random thing, some testing has been done and its been found that the lack of hair shadows with path tracing also applies to base rt
to fix it u have to turn off local shadows, so theyve somehow managed to add something that makes pt and rt forget hair is a mesh when its enabled, cant wait for otis to try fix this tho so i can take cool shots

Oddly I always turn off all the local/rasterization shadows when I turn on Ray Tracing. Gives an FPS boost and I don't see any difference.

Haven't seen anyone talk about it online though. So could be a placebo

Also AMD released their driver level Fluid Motion Frames which works on any game. But it has official Starfield support until they or mods implement FSR3.

Not bad sometimes I drop to 60fps in cities, this makes me hit above 144fps in those areas now with little to no noticeable latency or artificing.

Screenshots don't capture the overlay for some reason when it's enabled. But that's for the second image.

Overall like 6ms increase

Going from 7.63ms to 13ms.

I can only notice it when it hits higher than 20ms. But luckily there's enough frames for it to be lower than that majority of the time 💜

I managed to reduce it I think, I just upscaled even more with Photoshop, little bit of denoise almost to just soften the grid. Add grain to bring back the texture/detail. Then downscale to further remove the grid.

Soop is right, the 4090 is not a waste of money if you can afford it, it has it's purpose for those who will use the features and performance in Raytracing Titles.

As a 7900 XT user the 7900 XTX is a really good buy compared to the 4090, but that doesn't make the 4090 a wasteful purchase. It does not compete equally in all areas and that's what's important.

However that doesn't matter if you are happy with 120fps at your resolution, as am I at 1440p 165Hz with my RX 7900 XT.

Workstation users generally not saying all. We don't really care if the card is twice as much. As long as we're saving time. In the industry I am in. 10 mins saved is still 10 mins saved and over time you get a fast ROI (return of investment)

7900 XTX is still a lot of people's choice even for workstations. But if you ask most people what would they rather do spend 600-1000 (depending on model) more and get 40% + gain to your timeframe / performance then that's where people would pick the card that wins in performance.

It's a consumer market at the end of the day we have choice and no one has any right to tell you not to buy something.

Also this is a good example of how PC enthusiasts can play nice together. I'm PRO Nvidia and AMD, but am currently on AMD and am really enjoying it again.

I'm not going to be hateful if Nvidia come out with a new feature and generally I'm happy to wait for things to improve on the AMD side.

The way I see it, Nvidia are always the first to introduce new, exciting and really important tech. AMD are excellent at following suit, although sometimes a few years behind. But at least it gives the rest of the gamers who can now afford it to experience the same tech.
