can someone explain to me why the output is so much better quality through the "hear myself" voicemod app than the actual (literally any) other output?

If you test through discord for example, the quality is greatly reduced as they convert to mono and compress the output.

So monitoring through the Voicemod app will always show the correct quality. If you recorded your voice using audacity for example that will also be the correct quality. Most other programs have poor quality.

Make sure you have the channel set to stereo and you have the sample rate correct as shown!
