Hello, I've been working on a voice changer to see if I can make it sound as if I'm a radio show host or an actor in an old movie from the 40s - 70s, I came up with a random line to say, something you might hear in such movies, I'm a professional voice actor but I wanted to see if there was anything else in this test recording people could point out or let me know what else could be added to make it sound more genuine unless all of you agree it sounds great the way it is, this does require some voice acting to make it sound like it's a genuine old recording, I had the sound of the crackling recording added via soundboard that would give it that uniqueness to it, take a listen and let me know what you all think!

It was not easy to do, it took lots of tweaking to get it just right but in a way, I feel it's missing something.

Maybe someone here could tell me what it's missing.

Most are studio recordings but listening on a good AM radio sound much the same. AM was actually pretty darn good.

These were done in studios with flat walls that added to the slight bounce of sound, that you hear. The actors would take turns moving around a single microphone, so you also hear the actors clothing brushing up against each other. These were recorded on vinyl so you hear the dust on the vinyl.

No, but I did learn to mimic the keys pressed in a song. I learned to play, 'Sound of Silence' just by listening to it over and over.

Sweet! that's what some if not most people with perfect pitch also do, I have to listen to a song or a voice at least once or a few times in order to get a hint on how to accurately execute it or at least sound very similar.

But everyone has their limits.

I had to start and stop the recording maybe a thousand times and it took me a month to get it finished.

It sounds like it takes a lot of determination and focus to get good at something like that.

For me, it takes me just a few listens and I got it down, honestly, it's all about memorizing the sound in your head, knowing what comes after the other.

Like a step by step chain.

My mother was an opera singer and was kinda popular, she was also a vocal coach, I get my capabilities from her.

Added some bass and balanced the double Pitch since after rewatching the voice line video, it's not too complicated of a voice since a good chunk is just the guy himself with a somewhat subtle texture. Sry for the late response. Yes I just add some slight rasp to my regular voice while using the filter. If your regular voice is higher pitch than the common voice, than I'd just suggest using power pitch. Another factor could be the mics, cause I use a high quality USB mic called the Samson C01U Pro. What mic do you use?

That's always an issue. You buy the one you can afford. Then save some more and buy the next better. You look at an $80 microphone but you see that the $95 microphone is much better. I have not sent out how to make it or anything yet, I still feel like it needs to be worked on in a way, I found out that increasing the input volume of your mic to max, being 100, it adds those affects needed to make it sound old and genuine to the microphone.

But at the cost of it being very sensitive.

And picking up background audios.

Or noise.

You of course, could implement the old vinyl recording sound effect used in the recording there.

But I was told it could be better by using AM/FM Radio Static which I haven't been able to find good static to place in the background.

Asking both about the general reverberation as if it was speaking via some tube, and (which I assume will be harder) that really fun background effect - the separate sound that is rising in pitch more and more the longer they speak.

I would recommend playing with the power pitch:
50 is your actual pitch number>50= Hight pitch
number<50 = low pitch

I would go with something round 65

65-70

Also if you want to add the elfish effect
Maybe a bit of reverb or chorus, just a bit to add the small effect

For the same character

if you act +reverb you can pretend that you are in a cave

So I was told I'd have better luck asking in here. So, I am having some trouble with making a female voice. I have it sounding natural when changing my voice in particular. Settings are

PowerPitch: Mix 100, Pitch 64, Volume 100

But, although the voice it's self sounds natural, it has a mechanical grind to it that's unpleasant. I am wondering if there is any way to smooth it out.
