If their diet is poor it can affect coloration. But also not all flamingoes are pink, that’s dependent on major food source.

Where are you diving? Try silver kelp areas and remove all the trash. Go back once a week so trash has time to respawn. When not diving, hoe the area in town around the lake for fossil nodes. If you don’t have all gems yet, keep mining. Or fish/catch if still missing lots of those. You’ll eventually get the 275 for osmium reward

This is probably the biggest "optics" issue I have seen from the team, tbh. About half the posts on the KS page are also (rightfully) concerned about this. I would definitely consider being very clear what is actually going on here because "chicken competition" with a fighter game type of screen layout has some very large negative connotations. I hope it is just a staring competition and the dev update was very poorly written, but it is currently "red flag the size of Texas' ego." @scarlet forge

That’s why people are freaking out, it’s not something they’d expect but it looks like most fight screens in a lot of games looks like. Idk why that’s difficult to understand, people are worried something that’s otherwise pretty wholesome added something completely undesirable and the wording doesn’t help with the perception. Everyone wants it to not be what it looks like at first glance, but they also don’t want to assume it’s something else and be beyond disappointed if they’re wrong, hence asking for clarification.

In all honesty? No, I don't think they would. That's exactly why it's shocking. On the other hand, a lot of people who don't play the game and aren't on discord right now aren't going to know that, either, and that dev blog goes out to everyone, not just people on discord. If we can get the wrong impression, other people definitely can, because all we have to go by is that gif and some people have pointed out it didn't play for them at first.

they show the new festival where you can have your cows compete and your chickens compete, these are in gifs. for some people, the gifs didn't load very well, and the chicken contest takes place in an arena that resembles a fighting arena.

if the gif plays as it should, it's quickly obvious that it's a staring contest. but for a lot of people, it didn't. since chickens in fighting arenas can be interpreted as using animals for, well, blood sports as it were - it came as a bit of a shock

especially because coral island has always been more environmentally aware. i wouldn't call it controversial, just that the initial impression can be upsetting and the lack of description didn't make it immediately clear that it was a staring contest and not fighting

I can pretty much confirm now that Town Rank A is ACHIEVEABLE legitimately on the current version without the legacy offerings (Sea Critters) which you cannot complete now. I am currently on full collection of insects, fishes, and fossils. Besides, I am missing one for the artifacts (Cassettes Player), one for the gems (Purple Crystal), and two for sea critters (2 of them is not currently available). As of offerings, I currently completed 19 of them, all of which should be able to be completed on this version. With all of these (as well as all solar orbs from diving), I am sitting on 4/100 of Town Rank A.

I feel like also to a certain level he’s willfully ignorant to it, because it would’ve taken him nothing to just listen to what Rafael was saying after Pablo made the comment. I feel like he was very dismissive of Raphael, and I don’t like that at all,

Not me swooping in to defend my boy lol But as much as I do feel bad for Rafael, and I do, I genuinely believe Pablo had 0 intentions of hurting his brother or even realized that he had. It's hard to get across in cutscene, but its implied that Scott cut Rafael off when he was making that "can't say anything" comment and Pablo just got carried away in the moment. Pablo is certainly a people pleaser and easily got whisked away from Raf in the chaos of it all. And Raf, being the shy bean that he is, just didn't have the nerve to cut back in like "Hey I was talking here".

I think, at the end of the day, it was just their extremes in personalities clashing, like it seems to do often. Pablo is the town charmer, outgoing and extroverted to the extreme. He has a lot of friends and is in some ways a town celebrity. So much so that he finds it difficult to say "no" to people and tends to fall into a certain kind of peer pressure to "perform for them", if that makes sense. Simultaneously, Rafael can't help but fade into the background, feeling as though his brother just doesn't want to spend time with him when in reality he wants him so badly to join in on the fun. The two extreme personalities tend to clash and hurt and confuse each other without meaning to.

Yeah, I agree, you are 10000% correct here. I think Pablo really thinks that there is no way that Raf can actually be happy being alone all the time because he knows HE would be miserable. But I still think it comes from a place of wanting his brother to be happy and involved and feel like he's "part of the gang" and I just can't look at that protective, doting nature and be mad at it, even though it is a misguided attempt. But hey, not everyone has to like Pablo just because I do. And I can definitely understand the perspective that he's not really looking at it from Raf's point of view and being mad at him for it. I think that'll likely be where one, or perhaps both, of their story arcs will go. Yeah, I'm hoping the later heart events coming up will allow us to see what the core reason behind each of their behavior is and allow us to aid in helping them sort through it. With Pablo, I don't think listening is his issue, but instead his inability to set boundaries for himself. He's afraid of telling people "no" or going against what their image of him is. Both his parents and the townsfolk put a lot of pressure on him to behave a certain way, and he's afraid to disappoint by telling them "no". And of course our Raf just lacks a good chunk of confidence and thinks that people just don't like him, the poor bean. But I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens~ ;3

Certain crops, when grown in a 3x3 area, have a chance to merge into mega plants. Once mega, you need to break the plants in order to harvest though, which means replanting. However, some people have been using mega fruit (like pumpkins) as a decoration, since they don't die at the end of a season.

oh you need to leave the crops unharvested at least 1 day. the more days you left them unharvested, the more giant crops you probably have. I prefer to leave them after 20 days of each season because harvesting giant crops means you destroy the plants

Part of the problem is that it wouldn't be so exhaustingly annoying if the gems were in the mystery geodes like they were supposed to be - the impression I get overall is that open gem nodes dropped severely, but you can get more geodes and more varieties of gems in the geodes

All of which are now theoretically achievable in the game by "typical" methods - but aren't. Like anything above base quality fish being rare, the extremely limited and specific conditions for red king arowana, and whatever the heck is going on with the geodes

Ratih's stock resets every Sunday --> Monday rollover, so some people keep that Sunday save as a backup and constantly replace it in order to try to generate stock they want

A simpler version would be just reloading the save every morning if you're trying to get a specific gift, like apple pie - the game only saves when you go to sleep, so people just reload the game until they get the gift they want

the Ratih version is tedious enough for lazy me to not be bothered, so I just rely on the old-fashioned way, but I've reloaded for apple pie before

I'm not a huge fan of the interior options so far (also a bit frustrating that even within the same set, furniture tiles don't always line up). There isn't a preview yet, but this is most of the Baroque set. Hoping that when 1.0 is released I can retrieve all the missing wallpapers 😅

That is very fair. I find the furniture less offensive than most of the clothing options in the game. Most shirts make my character instantly look like a linebacker by adding 25kg of bulk out of nowhere. But hopefully they add more furniture, as I know more clothing is on the way.

I think on aggregate I’d prefer more sliders or options for character customisation for height, etc. I’ve seen other folks ask for a bigger bum, too. Can’t relate, but do you! 😂

1. chicken suit
2. panda suit
3. all the different colours of duck shirt
4. batik wrap
5. angry chicken in a basket

1 & 5 go well together

In my experience, not. In others’ experience, quite. I went through 12-13 brown cows before I finally got a black and white patch one. Your mileage is likely to vary.
