in a homebrewed world because that was easier to put together than alternative earth history, so 5E was good enough.
But my personal favored systems these days are Cypher System and PbtA. PbtA is fun because there's a subset of rules for every genre imaginable: Gothic horror, post-apocalyptic, superheroes, pro wrestling, 1970s action adventure movies...
Oooh
Hey all we are looking for players for a Sunday game every other week 4pm to 8pm EST. we are still voting on the campaign idea.
Some important facts:
We do a lot of homebrew and 5e, roleplay is more common then combat, anyone interested should be at least 20 or older as all players are in their 20s at the earliest and we do have some adult jokes from time to time. LGBTQIA+ friendly many of us are apart of the community myself included.
Any further questions feel free to reach out!
And I hope you all have a great week.
<@&909661844698972160>
Simple chonky boi. Was seeing how much the gold flakes would move
<@&909661844698972160> another sneaky one
Haven't touched dicemaking for a few months due to moving, but finally got around to it! Here's 2 WIPs :>
They’re gorgeous!!
Thank yeww! Doing the clear cast of the blank for the rose set now, hopefully it cures well! And for the shooting star set.... I'm stumped with what color I should paint the numbers. Can't do white/silver/gold without taking away from the art decors (which I should have just stuck with one color of the decor lol).
I hope it cures well too, seeing the details will look incredible (I shall pray for no bubbles
)
Very pretty
my friend took a picture of this dice set from dispel cause he visited gencon, and right now it's living rent free in my head
<@&909661844698972160>
If you can nab a cute froggy washi tape, I will make this set for you lol
tried to solo pandemic controlling 4 players at once.... sooo close

heroic difficulty btw (all epidemics used)
OMG you're amazing for doing this
my brain would explode if i play pandemic by myself
last time i play with 3 other friends we already struggling :""""
by the way try it with 4 people with the same role i use, some said its the best team composition
Not nearly as good as Mata’s but it’s acceptable!
maple leaves!!!!
Holy smokes I just now saw this super latee, but that is BEAUTIFUL!! How did you manage to keep the leaves from sinking?
Way better than what I could churn out!
its caught in the same color of the die angelina hair
uh no. ive seen ur dice ur stuff is far better lol
Oooo I see it! So the rolls of the hairs basically keep it in place
That's very clever!
with a bit of extra sparkle!
Amazinggg
I haven't been casting as much because I need to polish the other sets... I still have yet to touch them XD
I've been slacking HARD
Polishing is definitely my least favorite part of the process
i just got in some masters and inserts and started working on 2 dice projects that i hoep work
Doing my best to avoid having a "casted-but-not-polished" bucket stash.... but now it's basically put me at a standstill until I can get off my lazy butt
thats when u polish 1 set and make molds with them
Oh yea my masters are fully polished.... but cleaning up the top face is still annoying XD
mini pottery wheel?
i do so love seeing ur dice!
I have so many ideas I wanna cast, but I gotta be good and finish these sets first xP
i have no ideas and just throw things in and hope it works 😅
Aye sometimes the no-idea-sets end up becoming the most beautiful!
i did start trying to do liquid cores but have been failing
i cant get the glitter to stop sticking to the sides of the core...
Oop
Do you make your solution outside of the core?
Or do you put in the glitter first then the solution?
It helps to make the solution with glitter outside, then pipette it into the core
Unless you do that already... then idk lol
Maybe needs a different ipa, water, and glycerin ratio?
Yeah I mix it outside then pipe it in. 1:1 water and glycerin with a drop of rubbing alcohol
Hmmm odd. That should be good enough for the glitter. You using regular water or distilled?
Distilled
(For reference in future, best to use @/moderator over @/admin.)
Ah kk
After a few months of procrastination... I finally got around to polishing and painting the 2 sets! Just letting em dry and going through the final step of polishing then I can take the real pics! Soon™ lol
how do u polish urs?
Just water + zonas all the way up to teal, then paint, then white zona and meguiar's ultimate compound polishing paste :)
ah kk. was looking for easier or cheaper alternative lol
i found out vibrating tumblers can work
but those can get pricey
I know some people will do green, gray, skip blue, do pink, then do a tumbler
Yea
I got a tumbler for my bday earlier this year LOL but no media and kinda lazy to buy it
i have thumb problems so i usually dont polish
Plus my output isn't really all that fast lol I'm trying to be good at not having a bunch of unpolished sets xP
Main reason why I haven't been casting, because these sets have been waitingggg xD
i may polish a set them just make them a master set
ive been neglecting making dice since i strated a dice tree and needing to make more molds
<@&909661844698972160>
Wha happened?
scammer
Now im interested, can you tell me more?
not giving attention to the scam. also not the proper channel
Makes sense, apologies
<@&909661844698972160>
Ok after another month and a half of procrastination (LOL
) I finally did the final polish and photoshoot with this set
soooooooooo pretty!
Hopefully my productiveness will get me to finish up the flower set this week too xD
ugggghhh i have been so unproductive
That's so real, esp during the holidays
Plus my garage is starting to get cold, I hope when I get back to casting my stuff still cures :V
I don't get snow here, so it should be ok?
it should be fine. it should just take longer to cure as long as it doesnt get freezing temps
<@&909661844698972160>
im soooooo jelly
just ordered me a tumble for the dice polishing! gonna get back into making more molds after i clean up some current dice to use as masters!
Woo hoo!!
I uhhh.... ordered more masters
I ordered a set of mini dice XD
The d20 is only 10mm
For context, my normal d20 is 22mm
I think imma just use a set of dice I have as masters for now. Get one nice and polished with the tumbler and be good to go!
Nope. My dragon hoarding does not like. All the shiny click clacks r mine
I may give some out as gifts but that's it. Plus I ain't no where good enough for selling them lol
Wym you're better than me at it
The heck I am! Ur last set of dice is flipping amazing!
Nah. I have far more reject dice than nice looking ones
<@&909661844698972160> not sure whats going on but they @ everyone in 2 channels that ive seen so far
edit: looks like a lot of the channels
<@&909661844698972160> icky scam
<@&909661844698972160> icky scam
Character idea I just thought of for my d&d birthday party on the 14th of March
An idea I had for a puffin aarakocra fathomless warlock (spellcaster who gets its powers from a higher being in a contract, in this case Chuthulu)
Aarakocra are bird people, And theoretically they can be any bird... So I'm thinking puffin because its a sea bird (and can meet creatures like Chuthulu) and they're cute
Its not necessarily Chuthulu either, I'm just using it as an example, I was thinking some merfolk demigod made a deal with her for her to explore the surface world in their name and report back information every so often
oooh thats a cute idea!
Since you talk about d&d, may i ask a question?
I wanna play d&d so much. Can we play it online or we should play with the game master f2f?
im currently playing my first ever dnd session in a forum style on discord. but thats just cause most of us r working/busy so it gives everyone time to chime in when they can
uuuu interesting!
its been going pretty well! theres even a dice roll bot that discord uses if your afraid people might "cheat"
I currently am in two campaigns. One in person and the other using Discord, Roll20, and D&D Beyond for character sheets. Use whatever works best for the group!
Thank you for the information guys! means a lot for me
if anyone is interested in the dice bot it's called Avrae. has pretty good roll commands
I also just thought maybe a Satyr monk?
Could use the hooves as extra weapons in her martial arts?
oooh i think u can use ur horns
i think it might be up to the dm. im not seeing at least form book stuff where hooves is used as a weapon
Ohhh
this is what i found
https://www.worldanvil.com/block/420959
5e.14 had an official Satyr option (https://2014.5e.tools/races.html#satyr_mot), but to clarify; any part of your body is valid for unarmed strikes, fists, knees, elbows, headbutts, etc. It's typically only notable if your race allows you to roll damage for it (in .14, unarmed strikes is 1+STR mod. Having specifically noted claws, talons, sharp teeth, etc., would give you a d4 or rarely a d6 instead)
True
Could be a dragonborn monk and be the LITERAL dragon warrior (with added bonus of a breath weapon)
That goat emoji is adorable
it is. sadly will soon be unable to use it since i dropped nitro
Noooo
but yeah figuring out what characters i want as what has alwasy been a dilema for me
and then i end up with a massive book of characters
Same I'm so indecisive
on the bright note it can lead to some really funny characters!
I made two wheels one for class and one for race, hence the satyr monk
so far my favorite has been a old lady Kenku warlock who summoned her patron by cooking
😆
Kenku warlock sounds amazing
Crow witcccch
Too bad they don't talk they just mimic or I'd use kenku
i wrote her up that the patron enjoyed her cooking so much it gave her her powers but she's classic old lady unafraid of anything that she only call the patron "dog" or "goodest boy". patron is demogorgon
im okayy with it since i dont overly talk much sometimes
Oh
Whoaaaa
Creepy
yeah but its fun though. got some good stats off of random rolls with her too and shes been pretty fun
but yeah if u cant decide on just 1 character make them all!
can never have too many!
Attention gamers and watchers of streams, my best friend just started at twhiche~ channel and I would love to see it supported
Are they streaming DnD sessions??? I'm interested👀
You can share the stream link here too so people can see them :3 https://discord.com/channels/623097219628662784/818696980171718667
Def a good idea I'll bring the idea to m'lord and see what he thinks!
I'm in a streamed Starfinder game and last night's session was so good!
hi - little new here but - if someone want play ttp rpg i might run some game - maybe not nesesery D&D (not fan of mechanics). I use to DM looots of games and i miss it so maybe one day :P
Finally got another set done :>
What a gorgeous color scheme!
Thank youu! Really liked how this one turned out!
Was debating on a shimmery or darker gold as the top face, but went with a softer gold instead.
Forbidden candies!!
Wonderful maraca makers ~
So pretty~
I put them in a little clear box and go nuts :3
My partners hate me giggles
It is~
But sometimes I throw the pointy ones when they make me mad 030
Or "accidentally" drop them and then can't find them
LOL
Always a problem when someone loses their caltrop d4
Worse than stepping on lego lol
Mmhmm~ for the victim anyway :3
i was planing to do set of dice witch origami inside but i have problem witch making molds
Ooou with those you'd probably be best to use blank molds first then numbered
It definitely is a practice to make molds, but it's relatively easy as long as your masters are in good condition!
most of my problems are due to lot of air in resin. i have low presure vat but i cant do good cast ... i feel usless
Oof. Yeah it's pretty hard to get bubble-free dice without a proper pressure pot
What's a low pressure vat? :o
i ment pressure pot. im not fluent in english enough
Oh no worries! What PSI are you running your resin?
mostly i tried the near vacum and it works good but i used premaded molds without place for additional resin so end up with missing parts
before when i used it for jewelry it works greate
Hmm oh you mean a vacuum chamber?
Like those things that you put the cup of resin in before you pour into the mold?
yes that and afrer that i keep it in vacuum sory again
No worries!
Yeah vacuum chambers work great for shallow pours, like jewelry
But dice is considered a deep pour, so you'll need a pressure pot, not a vacuum chamber to get bubble free dice :(
well hopefully next week i got nice job and then i will buy one
So it normally goes:
Mix Resin > Pour into Mold > Cure inside Pressure Pot for 24 hours > Bubble Free Dice!
Whereas with the Vacuum Chamber:
Mix Resin > Vacuum Chamber to remove bubbles for 10~15 min > Pour into Mold > Cure in normal air > Bubbles still in Dice :(
Are you using epoxy or UV resin?
epoxy. uv i prefer to use in printer
Yeah epoxy is pretty much your best bet for dice anyway
Well, that and a pressure pot lol
thanks for info
Good luck!
trying to paint something for trench crusade (propably i will not play them :p )
Oooou love the color details
also the dirt and grass at the bottom omg that's so cool!
next pigeon inspired armors
how do you get that color for the armor? Do you mix the paint or did you paint it layer by layer?
mostly layers here with some mixing on palet to have little harmonisation
i wish someone would made stl files from Coral Island (characters minis :p ) .... i would like to paint them but i just start lerning blender so it would be loooong time :p
lol that would be cute tbh!👀 I will be able to bring my mini semeru everywhere🥺
wait i just realized, did you 3D printed all of those minis yourself then? 😮 that's cool
print yes not design it
awesome!
what material did you use for the printing?
for minis uv resin for terrain peaces and other less detailed works pla/petg on fdm printers
work in progress
nice. realy like that purple
i tryed to paint that ghost but my sanity go on vacation
forbidden candy 😂
so i trying paint on ...
WOW I can see so many cool things in the background too! did you make all of that by yourself??
i printed them and working on them (that is rest of the british themed warband to trench crusade) i dont have life and painting is a thing kinda keeping me alive
Honestly your work is seriously amazing tho
I’m really glad you found something you enjoy doing, because your work honestly deserves to be seen more. Keep it up 🫶
Thanks a lot ;)
