Pizza night! All the garnishes are ready and the dough finishing to rise ๐
That's one downside/upside of living in the far-off countryside: no pizza delivery BUT then you learn how to make pizza dough so now you can have pizza whenever, of a better quality and for a lower price.
DONE ๐
I swear the left one isn't fluorescent ๐ my phone just did a weird light capture ๐
POTATTTTOOOOOOO ๐ ๐
Glow stick pizza ๐
Mushrooms on pizza is so ๐คค
My work had a lot of leftover stuff and we aren't open tomorrow so I was given a crap ton of leftovers ๐๐ฅ
Ignore the fact that it's on my floor ๐ญ I just got done w a 9 hour shift and just laid on the floor cuddling the leftovers for a bit ๐
Itadakimasu~
uu i love this type of meal, very simple yet fulfilling๐คค
is that brownies? XD
watashi mou~ ๐
It was this giant oatmeal full sized sheet pan brownie that we did a sale on with the extra oatmeal we had ๐ญ it was so big.
Broo mouth is watering, that looks so good ๐คค
Always been a fave of mine too. ๐ And maybe 2-3 extra servings of pickles. I love those ๐คฃ
A local Philippine snack ๐
Yea it ain't the prettiest true. But it is chocolate porridge. The chocolate used is straight from cacao tablets ๐
It is 5am and I got a lil hungry.
Gotta add that we sometimes eat this with dried salted fish. xD
Yess pls
Do you have any specific type of pickles for this type of meal too?๐คค
Takuan (yellow radish) and cucumber ones called kyurizuke and the shibazuke (pink colored one) are also some of my other faves with this. ๐
Unfortunately a lot of Japanese restaurants here stopped serving those. My photo has asazuke which is a quick mix veggie pickle.
A store told me they often had to throw out other types of pickles since people left them on the plate. ๐ฉ
I have 2 glass containers of takuan in my fridge.
oooh yayaya I love kyurizuke!!!
sad to hear some people dont really like it, but i understand tho๐ฅน personally, i like snacking on pickles as long as it's not too sour :> i like food with refreshing taste i guess
Yea. I also like em crunchy ๐
omg if you like crunchy pickles i think you're gonna love this. This is called Asinan, though not 100% similar to pickles, its fresh crunchy veggies in sweet-spicy-tangy sauce, and it's AMAYZING!
I saw someone asked about es cendol, so tadaaaa!
It's basically a drink (think of boba tea!), and yup, its coconut milk + palm sugar syrup, and 'cendol' actually refers to the green jelly thingy! it's slightly chewy though to me it doesn't have noticeable flavor ๐ฎ aaand depending on the people selling it, they usually include minced jackfruits too<3
This actually looks amazing
Hope I can try this at some point
Is the green jelly thing made from pandan leaves?
yus! traditionally iirc it's made by mixing rice flour with blended pandan leaves or suji leaves <-- i dont think this one has an english name๐ญ
I think in Canada we only have frozen pandan leaves, so Imma give that a try at some point
I actually wanna try to make the Indonesian foods mentioned in this game, they all look so nice
uuu cant wait to hear what you think!
honestly same, all the in-game foods made me tried lotsa different cuisine since last year, and Im loving everything I ate so far heheh
CENDOOLLL I WANNTTT
<@&909661844698972160>
In my Emma cosplay currently at a panel about the history, types, and how to make Ramen. Fascinating.
So interesting thing. I thought taro root kimchi was only a thing from this game
But apparently it exists
I didn't know you can make kimchi from taro root irl
But I think it's worded as "root kimchi" on the internet
this is on of my favorite sweet
Cocoa nibs are so good ๐คค those looks divine
A bakery near me had cake tacos and coconut water w matcha cold foam... I folded since I got paid Friday ๐
I needed a pick me up after the Easter rush at my job. ๐ฅ
The food photos you share always make my mouth water!!
Thank you so much ๐๐ I love coming on here and seeing all the stuff too. It's cool being able to all just share our food
some white bread I made today๐ฅฐ
Oooooo!!! It looks so fluffffffyyyy! And that golden brown is perfect! ๐ค
aww thank youuu iโve been really working in the quality of kneading and itโs made a huge difference!
I don't know how people on this server will react to this, but this was the Easter Sunday Feast my parents and I had for 2026.
Gimme the chocholate cakeeee ๐
I can provide a PDF copy of the recipe; just let me know.
Id love a copy if you donโt mind?
Here it is.
tysm!!
Thank you!!
I made spicy squid for the boyfriend (I don't like spicy XD I'll have grilled fish with Timut pepper ๐ )
Yum! Looks so vibrant ๐คฉ What sort of spices?
Sharp paprika (I'm not sure if that's the actual name in English) and red Kampot pepper (on top of the non-spicy spices - English is confusing ^^)
I've always wanted to try squid, how would you describe it?
This looks so yummy ๐คค I love spicy food
I've had frozen squid a few times in this pre-seasoned thing I used to buy.... a little chewy (probably due to being frozen, which is fine as I can't exactly get fresh squid where I'm at) but it soaks up flavor rather well from seasonings and such imo.. shrugs
So I accidentally made 24 pounds of babka instead of 6 at school today ... 20 giant loaves later.... Here we are ๐
bit of a "fishy" taste, but honestly tastes like if you just added fish oil or such to something to me, nothing too strong if seasoned right
Ugghhh so it's flavorful then? The chewy part makes sense, esp if frozen. I'll have to try it sometime
Ill have to see if my local store carries frozen, the only restaurant I know that serves it is 40 minutes away ๐ฅ๐
I managed to get it in this skillet dinner kind of thing. Like those frozen, one skillet meals you can cook. When I first bought it, I didn't read the dish had squid in it, made it, saw those rings and was confused XD looked at the packaging and grew skeptical as it was squid (and I'm still a bit of a picky eater; nothing like when I was a kid, though)
But, I still gave it a shot and it was not as bad as I thought
If you can get it uncooked, boil it long enough and it won't be chewy anymore XD
Then fry and season as you like ^^
What would be recommended as long enough though??
Until it doesn't feel rubbery anymore when you pierce it with a fork ^^ It can take anywhere between 45mn-2h, depending on the squid, as far as I've noticed ^^ I know some people steam it instead but I've never tried
<@&909661844698972160> I feel like this is Spam??
This is one of my favorite snacks too! ๐ I remember when I visited Thailand, their unripe mango was sooo good, definitely my favorite!
I've never had unripe mango before, how does it compare to ripe mango? (Not sure there's anywhere around me to get the unripe version ๐) The shrimp paste pairing sounds like a compelling pairing. Does it work as well with ripe mango too?
Ripe mangoes are sweet with a smooth, soft texture, while unripe ones are more sour and crunchy. But there are many types of mango... some are naturally less sour and extra crunchy, making them really mouthwatering to eat, even when theyโre not fully ripe.
The shrimp paste pairing usually works best with unripe mango because of the sourness, but some people do enjoy it with ripe mango too depending on the flavor!
In Indonesia, we sometimes eat unripe mango with dips like palm sugar (sometimes mixed with chili), or just salt and chili, which makes it even more addictive ๐
I saw those before on tiktok, how does it taste? I know unripe mangoes are sour, I think they put some spices on it?
yeah, it really comes down to preference XD
itโs sour, a bit crunchy, and then with the spices it becomes a mix of salty, sweet, spicyโฆ kinda addictive honestly ๐
Unripe is sour. The mango type I have gets real sour and crunchy when unripe.
This same mango gets soft and sweet when ripe.
As for the shrimp paste, it is a nice contrast. We even have sweeter shrimp paste versions or spicy.
My mom likes to put shrimp paste on both unripe and ripe haha. Sour+salty or sweet+salty.
That snack that hurts you but it is just so addicting haha.
I cut em up and toss em in the microwave to get crunchy. (just make sure to mix em so they don't burn between heating)
Best sushi
Is it a Sushi or Doughnut? looks tasty
Hot sushi
like Raina?
Like Agung ๐คฃ
So I got snake fruit for the first time, can someone tell me how you're supposed to eat those? ๐
gonna tag @muted gull, she talked about eating fruit before
Hiiiiii
Sooo.... to eat snake fruit, youโll need to peel off the spiky outer skin first. Once you open it, youโll see segments inside (kinda like garlic cloves).
Each piece has a thin, papery skin on it.... you can peel that off, or just eat it as is ๐ You donโt need a knife, you can just bite into it.
Just be careful, thereโs a seed in the middle!
meeeeee, on of my comfort fooood~
I'm thinking of germinating the seeds
But I don't think snake fruit tree can survive in Canada ๐
Made home made sesame and orange chicken for me and hubby
That looks scrumptious!
Night snack ๐
Fresh strawberries; fresh homemade lemonade with homemade strawberry syrup; and homemade white chocolate and strawberry cookie โบ๏ธ (can you tell it's strawberry season AND I have an extended weekend?)
After an absolutely non-photogenic meal of blood sausage, camembert potato mash, and cooked spinach XD
Meal by the waterfalls.
Me trying to figure out where the food is on the buffet tables ๐คฃ ๐คฃ ๐คฃ
(this was the sauce and alcohol display)
eating with that kind of nature scenery must be so relaxing though ๐
Once we settled in under a strong electric fan lol. It was a hot day.
this place kinda reminds me of somewhere in Puncak, Bogor Indonesia.
you can enjoy food right by the river / waterfall too, itโs so peaceful and cool there ๐
There is one by the river too but I saw it right before we left. So I could only run by and take a few pics. ๐
So beautiful and peaceful! You can even kayak there?? amazing!!
I feel like I really need to visit a place like that someday, do you mind sharing where it is?
Not exactly a kayak. It is like a cross between a kayak and a bamboo raft. It is in Quezon Province, Philippines. The place is called Villa Escudero Plantation and Resort.
I made a blueberry and almond pie! ๐
That's the intermediary layer: almond cream and lotsa berries ๐
MOUTH WATERING ๐คค
Japanese place opened in the mall I work at yesterday. Found out they had takoyaki and could not resist.
Oooo, I like the brown sauce on that takoyaki
I didn't like it the first time I had it (not because of the Octopus, shockingly, but because the place I got it from, their brown sauce was too watery and pooled all over the bottom of the takoyaki. The Octopus was actually good)
Oh, I totally agree, the sauce should be thick.
that has ๐, correct?
Yes, octopus balls.
Agreed as, it pooled and runny ruined them for me... as it was just too much of that sweet/BBQ sauce like taste and just... no....
Hope I can find a good place that makes them better for my second try
I got them at an anime themed ramen/sushi place in the Panama city area in Florida
Decided to try them in honor of Fatgum from MHA since it was an anime themed place (food was good, just that sauce ๐ข)
I could usually make it myself in the past, but the pan I have only works with gas flame stoves and now I have electric. sigh
To answer the eyes lmao
It was called Dragon Bowl in Panama Florida
And yes, Imma Fatgum simp~ that man is just.... amazing~ (Hawks simp and a slight Shigaraki simp too lmao)
I wouldn't even know where to start to make them myself, especially with finding Octopus here in KY
Nice. Haven't seen much of MHA, but a lot of my friends like it. And most of the time I use the canned stuff in the Goya section of the grocery store since there's not many places I can get to. I just wash the sauce off the marinara ones.
Are you guys talking about My Hero Academia? ๐
Todoroki is definitely my favv ๐ฅ ๐ง
Yes, we were
I was saying how since I was at an anime themed ramen/sushi bar that I tried Takoyaki in honor of my favorite (well one of my favorite) MHA professional heroes, Fatgum :3
Fatgum is absolutely adorable! Eating a bunch of delicious food to gain power is honestly the best motivation. Hope you enjoyed the Takoyaki! ๐
I didn't mind the texture, like I said (which was shocking as I normally don't like slimy food)
But, the brown BBQ like sauce was too thin and pooled at the bottom of the takoyaki and just bathed the bottom half in it and made it not so good
Oh no, soggy takoyaki drowning in thin sauce definitely ruins the vibe! ๐ญ Itโs definitely supposed to be more crispy-creamy than slimy. Next time you've gotta try it at a spot that serves it super fresh and crunchy! ๐
The creaminess always feels slimy to me when it has a hard exterior
Even chocolates with a "creamy" center lmao
I blame my neuro-spicy brain
But, I didn't mind the "slimy" of takoyaki, just the overwhelming taste of the brown sauce
Yummy dinner ๐
Grilled beef with basil and red Kampot pepper; burrata and salad; and delicious strawberries ๐
it's rather hard to share foodie stuff during this pandemic heh
my wife 2 months ago started selling tiramisu. If she makes too many, it belongs to me. I'm happy.
Oooooh
I'm jealous!
So, here are my ingredients: https://i.imgur.com/ZsXlYC3.png 2-ish pounds / 1 kg of beef stew meat (mine was a block of beef breast meat, but most places you can get it pre-cubed) 4-5 potatoes, cubed 4 celery sticks, roughly chopped 4 medium carrots, peeled and roughly choppe...
Two of my favorite recipes that I typed up and made shareable, lol
oh man, I miss beef stew. Used to like it back in the states, but not a popular dish in Indonesia.
I make a huge batch of it (from the recipe) and then I freeze a bunch. then my husband and I have it for the rainiest of days, or super cold winter evenings where you want something warm and hearty. ๐
Good morning/afternoon from Indonesia, here's my brunch which was supposed to be breakfast ๐
Porridge โบ๏ธ
I want porridge ๐
Easy to make, but easier to order from a restaurant lol
I need to get some new recipe, I'm getting bored with take-outs ๐
is that pink bits bacon @random basin ?
Yes:-)
sooo juicy
Apparently Iโve been doing breakfast wrong my whole life ๐ฆ
Itโs ramen ๐
Chicken stock onion garlic carrots bacon
I probably forgot something
Red pepper
omg is that homemade rameennn
never had ramen with bacons before
does the bacon go well with the ramen?
It was so good
@naive trench sooo sooo good. The bacon gave it that last bit of crispy saltiness over the semi sweet broth
did you make it by yourself?
Hold on lemme ss the recipe lol
Apparently Iโve been doing breakfast wrong my whole life ๐ฆ
@mighty sigil LOL I mean if you compare western breakfast and asian one ๐
but hey you get pancakes
haha! i made it mself yeah. not like homemade noodles and stuff but the rest
https://www.netflix.com/id-en/title/80175348 I'm watching this as the spammer was mentioned ๐
oooooh that's a good show
I just get back from sweet heavens guys, can't be too mad ๐ผ
i forgot the name again
In sweden we have "managryns-grรถt" Wich is my favorite we eat that with milk and jam I use raspberry. My second favorite is "havregryns-grรถt" Wich is just oatmeal. Can be eaten with milk and raspberry jam or with cinnamon and apple I also like mine pretty salty for a good flavor
Also in sweden we have flat pancakes flat and big as a food plate. We put whipped cream (not from can but made by hand) and then we put jam in it aswell
We don't have those fat pancakes with sirsp and butter on
Well we can make em if we won't but no one hardly does sometimes maby
We also have "plรคttar" Wich is super cute tiny pancakes
There's a saying "lรคtt som en plรคtt" easy as pie
that's cute and sounds delicious
I actually bought it ๐
It's like 4 sweets all in one, with its own sweet soup
So you'll have to make 4 different dishes then the "soup water for it"
Damn that looks good lol
Anyone an avid green tea drinker? I'm trying to find a new blend to power my days ๐คฃ
Arepas?
I had to google that, never had one before lol
You have discovered the Best breakfast evah
Welll isn't that quite the tease haha -- where is the dish originally from? Looks like Venezuela?
https://panamericanworld.com/en/magazine/travel-and-culture/venezuelan-arepas-worlds-best-breakfast/
Welll isn't that quite the tease haha -- where is the dish originally from? Looks like Venezuela?
@red forge yup
Warning you wont stop if you taste a Good one
LOL it literally reads best breakfast, you weren't kidding. I don't think i can get any here, but seems like i can try making some.
You know what, i'll try make some and post pics sometime -- for breakfast do you eat it plain? I see one here where they put an egg inside
Thanks @kindred wyvern -- have learnt something new today!
Thats the joke, you can "choose" what you put inside lol. Could be simply as butter, eggs and cheese or Maybe some pork or something else. It isnt hard to do, just a little bit of practice and its very cheap.
Gluten free
Whenll you taste that, you will be ready for mission 2. Hallacas
Wonderful -- well, im sure the ones i make wont be as good, but i'll try it anyway. I've jotted this down for when i am in a more international place, like Bali, im sure they have some there lol
Oh damn this Hallacas reminds of something they have in Indonesia, though i am terrible with names so forgot what they are called ๐คฃ
Lol for sure you will find some corn flour
Oh damn this Hallacas reminds of something they have in Indonesia, though i am terrible with names so forgot what they are called ๐คฃ
@red forge loool
If you give it a shot and need some help, just pm me
Alright i think its time for me to have breakfast, bad idea looking at these pics before eating.
And will do @kindred wyvern, thank you!
Name is Lemper @red forge , it's like Hallacas, but with Rice instead of Corn Dough
Good morning ๐คฉ
What is this bowl of beautiful goodness?
it's chicken coated with buttermilk
at least that's what the description from the cafe said haha
My friend said the leaves are curry leaves
the veggies and meat looks amazing but God damn that bread is golden PERFECTION
It's an onion baguette from the grocery store. One of the ones you buy and then finish baking in the oven at home? So good
An omelette coated with mushroom sauce and bread toast, crazy delicious!!
oh man, mushrooms, right around lunch time too
That looks good and quick to make I'll try that next week ๐คค
My dinner last night. We call it as geprek here
Basically fried chicken mashed with bunch of raw chili then you eat it with rice ๐คค
You can choose how many chili you want. I usually choose around 5-7 chili
thats some crazy amount of chilli @naive trench
Lately I've been rewarding myself after a week good work by buying myself Bubble Tea ๐
Thatโs a great reward. We had boba for our guests at our wedding ๐
With rice?
No, unfortunately ๐ But I made sure to thicken the sauce in place of ๐
I can't imagine eating it without rice ๐
๐
How do you eat it tough? Wrap the chicken with the leaves? ๐ค
I'd put in a bowl with a little of the sauce, then pieces of chicken over that, and mix the spinach through ๐
I'd've just mixed the spinach in and made it a chicken korma spinach salad for a low carb option! ๐
ahhh, I miss Pho. It's very rare in Indonesia, and a good spot i know closed down because of the lockdown ๐ฆ
Partner made bolognese... let it reduce for like 7 hours before we ate it. We gussied up a bake-at-home baguette with some herb butter as well to go with it.
We make it. we buy frozen "Italian herbs" as a mix from the grocery store, and just melt a knob of butter and throw the herbs in. voila. "home made" herb butter. ๐
oooooh
costs a lot less than buying actual herb butter though. and we'll put minced/crushed garlic in sometimes too
i could do that with herbs from the garden
Yeah!
could use nutellex too, to keep it non-dairy ^_^
that's exciting
i'll be sure to post a picture if i make it work
Please do!

That looks so gooodddd
This warms my soul. Quesadillas in the fall are like watermelon in the summer โฅ๏ธ
But if Iโm being real...quesadillas are the right choice all year long.
Mmmmm
That doughnut looks delicious!
We made homemade fried chicken last night, with fries and baked beans! Tonight, spaghetti and Meatballs. Tomorrow, "Christmas dinner" at my request since it's my birthday tomorrow, lol
those look amazing!!
Mmmm, pumpkin pie ๐ฅง
yoooooooo why did i pop in here lol
because you deserve to see some amazing pies
LOL, and thank you! It's Thanksgiving in the US today, and since I'm an American living in Germany, I celebrate too (because it's my favorite holiday!)... so yesterday was baking and cranberry sauce and butchering my turkey and making stock. ๐ which simmered for the last.. 12 hours or so?
And today is stuffing, duck-fat roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, green beans with bacon, honey dill carrots, and of course, roasting the turkey!
Oh man that sounds amazing, even though I just had lunch ๐
French fruit pie
what is the yellow one? Is that Apple?
Looks like the yellow thing might have had a large seed or something? (On the right side of the pic)
it might be mangos
I suspected that too, but wasn't sure due to the color
Mango
Strawberry, mango, kiwi, blueberry, raspberry, pastry cream accompanied by a little sugar a real delight.
Vegan nachos, was actually really good
My wife cooked this today, it's called "Ronde". The soup is ginger taste, so warm ๐
Are the balls stuffed with something??
No @tender hornet ๐ฆ hahaha, so good if stuffed with peanuts right
I never had with peanuts before! I've only had a Vietnamese version, sometimes filled with mung bean paste (called "chรจ trรดi nฦฐแปc" if it has filling, "chรจ แป" if it doesn't)
https://danangcuisine.com/recipes/recipe-57-che-troi-nuoc-glutinous-rice-balls/
Ummm, yeah, this is also good! I only had one from supermarket tho. But really glutinous rice balls any day ๐ป
Is that what they are? Thought they might have been tapioca pearls.
Then is the colouring just food dye or some sort of flavouring?
Had me googling there lol it's a "Glutinouos Rice Flour", which is a bit different than Tapioca Pearls
Yeah, it's food coloring, I saw some of it used when they made this
Yeah. My past experiments with glutinous rice flour only got as far as making ice cream mochi
This channel hurts right now ๐ฅบ I just had sinus and septoplasty surgery and havenโt been able to have more than broth and tea. But soon as I can breathe and taste again Iโm making those vegan nachos ๐ I want all of it actually ๐
@dapper grail is that herdez guacamole salsa on top?
Yes, I love that so much
Same! I eat it with anything I can get away with. Mostly eggs though. With some Ezekiel toast to soak it all up.
Iโve been trying vegan in 2020 so Iโve been experimenting with different foods. And I came across that salsa.. so delicious
Thatโs awesome, I did it for a while like 10 years ago but I donโt think they had as many options as they do now.
Yeah I can say it has been easier since allot of YouTube videos have recipes. Canโt say I would do this forever but I wouldnโt mind eating this way majority of the time
We actually have this in Vietnam. It's usually stuffed with mung beans.
The ginger taste along with coconut milk is just perfect
I tried to look this up online because Iโve never seen this before but I canโt find it. What are those balls made out of? This looks so good
Just google โronde soupโ, โronde gingerโ, โglutinous rice ballsโ etc
Glutinous rice flour
https://dailycookingquest.com/wedang-ronde-glutinous-rice-balls-in-ginger-syrup.html
The recipe I shared here is a Vietnamese version with optional mung bean inside instead
I always look up "______ recipe" as my first search term when looking up new foods cuz food bloggers are godsends, haha
Oh okay, seems like I needed to type glutinous rice ball and now I see it... thanks!
For some reason the word ronde brings up a campground, casino and a prairie in my area lol
"ronde recipe" worked fine for me
it's chewy and warm, and is a relatively healthy dessert, I think? if you like stuff like mochi or dango, you might wanna give this stuff a try
Thanks! Iโve never had mochi, this channel teaches me something new everyday
Homemade Prawn Laksa ๐
Slow Cooker Cream Cheese Chicken Chili is a little bit spicy, a little bit savory and a whole lot of perfect! Chicken perfectly cooked, topped with veggies and spices and then smothered in smooth cream cheese will definitely warm you up! Chili is a beloved dish, itโs homey, comforting and super satisfying. If youโre lookingโฆ
....interesting
Have you tried it? Is it good?
Yes! I made it last night for dinner. It was a huge hit in my house. We topped it with shredded jalapeno cheese and I used 4 chicken breasts instead of 2 so I used 1 and a half bars of cream cheese. If you do that I would recommend an extra can of beans and corn. Even my 7 year old liked it lol
I've only used cream cheese for sweet applications, so using it for more savory ones is a foreign thought to me, haha. But I'll try making a meatless variant of this sometime
Most recipes you could use sour cream in you could probably get away with using cream cheese (possibly plus some milk) as a substitute.
I forgot to post this yesterday but I had sate kambing after I went down from the mountain. The name is goat satay (goat skewer?) But there is no skewer there ๐
I've never eaten goat, but I'm very curious about it! Regardless, it looks like it was -delicious-
Hmm eat satay after hiking sounds good
Went up to the mountains with car so not really hiking!
Vehicular hiking

omg, I miss sinegang, used to have a Philipino friend that loves to cook us this when I'm in the states.

Id never had it before marrying him but I'm glad I've got to try so many new yummy foods ๐
Some snacks for the gardener. Some tahu bakso, lemper, klepon and some colored sweet I have no idea the name is ๐
I like klepon ๐๐
yes klepon is good but it can't last for a day unless you put it in the fridge
Tahu bakso (the triangle ones) - tofu with meatball filling
lemper - rice with fillings wrapped by leaves. I don't know the leaves though. Banana leaves?
klepon - rice cake with palm sugar filling
Look like banana leaves to me!
Husband and I made chicken katsu curry.
Omg that looks so goooooddddd
Dang @abstract zenith , i think i know what i am having for lunch. Zomg that looks good lol
nooo I want that now
I called the colorful one โcenilโ but honestly I donโt really know the real. Ame ๐
Ooh what's that???
it's made of soft/silken tofu, sago, and brown sugar syrup!
it's usually sold by travelling vendors during the mornings but our place is like, one of his last stops so we get him near lunch time haha
it's one of my fave snack drinks ever
ooh kembang tahu? we call that as kembang tahu here ๐
I love it too! But here they use ginger water
ooh i wanna try that!
ours is more of like a dessert snack
i prefer it served hot but i know some people that like it cold
i might make piaya soon once i managed to get my hands on some muscovado sugar
piaya is an unleavened flatbread with a sweet filling, tho there are tons of different flavors now
but i prefer the original xD
ooooh. I've only had the ginger version, but would love to try the brown sugar. maybe a combination would taste good ๐
what is sago? if you donโt mind explaining
Wao
People talking about taho makes me want some ๐ ๐ ๐
what is sago? if you donโt mind explaining
@dapper grail hiiii, a close relation to sago would be boba pearls
Although boba pearls have a chewy consistency and a bit bigger than what is used in taho hehe
Taho pearls are usually easy to bite through and smaller in size :))
oh okay, where iโm from they call boba pearls, tapioca balls...but i have never seen this type of drink with tofu or ginger in it
Haha well, I've only seen the ones without ginger tho ๐
Wait lemme give you a clearer picture
It's actually a pretty simple snack hehe, and here you can see the ingredients clearly: the silken tofu, brown sugar syrup (or arnibal in Filipino), and the sago or pearls
oh i see, the only drink iโve ever seen that looks similar is this
iโm glad i found this channel gives me new things to try
Yeah I've only had them in milk tea so I'm having a hard time imagining it with tofu haha
That looks absolutely delicious! ๐
Oh, and fun fact: taho is usually sold by taho peddlers (or magtataho), and they shout, "Taho!" on the streets to signal that they're near. All you have to do is go outside and buy some either with your own mug, or with the plastic cups provided by the peddler.
Idk why, but I'm just so happy someone brought up the food ๐
This'll be my last media send on the topic cuz I really want you all to see it prepared haha. Hope you all get a chance to taste it in the future! โค๏ธ
Taho is Philippines street food that is made of Soy Pudding with Sago Pearls and Brown Sugar Syrup (Arnibal). There are variations with the use of syrup like Ube and Starwberry.

jealous! I wish i had some
hahaha
Sago (say โsah-gohโ) are small, round starchy balls extracted from the spongy center of tropical palm stems. When uncooked, they are pea-sized white balls. After boiling and simmering the sago in water, they turn into transparent balls with a gummy texture. Aside from its wide use for Philippine beverages and desserts, sago balls are a staple in New Guinea and the Moluccas and in Indian cuisine.
Sago should not be confused with tapioca, although they look similar. Tapioca comes from cassava, while sago is from palm trees. https://www.asianinamericamag.com/make-sago-gulaman/
Interesting ๐ I've never heard of it before, though I could probably find it at one of the local Asian groceries

@Sarcosmic#8496 wao new learning! Thank youu hehe. Didn't know this even though I've eaten them all my life. ๐๐๐
Everyone posting lots of interesting foods while Iโm just chilling with my western cuisines and having a basic salad for lunch ๐ฅ
Homemade breakfast sandwiches!
I ordered some surprise mochi from a company just to try and see if they are any good.
This matcha white chocolate one lasted only a few seconds :joy:
That's a very biggg mochi ๐ด
I see food here
.
Here some duck for my ramen soup
Thatโs not seafood? ๐ค
Nope
duck legggggs
Most best legs
If only ducks had more legs
We had lemon garlic chicken breast tonight, with sweet potato fries and green beans with bacon!
Yummy!
Sweet potatos are 1000% better
Yes!
this looks soooooo good!๐คค
Looks not so epic but it was full with duck and delicios soup
home made biscuits .. they were delicious
Looks good!
I love mochi. Eat every time on my fav japanese restaurant with yuzu and strawberrycheasecake flayor
@upbeat lion unfortunately the closest places for me is in London ๐ฉ so when i found this company and they do surprise sample ones
By far some of the best mochi i have had
That id sad :/
The big mochi looks rlly good
Same, thankfully I have an Asian market in West Michigan! They have imported ramen, mochi, Japanese KitKats, etc.
whats a mochi? Is it just a filled chocolate ball or how do you subscribe it? Really interested since it looks yummy
Very chewy rice flour dough
And matcha is green tea. So itโs a green tea white chocolate mochi
Its good but I would say an unusual thing to try and an acquired taste
Its made from pounded rice, water, sugar and cornstarch so its very chewy
Mochi makes my mouth really dry so I don't particularly like to snack on it, so I usually use it as a dessert.
mochi ice cream
Sounds very special. In which countries do you get them?
Its country of origin is Japan. You can make it yourself quite easily.
I get mochi ice cream here in the US.
Just need glutinous rice flour and you can make it yourself
Though I canโt stand red bean paste
thank you
you can freeze nutella and use that as a filling
tho i like eating them as is
if you want a quick and easy recipe, just get glutinous rice flour, sugar, and water (make sure sugar is dissolved first and sift the rice flour. You can also just mix everything and then strain the whole mixture) and chuck them in a microwave
5 minutes then stir, 2 minutes then stir, and 2 minutes again
drop the hot mochi on a tray with corn starch, let cool for a little bit, and then form
oh thank you for that! I'll have that in mind maybe for my next cheat day ๐
np! i usually do 1 1/2 cup glutinous rice flour, 1 1/2 cup water, 3/4 or 1 cup of white sugar (dunno if it will set properly if you use half cup)
Ice cream mochi is good. Doesnโt have to be a ball either. You could do brownies or something
you can do this on a steamer (steam for around 17-20 minutes) but i don't like taking out my steamer lmfao
๐
Mmm mochi is so good. I wish our local asian market didn't shut down. :( So hard to find glutinous rice flour now without paying a crazy fee on amazon.
I would be really sad if our local asian market got closed! I get how that would be really annoying!
I wish I had a local Asian market. I just have to make do with the Asian section at the local supermarket.
Yeah that's what we've been doing as well now.
The owner of ours had to move back home because of health problems with her father :disappointed:
Home baked bread ๐
yum!!
idk what that is but it looks yummy
Looks like a rice pudding or something close? Definitely looks yummy
since "arroz con leche" directly translates to "rice with milk" that probably IS rice pudding ๐
would love to have some of that as well
Oh XD
Sorry I didn't answer earlier! It's rice steamed on milk for hours, with condensed milk and cheese, it's a whole lot of dairy haha
You can eat it cold or warm, whatever you like. Also some people (like me) add raisins but that's optional
Not sure about the cheese but every thing else sounded good
The cheese works better when it's hot cause the cheese is grated so it actually melts
I didn't know arroz con leche has cheese in it :o
that looks amazing
Sounds like a keeper!
So sweet..
delicious.. i am hungry rn
When the lockdown first started Last year people here went crazy with baking. So much so that grocery stores here ran out of flour ๐คฃ
lol.. amazing.. in my country, coffee shop start to sell 1 liter coffee so that we can enjoy coffee at home with family..
@abstract zenith those muffins look delightful! Great job!! ๐๐คค
Thank you! I love baking. XD
It is great! I enjoy it, but I have more fails than successes. Especially now being plant-based, trying to find recipes and make them work is a challenge!
making mochi ๐
Letting it cool before i start shaping
You can eat them as is but i have some left over nutella so I'm gonna use that as a filling
Mochi is such a good treat haha
But it's such a pain to make tho
yeah haha
you can make a single person serving tho
i sometimes make a serving just for me and chuck it in the microwave
Can you lovely people please share your favorite mochi recipe?! ๐
i do 1 =1 1/2 =1 1/2
1 cup sugar, 1 1/2 cup water, 1 1/2 cup glutinous rice flour (mochiko isn't really available here in the ph)
but if you want your mochi to be a bit firmer, do 1 =1 = 1 1/2
i think you can halve the sugar but idk if it will set well or be able to keep it's softness and texture in the fridge
if you have a steamer, steam it for about 17-20 minutes, stirring it after 10 minutes. If you have a microwave, set it 5 minutes, stir, 2 minutes, stir, and then 2 minutes and stir
after steaming/microwaving, you can pound or mix it with a wooden spoon or a rice paddle for a few minutes to make it chewier. you can skip this part if you want to tho
(mochiko isn't really available here in the ph)
Same
Whatโs ph?
@chrome grail thank you!!!!!
I love mochi ice cream but plain sounds amazing ๐คฉ
Philippines
Also stands for โpotential of hydrogenโ ๐
Everyone talking about mochi so i felt like making something. Didnโt have a lot of ingredients on hand so made these.
In square size ๐
It tastes a bit like bread and butter pudding.
Mine too please ๐
Dunno if you could still call it mochi though. Mochi cake maybe? ๐
Do you do delivery ๐?

Meatloaf, sweet potato fries and green beans with bacon

I looooove bao!
we're actually in the process of making ramen for dinner ourselves!
Omg I love bao tooooooo
That Bao looks amazing even if I hate eating meat XD
That looks sooo good I miss bao so much ๐ญ
it. was. so. good.

I'm not a real chef, but a hobby chef so also.. can't stop won't stop, lol
Weeelll I run a discord server for bakers and cooks if you're interested. https://discord.gg/pmpCgguWYH
Is mostly troubleshooting and helping each other
Do you'll share recipes there?
Cause that would be interesting for me
We do!
ooh i could share some
We have a thread for recipe request, as well as a list of trusted recipe sources.
It's less about free sharing of baking recipes and more about finding recipes that are guaranteed to work. The internet is a minefield of bad recipes and bad advice
so we put together a team of professional bakers and pastry chefs that and answer questions, provide quality resources, and trouble shoot baking disasters.
Ooh, good. I'm a great baker if I have a good recipe, but I don't always know substitutions and stuff. My cooking recipes are, however, always awesome. ๐
That's what we're here for. We haven't quite moved into cooking yet, as we are trying to establish the baking side first
but eventually
The closest I've come to baking something good is trying to make bread during the lockdown
We all gotta start somewhere
i have a nice recipe for easy spice bread
All the recipes are usually vetted by the pros. So you're welcome to share, but please don't be upset if we ask questions or ask for verification.
Our main purpose is teaching and helping
I posted them earlier, but these are the muffins I made the other day.
raspberry and blueberry streussel muffins
Oh, also please note that the Bake Infinite server is role blocked. You'll need to read the rules and choose roles before you'll be allowed full access
Those look amazing. ๐
Oh that's looking delicious
I knew it was a mistake to look in this channel
My cooking isnโt very photogenic but it sure tastes great! This is Chicken Pozole ๐
I'd counter that with saying that your brain actually decides how good the food is gonna taste based on what you see, but it's hard to present something like a chicken pozole super well. ๐ But honestly, if you're cooking at home and you're the only one eating it, then yeah... your plating skills aren't super necessary.
Unless you're my husband, who just likes to show off. ๐
My husband likes to make everything look good, too, which I obviously appreciate
but if it doesn't look perfect... my stomach won't know either way and I smell how good it is long before I see anything, so it is not like I will decide to not eat it based on looks xD
absolutely
I should not have gone into this channel
this is the forbidden lands
it's the BEST lands
IT MAKES ME HUNGRY AT 4 AM
forgive the notes; I'm doing coloring for adoptables and need a list of things I have to include on this one. ๐

it's 6 am and i'm in a blanket burrito D:
im either thinking of making some sweet potatoes Latkes or macaroni
oh my god
My mac and cheese became super spicy after i dropped a bit too much pepper flakes ๐คง๐คง๐คง
spicy mac'n'cheese is so good tho!
kinda wish i added sirloin beef in it because its kinda bland with just veggies
Me and my fiancรฉ are going through a charcuterie board phase ๐คค and yes; we did 3 different kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches
Another morning another porridge ๐
congee and porridge are different? ๐ง
Is this true? wow
if that's the case yes that's congee. With lots of toppings
Yeah. I associate the word porridge with oatmeal, possibly topped with some fruit. Though you arenโt wrong ๐. Porridge is just boiled grains (rice).
my 26 years of life have been a lie... what i thought as porridge turned out to be congee
The internet is fun
Do you like mixed version or never mixed version of chicken porridge ? ๐
Everyone showing amazing breakfasts and foods and me here eating a piece of bread ๐คฃ
I had bread for breakfast too ๐
Wow yeah everyone's breakfasts look so good. Who's cooking for me? Lol
Want some a bread? ๐คฃ ๐
Ahahaha mmmmm
Who wants to bake these with me? ๐
Wow cool
me too, lol
i put ketchup next to my pogo (in the same bowl as my mac n cheese) and accidentally ate the macaroni with the ketchup and it was lowkey good
but i didnt know it was a thing lol
Is that uncooked pasta
Also ketchup on KD is good but just on pasta I haven't tried
idk i downloaded it off google, that aint my cookin thats for sure

Okay it is but for some reason I love it
I love real cheese don't get me wrong it's my favorite food. But craft cheese... nostalgia
Also yeah I eat mac n cheese w/ ketchup fight me
One of the things that drew me to this game (besides its diversity and environmentally conscious aspects) was the Indonesian theme. I received a very European-centric education and have been trying to learn about other cultures that were just "glossed over". ๐
Does anyone have any Indonesian recipes they recommend? I'd love to such myself up for the game by exploring some foods from the region
the box on the right is jello, tbh that combination looks mad nastyy
super american
As an american I do not approve
I put ketchup in my rice-a-roni, so I can't judge
I can recommend some for you, from the Central Java or Javanese food. Our food tend to be sweet though haha
Yes please! ๐
Maybe other Indonesians from other ethnicity can recommend the non-Javanese food. What kind of dish do you like? soup or other kind of dish?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bubur_ayam
Bubur ayam (Indonesian for "chicken congee") is a Chinese Indonesian chicken congee. It is rice congee with shredded chicken meat served with some condiments, such as chopped scallion, crispy fried shallot, celery, tongcay (preserved salted vegetables), fried soybean, Chinese crullers (youtiao, known as cakwe in Indonesia), and both salty and sw...
perhaps try to cooks some home cooking recipes, first? It usually more straight forward and simple. My fav recipe that can be done in less than 30 min is spinach soup. And chicken nugget/chicken katsu and bakwan jagung (corn fritters) as side dishes.
https://dailycookingquest.com/sup-bening-bayam-jagung-spinach-corn-soup.html
https://dailycookingquest.com/bakwan-jagung.html
optionally you could use pre-made fritter flour or tempura flour (see kakiage aka vegetable fritters recipe) for less hassle!
https://www.amazon.com/Sasa-Tepung-Bakwan-Spesial-Pack/dp/B082BHTQ9M
https://www.amazon.com/Hime-Tempura-Batter-10-Ounce-Boxes/dp/B000H27I5Q/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Tempura+Batter&qid=1612461833&sr=8-2
Learn how to cook this quick and healthy 15-minute Indonesian soup with fresh corn and spinach. Keep this gluten-free soup vegan-friendly with vegetable stock.
These look so good! And that's probably a great tip for getting started
yeah! It's always a good start to learn from simple dishes that use less spices. The more advanced indonesian recipes use a hella amount of spices (as a native, this also confused me alot!) XD
I might compile some other easy indonesian home cooking recipes in the future XD
bakwan jagung is litterally a 10 minute snack, you just put flour, water, salt, corn (any veggie, really) and just fry it to little disks.
yep! But the effort to wash the oily pan is.....a hussle for anak kos like me XD
that's why I optionally eat spinach soup with chicken nugget instead. As I could just bake and left them in my oven XD
Crispy Eggplant Margherita Pizza!
Yum!
Malรฉo omfg please you're making me hongryโข ๐
LELE!!!
Is that jasmine rice?
I dunno. it's just white rice
Haha the whole dish looks yummy!
Does jasmine rice smells like jasmine?
Uh I dunno, it smells good though
Jasmine rice does have a fragrance to it, but I can't say for sure that it smells like actual Jasmine. However, it's definitely not the same as just pure white rice/sushi rice. And also different from basmati rice
It's super delicious though, and less sticky than short grain white rice
I see.... the rice i use is quite sticky, that's why it's perfect if you want to eat it by hands
The rice in that dish looks like regular white rice
Yea maybe lol
What's the doughy looking stuff on the left?
That's fried brown tofu
Ooh!
๐
we just eat white rice here haha. Jasmine rice tend to be more expensive but it depends on the region I guess?
I know Thailand's jasmine rice is pretty pricey here
Yummy!
Thank you. Fried shrimp today
suddenly i crave that now lol.
It is very yummy. ๐

Mmmmmm!!! Gimmie!
you made it ?
Nah, haven't bought an oven for the new house yet. Ordered these from a small mom and pop store over instagram
Fried banana
Banana goreng
I feel conflicted, i hate bananas but I love fried food
Nina can relate
Finally someone i can relate to. We will romance each other thru our common banana hate ๐
I know one person irl that hates bananas but loves banana fritters ๐
Completely understandable. I wouldnโt bite into a whole tomato but I eat tons of stuff with tomato.
same, i donโt like eating oranges but iโll drink orange juice
I made egg fried rice
mmmmmm
I am leating the leftover pasta from yesterday
kind of bootleg chicken fajita. fresh tomato accidentally made everything brown.
That looks good
Depends how itโs made I guess
I hate cheese but Iโll eat it in burgers and such
hmm fair enough
I currently have 2kg of seafood marinara mix sitting in my freezer that I got around Xmas for 50% off
Iโm debating how I should cook this
Maybe a seafood spaghetti or a bake
do you have a crockpot?
Yeah and a pressure cooker too (I usually use the pressure cooker for faster cooking time than the crockpot lol)
crockpot could be delicous for slow cooked simmer seafood
I gotta have a steak in mine though
im making 4.5 kg of beef tenderloin in mine
Ah that sounds like a good idea
got one for christmas, i'm obsessed
I made Nandos peri peri chicken yesterday
yummmmmmm
Iโve had a pressure cooker for a few years now. It makes some good stuff
Took awhile to marinate
Thereโs like 2-3 bottles of marinade in there lol
My first attempt at ramen today too, itโs not how I imagined but then again I most likely did it wrong
Would you like a good ramen recipe?
Sure, thatโd be great
I'll send it to you after this round of overwatch, lol
No worries, Iโm gonna do my dailies in genshin impact lol
I love me some banana chips too
banana chips are god tier tbh
Oh man that looks awesome, did you make it or get it from somewhere?
Me too
we made it the other day. it was delicioussssss
I could've just... had mugs full of the broth itself
It was just a stock photo I found of an Aussie Works Burger. ๐
Pretty standard burger you could buy at a burger shop. With either steak or ground beef
Thanks for the recipe, I think getting the majority of those ingredients where I am though would prove difficult
Im at the whale watching capital of Australia so they really cater towards tourists and a lot of fish and chip takeaway shops and whatnot, itโs very touristy and alot of backpackers (though except for COVID the backpackers have dropped significantly)
... ๐ค Hervey Bay?
Bingo
I used to live in Melbourne somewhat 16-17 years ago
Glad I got out of there lol
Welp time for bed itโs 10.17pm
@night hearth I mean, if there's a butcher near you, getting pork bones isn't hard. Ours even gave them to us for free. You can also use a high quality pre-made chicken stock rather than making your own. Red and green onion shouldn't be too difficult to find? And if you have an asian supermarket anywhere near you, the beansprouts and chilis are very easy. I don't know your area, so I can't say you're wrong, but as with all cooking substitutions can always be found and made. ๐
farmers markets also sell this stuff if you have something like it near you.
and yes i wholeheartedly agree with the butchers - they will keep the bones for this reason.
Thanks for the recipe, definitely on the list of things to make at home
Absolutely! I posted a picture in this channel when we made it the other day. It's well worth it!
we actually did our broth overnight >.> and we used turkey stock I had made from scratch during Thanksgiving instead of an actual chicken. but it still came out just... so flavorful and amazing. and really spicy. XD
Yummmmmm
ooooh, yummy!
i love banana bread, that looks good
That looks amazing
Thanks for the recipe, it's definitely on my to make list.
omg mi goreng is god tier
oyea ima be making fettuccine alfredo today il take a pic of it later when i'm done
ate it last night lol
wow what is on that pizza! does the crust have sausage? iโve never seen that before .. looks good
can we get that pizza recipe?
I wanted to cook some nice pork in hoisin sauce today but the new veggie knife had other plans
OH NO
Is your thumb okay?? did you get stitches?
Instead have a burger i made this week
No stitches, just a bandage to uh bleed into and a tetanus shot just to be safe
Yeah, that's what happened to me when I sliced open my pinky finger. It still bulges out and the nerves aren't fully healed and that was 2 years ago.
I lost a wee bit of thumb but not enough to justify sewing it back on haha
my bathroom floor did look like a butcher's until I got home again
i hope you get better soon :/ cutting through a thumb is a long lasting thing (i needed 5 weeks to recover from cutting half of a thumb when i was a child)
I hope I can switch to a bandaid or smth tomorrow ;_; it sounds dumb but I wanna go back to cooking. I hate food waste and I still have like a perfectly chopped up pak choi and pork in the fridge now that I really don't wanna throw out
looks delicious!
it is! quick to make too haha. wish i had some parm tho but parm is so expensive here
is it oil based sauce?
yes, for the sauce i just pretty much just used olive oil, garlic, tossed some of the shrimp heads for flavor and semi-cook the shrimp before fishing them out, and then adding two tomatoes
and then i crush it haha
salt and pepper to taste
i was honestly just winging it bc i was hungry and didn't bother looking up a recipe ๐
German meat cakes, basically. :P
pls gib
Yeah, i like to cook it that way too, but minus the shrimp and tomato (so more plain than yours lol)
Some ramen I made the other day- homemade soy eggs, pickled bamboo, and char siu (and homemade broth too but)
Dang, making me hungry! That looks amazing
narutomaki
aka naruto ๐
had to google what that is.. a fish cake of sorts
are you telling me the anime is named for a fish cake xD
Yes. :P
(psst, Narutomaki is named after the Naruto whirlpools tho)
This channel is both a blessing and a curse ๐ฉ im so hungry now
So happy I just ate chicory mashpot. Else Iโd be hungey again now
Think I have a natural talent for cooking since this is the first time I made fettuccine alfredo
it looks really good!
creamy noodles are always amazing... cheesy and comforting
now I want fettuccine alfredo..
I added a whole container of parm and romano lol I added a bit of lemon too it as well and its really good I was gonna use cream cheese but we dont have that so rip xD
cauliflower cheese is my go-to comfort food
mine is lasagna haha does that count?
I had alfredo fettucine from my local pizza place and it was as bad as sin it was possibly the biggest dissapointment I have ever encountered
it's not so quickly made but I just-
oof disappointing food is such a sad thing
So I literally made it better then them lmfaoo and I actually used fettucine pasta
sounds like you have a bad pizza place xD
the pizzas not bad but their fettucine is lmfao
in fact they have the best pizza out of everyone else in my area lol
a friend of mine once told me she was making chicken adobo and I remembered my mom used to make it. So I was like "you know what I'll just make it, too"and so I did and it was amazing.
Then I visited that friend and had their chicken adobo and I didn't even finish my serving because ew..
it was so under-spiced and she used chicken breast and it was so dry
basically their fettucine was so bad and disgusting it made me want to just make it myself and voila I did
that's something at least xD
its funny, a ex took me too this fancy pizzeria place a long long time ago and it was honestly one of the worst pizzas i'd ever had. then some months later me and another friend went to this trailer pizza shack thing on the beach and it was absolutely stunning.
also her potatoes were undercooked because it didn't stew long enough aaa
i would choose the shack pizza over the restaurant pizza every time
ok end of adobo rant
that is often the case in my experience..
I never have lasagna at italian restaurants because usually it's an oily mess
yeh. little family places make the best stuff
XD
like who need complex flavors when it comes to pizza. If it is good to a kid it's good to an adult.
In Bali i had a proper pad thai, and nothing has ever come close to it back home
no idea what they do but i so wish i could go back XD
yeh food from your home hits different when you have it at home
have you uninstalled your adobo flash plugins yet
24 meat cakes later...
steals one
they look great!
@stone umbra adobo is one of those dishes where if you grow up with a certain way it's cooked, then it's difficult to like another family's recipe unless it's similar to yours xD
i am very picky when it comes to adobo, especially with chicken adobo
I guess so, but hers still wasn't good
Thought Iโd share this really easy recipe
mmmm
I get a lot of really great recipes from all recipes and they are usually very easy to make too
that looks healthy!
I think in indonesia in pizzahut , they always mix with sausage or cheese
Thereโs a Dominos pizza in Australia that actually tastes pretty good.
Sausage Sizzle.
Beef sausages and onion with BBQ base sauce topped with tomato sauce and mustard.
๐
Someone mentioned Kecap Manis to me today. I had no clue what they were talking about.
Me after they described it to me: โyou mean sweet soy sauce?โ
Completely shocked it was called Kecap Manis.
yess soy sauce is kecap, manis is sweet haha
Literally written on the bottle.... ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
what is this sudden discussion about kecap manis lol
Just me talking random stuff
Happy birthday!!

@jade forge happy birthday

Bouletten is right hahaha
And that's Feldsalat
And yeah, potato wedges and bacon-mustard sauce
I have a fine dijon at home I have not found a use for yet but I can practically bathe in anything with "honey-mustard" on the packaging
truly lmao
mustard in cream sauce is amazing honestly
The only thing I knowingly put mustard in are Rouladen
and it's like a WHISPER of mustard on the meat
oooh, what is that??
Earl grey lemon curd cake
oooh
yummmmm
saucy
I love lemon curd
EARL GREY AND LEMON?
Me too. Don't love making it tho
Sure, send me some money lol
Do you have a stand mixer?
I don't, i do have regular mizer though.
This recipe uses a reverse creaming method, I'm afraid you'll need a mixer with a paddle attachment..
I think you can still use a hand mixer, it'll just take you longer.
can you taste the earl grey in the cake?
It's not about time, is about how much gluten is formed when using whisks vs. using a paddle
Yeah. it's more about the sciencey stuff huh? lol
Yes. You can make any cake an early grey cake if the recipe calls for milk. Just strap some earl grey tea in the milk first.
I'm not trying to argue, just saying that Claire Saffitz was making a reverse creaming method cake and had said that a stand mixer is the best option, but it's doable with a hand mixer. ๐
For the one she was making maybe. But not this one.
I'm always curious on how tea flavored cakes taste like, especially combined with lemon, which i imagine compliments each other.
Earl grey and lemon are ๐ฅฐ
๐
OwO do you have a recipe you'd recommend?
For... What exactly?
earl grey and lemon cake!
Well all my recipes are my own
So, I don't really have any outside sources I can link to or anything.
that's alright. It's really cool that you figure out your own recipes!
Well, that's what pastry chef's do. :)
haha, now I just feel silly. I didn't see you mention that!
But like I said earlier, you can put earl grey in any cake recipe that calls for milk by steaping the tea in the milk first..
But earl grey and lemon are pretty classic flavors, I'm sure if you Google it you'll find something.
Cool!
I'm gonna stack the rest of the cake today or tomorrow, I'll post pictures when I do. :)
Do those just put ground tea leaves in the cake?
I have no idea as I didn't read through the entire recipe.
