it really depends; character actors can blend into it easily. If you're aiming from scream queen/king roles, I'd say take at least 10 vocal lessons with a trusted vocal coach. Even then, you have to keep taking lessons.

I'd have blood running from my hair down to my legs but I'd purposefully stand in foggy or dark areas with my back to the incoming crowd

The best scares I've ever done was when I was placed inside this hallway.

The walls are black

there's a laser light shooting out circular light strobes on top of the exit you're supposed to walk towards. The lights are aimed at the door you come in from.

on the ground is fog machines that continuously pump in fog. It gets so foggy in there that people can't see where they're going. They hug the walls, literally. but as the actor, I can see fine because I was in there since the beginning.

I'd wear a simple tight black dress with booties on my shoes to mask my foot steps.

There's these little obvious cubbie holes on one of the walls. People always expect me to be in there but I'm never in there unless I'm moving after scaring them.

I would instead, stand right underneath the angle where the light strobe becomes ineffective.

and watch them fumble along the walls

when they get closer to me, I pull my lips wide into a wide eyed smile and just wait until they see me.

the strobe lights are so powerful that they literally dont' see me until tehy bump into me

Stripper poles in the center and pigs on hooks from the other side. Kids in daisy dukes and a tied off t shirt and pretending to be sexually intimidating scary... I watched a whole group of women come in and whip out their purses to start throwing singles at the boy

She was whimpering and then she gets super close but because she was looking up, she couldn't see me. And I knew what was coming next so I steeled myself, locked my smile in, and didn't even flinch when her made contact with my face. She froze. Looked down. and went 'AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHhH! OH MY GOD!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOOOOO! hEEEEEEEEELPPPPPPPP!'

And ran out of the room.

I can still hear her screaming as she runs backwards to look for her friends

I once went through a haunted house in my Halloween costume (which was a cracked porcelain ball joint doll covered in blood with a cleaver the size of my leg also dripping blood) and a woman came into the room I was in screaming from a previous scare saw me and started screaming and back pedaling when I was like "I don't work here I won't spook you" and she grabbed hold of me and ordered me to help her so I escorted her through the rest with her hiding her face in the ruffle lace of my skirt lol. She decided I was scary enough to scare off the other scarers

Yup! You need to make tubes and blobs that could be intestinal or organs and have them swimming in syrup and potentially either inedible but wont dry out so they're a good set piece or edible so your actor can chew on it but it will become a sticky sugar mess

That's your brain telling your muscle that it moved too quickly while in the process of healing. Telling it that it needs to pull back for fear of snapping. However mechanically you are in a lengthened position your brain is telling your one leg muscle to be in bent position when it is in a straight position but it's not got the ability to bend on it's own it take a few muscles to do that so it try's to pull back but cant because its tethered tight and it shimmies back and forth
