Hey guys.....I need some help. I'm a chick with a deeper voice but I'm going to be streaming with a male and female character, kind of like vocaloids if anyone knows what that is. I've seen a lot of presets for female voices which I still have to tweak for my higher than male voice. However, when it comes to male voices I've seen nothing....ahaha. I'm wondering if someone can help- me out in figuring out settings for an acceptable male voice. I don't mind it being a little electronic since my characters aren't exactly realistic to begin with. If anyone can help out that would be pretty dope. Thanks to anyone that read this and gives me their time. XD

Personal Female settings (based on the original Female) I've cooked up and my roommates approved how I sound with this:

Well, that might be the best you're gonna get. Voicemod is a program designed to modify your voice with some cool effects (with which you can get some pretty cool things). But it's not designed to give you a new or someone else's voice.

I found a decently convincing glados effect... it's by using blocks... it's weird and i wish i could improve it... but I've messed around with custom voices and there's not too much you can do because there's no drastic automatic pitch shift available :/
but using blocks with 5 reverb and 100 pitch usually works if you just keep a robotic tone
and if you try to emulate her voice yourself (pitching your own voice up) and softly speaking it kind of works

Now that I'm listening to it, I can tell you that most of it's not possible ๐
If you listen closely you can hear that there's some reverse reverb. What I mean by that is you can hear some sort of echo before the line is even spoken. That's like predicting what you're gonna say.
It's possible in those clips because the effect was added after the fact

Kronk is mostly just VA work. If you really can't lower your voice to Patrick Warburton levels, than just using the Pitch to lower than 50 and that should be enough. The rest is just pronunciation.

I've tried playing around with the Pitch effect, but, with my voice, any high voice I try is doubled over by my low voice. I've tried playing with settings to cancel my voice and leave only the high voice, but no luck so far, Any tips?

Unfortunately making a realistic female voice when you're a man is very difficult. You basically have to tailor it to your voice specifically.
One thing that helped me make mine was adding a little bit of reverb. For some reason, that really helped with mine (Even though I can only sound like Bea Arthur Lol)

@haughty prism everything that is related to game characters is a lot of voice acting if you just look at certain ppl and how they change their voices for different voices shows that a voice changer is more like 30% of the voice

@hoary venture I think my main issue is just that, it doesn't seem to have the same sound alterations to the voice, even when I alter emphasis and intensity. Are you suggesting that you're able to get it to sound 1:1 with that example in the Facebook video?

When it comes to making voices, I prefer Texture based filters over Pitch based since it's more fun to make a voice that a normal voice can't do texture wise. Most pitch based filters can be easily done most of the time on your own.

For me the best one is the T-Pain / Lilmod without background music, regarding Voicelab I recomend you to play with the humanize pitch Depending of the song also if you want to try things play around the vocoders and the echo to add tricky parts on the songs ๐

@primal apex It sounds a little too deep. Sounds like Terminator armour, not your average space marine. I tried increasing pitch or disabling pitch altogether and messing with the other settings like the High pass and equalizer but it doesn't sound like a space marine at that point

I messed around with some settings and I think I found a nice Space marine voice. It doesn't sound like terminator armour so that's a plus, sounds more like blood angels if you have the right disposition towards screaming your lungs out

@radiant helm there is no way to improve the quality, this is something the devs have to fix/work on.
because several people complain about the robot-like quality and they have good audio setups, it's just the software.

Kai Chisaki (Overhaul) from MHA. Now I don't religiously watch this series, so I don't know all the characters or the story but his voice effect sounds pretty nice, so I made a preset for that. It's subtle when you're talking normally, but grows more obvious in its monsterous effect when you're yelling. Also, I had my direction particularly from the English Dub series, so it's not like the voice effect from the original. This is just the voice effect alone, you'll need the voice acting to back it up. V
