I'd say odyssey is more similar, but from what I've noticed they somewhat deviated from the original way of AC especially in odyssey, considering the superpowers and flow of play. However, I think they brought back the flow of play just enough for the game to not completely lose identity nor just keeping the same game over and over again

I go for the side quests and explore most of the map before even bothering with the story quests, playing the game at my own pace
Or just play rl, 5 minutes per game (6 if you count finding a match and joining one/loading in) could go to overtime but that doesn't normally last long

I didn't know about it at all. I just so happened to have a friend who streamed the game and piqued my interest, and said that you can basically play it cross platform on mobile and pc, and it's an open world game
