Nothing wrong with a solid colour background for a character showcase. The Persona 5 and Catherine official artworks, for example, look great with it’s minimal designs. Maybe decide what your most dominant colour is or have a colour palette of three of your most dominant colours on your character and play around with that? Using the colour from your character's eyes would look pretty cool too! Your art looks great btw! 😊✨ 9/10

This is probably the biggest art project I've EVER done: these are the children of Nat'aa, the goddess of nature from one of my stories. In age order, they are: Polyllit (Summer, Bottom Right), Oricollia (Autumn, Top Right), Tulenia (Spring, Top Left), and Rizu (Winter, Bottom Left)

Uhm, I'm not sure if this helps, although I don't have any specific artist that I follow, but I often search in deviant arts for tutorials and references, and you can also find speed paint or tutorial vids in youtube. Goodluck!

Well to be more specific, since it has been over 4 years since I last drew anything (let alone on a digital surface), I suppose a refresher on anatomy would be fine, eve though I have a few books from my 2D Animation Uni degree course days I can look up to refresh myself there.

But in terms of digital art, I'd say a good amount of it all. Colouring, shading, drawing clean line art, just a good basis to make quiality, professional looking digital art so then I can expand upon it with my own style when I figure that out over time.

yes! its reeeeeally easy to made, you only need a few "rare" ingredients like surfactants that can be bought online. For me the coolest thing is to customize the recipes according to the person. This one, for example, was for my boyfriend. Mine is made with coconut oil, henna and hibiscus

Ok, I'm going to try and translate everything into english 🤞
Ingredients
-50% surfactants (I use SCS 20% and SCI 30%)
-10% oils or butters (8% if hair is "oily" already)
-10% mineral water
-30% herbs or other ingredientes

Example
-SCS: 20gr
-SCI: 30gr
-Shikakai: 10gr
-Moringa leaf powder: 10gr
-Dandelion powder: 5gr
-Green clay: 5gr
-Jojoba oil: 8gr
-Water: 10gr
(Plus essences and essential oils, in this case 10 drops of teatree essential oil and 10 of cedarwood essential oil)

Process
Mix powder ingredientes in a bowl, add liquids and rest of ingredients and mix with your hands (use gloves and mask) like if making bread dough. When the texture is elastic and a bit like plastiline, give it form with your hands or using a mold and let it rest in the fridge for... 24 hours more or less. Then it will be hard like a stone and ready to use :)

If I may give a bit of my thoughts: I think you could tone down on saturation, but change the char's skin tone to a warmer one. I dunno a thing about pixel tho, but there are quite a lot pixel art in internet to help you with colors. I wish you luck!

From my story 紙の薄い完璧 (Kami no Usui Kanpeki) or “Paper Thin Perfect”. A story about a post apocalyptic world where 80% of the human population is wiped out while the rest have dealt with bodily mutations say for except the “Perfects”, humans that were never mutated. The story about a young man, who hides that he’s a perfect by wearing an eyepatch, that tries to help he researcher companions change what is left of the world for the better. loosely based on the aarly written versions of the bugis creation myth: la galigo/sureq galigo

(basically: there were written versions made in old bugis text back in the dutch colonial era of indonesia, but many of the oldest versions have decayed or been eaten by insects over time. additionally not a lot of people can read old bugis apparently? and only parts of it have been translated into indonesian and even less into english? anyway, the idea of something as important a creation myth being nearly lost to time and decay seemed mysterious and compelling to me. of course the real version is still told verbally and well-known in the modern day)
