So this is the 5th meteor strike on my farm (I'm now in year 3, fall 16). 3 had landed in crops, but this one decided to take out part of my fence around the animal area - bottom of the screen. Could have been worse - they haven't landed on any chests or tools yet. I wonder if it can take out a building. That would be bloody awful.

It is at the Furniture Store - Outdoor. It is called the Stone Hedge Fence. Put 3 side-by-side and it creates a hedge fence in the middle. Keeping adding the circular hedge fences at either end to extend it. 40g each.

Wild seeds in winter will give you tea leaves. Snowdrop flowers are available in spring if you don’t have them by winter. You need C rank to get winter seeds.

I grind (to collect trash, making as many scraps as I can) for a while to make sprinkles but clearly I wouldn't want the plantation that big if it can't be automatically watered lol.

Nice, this is one area I am still struggling with, even with the tips. It's rare for the insect to become highlighted. Might be a bug on my end.

Which one? I recommend my strategy which has been full proof. Slowly approach any area where your bug may spawn, and if you see it, STAY AWAY, watch it's pattern, then line up so that you approach it head on, face to face, and since the bug and you move towards each other, you can catch it during the "alert circle", highlighted or not, you'll be more than close enough to catch it.

Also, after upgrading your island, finishing goddess offerings, etc. You need to buy the 12,000 coral bucks net. It's the 3rd tier net with the longest catch distance. If you don't have that, then it'll be near impossible to catch the rarest bugs.

Oi, several, one I remember the most was the 'dash approach', but it's hard to do that for me personally. When you say 'head on', which direction? I need to be able to see it so I never approach heading north.

Have you practiced on the more common bugs which approach suits you? The upgrades to the net are a must for rarer ones, which you can get as skills progress in foraging. I don’t recall it being tied to any offerings.

Well, I see the common ones and I still don't always catch them.

Most of the time it's when they actually move when the green highlight comes up.

If they’re in the net area you should be able to catch them even if they don’t light up. Spend a couple days just going after them and trying different techniques, the bug jerky you can make and sell would make it worthwhile anyway

I haven't gotten the bug jerky recipe yet. I am definitely taking my time since the full game isn't out yet. And I go after every bug I see too. Oh I did get the 1st net upgrade. It didn't make a huge difference.

Once you get the 3rd tier net, it'll change the game entirely. It makes rare bugs possible to catch, and every other bug super easy.

the dash attack does NOT work well on rare bugs, it does work on common bugs.

My example of approaching "head on", means if the bug is walking left, then right, then left, get on the opposite side of the bug to walk directly at it, while it approaches you, with your net drawn. It'll be a slow walk to the bug, but that's the best way to catch them. If you try and follow a bug with the net, their alert circle will go off and they will flee.

Okay well I'll be patient then since I am still in my first year (almost done with it). Like I said I am taking my time. I am loving the game, it's just the bug catching part is the biggest criticism I have of it so far, but I do understand the game is in Early Access and so the game devs might still be working on that aspect.

I only use the dash technique, since the bug catching is similar to a couple other games I’ve played and tried it out. Having the full collection is nice, but have fun trying things out. There’s no recipe for bug jerky, you just need 1 bug and a grill. Most dishes don’t have recipes right now, which might change, developer diary suggests that at least. Have you done any manual cooking?

Yes, all four altars can be unlocked. You have to provide offering items to do so, but you don’t have to complete them, so all 4 are open at the same time. Fourth altar has higher quality crops, legendary scavengables and gold/osmium mats, some gems etc. The wiki will likely be updated after full release, since it can change between beta and full release.

**Koi **- Spring and summer, only in the morning. I usually fish for it at the lake. You have to keep fishing and fishing and fishing till you want to puke until you eventually get a silver star. Frogfish The orange one with the horn. Rainy days only, all seasons. The Lookout (south of the farm where the lighthouse is - that area) and the estuary (sacred tree area between the farm and the Lookout. Rove beetle Fall and winter only, mainly evening and night worked best for me. I've only ever caught mine in the lane and garden area along the river just to the right of the farm though some say they got it in the vineyard, at the Lookout, and on the beach. I could only catch it after I got the Quality Net. Sardine Summer and fall only, in the evening and night. At the Lookout or the beach - another one that you have to fish and fish till you puke and eventually you get a silver one.

my peak was 1.7-1.6 million and I already fully decorated my farm and house xixixi. I'm left with 900k because I just bought nasty amount of seeds on summer 1st (like 200-800 each).

once I got a kitchen I sold bug jerky to make money for seeds, and I worked my a** off to make sprinkle I.
then on the spring of 2nd year I plant as many strawberries as I could, I've gathered around 500k on early 2nd year and 1.5m on the late 2nd year (and fully decorated farm too).
I make around 35k/day recent days.

bug jerky is 25 c now (235 before) so it's not worth it now. just start slowly and find the most worthy crops each season.

summer:

• melon (for mason jar)

fall:
