i have an technical question, my mic is really old and is from tesco, so its buzzing, but if i take down the sensitivity then people cant hear me, is there a way to reduce/eliminate it with, say, high or low passes or the equalizer?

@dense basalt There's a setting down here, but bear in mind this will also lower your quality.
This is the only way in Voicemod Directly to get rid of it. There are other Softwares and Stuff out there for Noise reduction and stuff tho.

@lucid folio I would say that pure voice acting would be the only viable way to do a Goblin Voice. Optional Tweaks to your voice would prob be a room effect for ambience, some very subtle vibratos and maybe some pitch changes.
One tip for doing a voice like this however is to drink honey and ginger mixed with hot water through that whole campaign. Like the actor for Smeagol/Gollum. That's what i do when i've done similar voices.

@pulsar nebula If your at all interested in testing it out, I can share my screen and then mess with the custom options since it looks like sharing configurations isn't an open. It's hard to listen to my own voice and talk at the same time, so maybe we can collaborate and figure something out?

Hello, I am new to Voicemod and I am a DM for Dungeon & Dragons on Roll20 and use Discord. I want to create and have as many pre-sets of NPC/Monster voices as I can, so I can quickly change between NPC/Monsters on the fly. I want to do this to enhance the playing experience for everyone.
Where could I look for pre-created voices such as for a Dwarf or Gnome?

For Dwarves, you may be able to use a lower-pitch preset like Santa, Ruby, or even Custom Pitch to an extent. But it's more of a 70-30, where 70% of the voice is acting and accents and the other 30 is the actual low pitch.
Same with Gnomes, though you may want to run with a higher pitched one, like again, Custom Pitch.

Honestly, it's 90% voice acting if you really wanna pull a voice like that. You can use voicemod to help pitch it a bit but mostly you need to learn how to talk like that.
If you're male like me, we even speak in a different way than females. So nail that first, then mess a bit with voicemod.

To make the scary tone of the Pennywise voice, select the Highpass effect and just set the Mix parameter to 100% and the Frequency parameter to 60%.

I've been struggling with making modifications sound human, especially the double-pitch. I assume I should probably utilize the equalizer for this, but it never really seems to have much effect. Was hoping to pitch up my voice for a dnd character over discord, but it always tries to retain that bass growl behind my normal voice and it sounds like the Terminator came back as one of Alvin's Chipmunks.

Sounds more like a robotic but still human voice like I think u want... for the American version of Jarvis u have only to use the High Pass Filter... in fact jarvis sounds like a small/military radio transmission

@onyx ledge is right, most sonic voices I hear is purely voice acting/impersonation. Voicemod gives you the ability to add effects (more often supernatural than realistic) and does not give you the ability to perfectly equalize and mimic any regular, human like voice. It's special effects nothing more.
For example, you can't simply speak into the mic and expect voice mod to give you an accent, or replicate the talent of a professional singer. It just adds effects on top of what you are already doing. Most of the work still has to come from you.

I actually got a Claptrap voice- It's pretty basic, but it sounds pretty good if you have the energy to act like 'em.
I have pitch on to help me with the voice- Just move it depending on how low/high your voice is.

@hearty quest Tried messing with it and the main issues I'm having is (A) my voice is too low and even with a pitchup it's too edited to sound like the original. and (B) There is a slight pitch bend in the voice over that keeps randomizing once or twice per line. Unless Voicemod introduces the ability to add such a feature that would allow us to make pitches/effects change or fade over "x seconds" then the Portal Sentry would be VERY hard to make live.

@gloomy pawn Decided to take a whack at it. Not 100% perfect but a good basis. You will have to adjust the pitch and some other stuff to your particular voice

That's a mixture from the Vocoder and the Flanger, each one plays a part so increase them/decrease them as much as you want to get it where you like it. Also the more "robotic" your voice acting is will help sell it. I just read a line off of a cut scene to try the effect

That's gonna be more of voice acting. You can try just to do a pitch increase if your voice is too low but it won't sound normal.

@digital ledge Voicemod isnt the best for a girl voice. That shit requires atleast a month of practice to perfect but you can get the basics down in a couple of days. Just do the classic "do re me fa so" and when your voice cracks go one lower and juts whisper and read outloud. At first be breathy with it try talking with the back of your mouth. You can find more info about this on Reddit/YT, Im bad at explaining things.

well some of the mods for a feminine voice have a robotic like static in the background when you speak but if you were to pull off a little bit of voice acting and then try the mod but mess with the pitch then it won't sound to bad

for it to be able to fit your voice you would need to edit the voice yourself as you would have to change a little bit then test until it fits your voice correctly if your voice is young try and change the pitch to be a bit deeper then it is
