hey everyone, new user here. Apologies if this is a really stupid question, but is there any resources available that go into detail on what all the effects do, how they sound (descriptively) and what what each end of the levels for said effects would do to the that effect in isolation?
I'd love to start creating voices but I'm realizing it was way more than I expected at first 🫠
Also if anyone is able to share if it's possible to take a voice from the explore section and toss it into voice lab to mod (like removing the background music) I'd really appreciate it!

The only modifications possible on pre-made voices is via the settings on the sidebar, background music can be disabled, it should next to the Voice Changer slider. Right now I don’t know of any guides for Voicelab, so I suggest experimenting with each and every option, one at a time to see how it sounds.

Yes, you can try doing that, do not expect it to be perfect as likely you'll need to use AI, which is still developing technology, and will use significantly more system resources to work properly.

Short answer: Not directly on the Quest 3
Long answer: You can use voicemod on PCVR using a Quest 3 but needs a PC. Alternatively if you have our VMKey device, you can get a Female 3.5mm audio jack to USB Type C Male adapter and control voicemod using the Voicemod Soundboard mobile app.

I also run it through steelseries sonar, which has its own suppression, since I use an audio technica mic with Aux, and a super cheap power supply for it (said cheap psu is probably why is makes noise)

Ohhh yes, turn it down to about 20% it works perfectly without much extra and with it too high it will cut out your screaming or often just your voice when your first start speaking.

Anywhere between -60db & -50db is good for the noise gate, then you can turn it off completely in voicemod also to not interfere

Aye, for some reason windows think it should go to the gaming preset over the media preset, as if a computer doesn’t usually use media mostly for people XD it’s quite jarring to start a yt vid and suddenly they sound a mile away due to the cyberpunk 2077 surround sound preset 😂

ohhh yeah i can imagine, i have my media one set to 50% and that's been pretty good for me, all videos and streams sound fine it's just the occasionally jumpscare by sudden loud websites or music going to 100% but i do have sensitive ears

There are plenty of other free tts software already out there, a good one which uses Alexa's model called TTSVoiceWizard.
I use that sometimes and you can direct the output into voicemod with a virtual cable mic, so you can process the TTS with voice effects, pretty creative and fun.
We shut down TTS because it wasn't used enough and cost too much to host it all.
