Ah I have an update!

we’ve made a conscious decision not to offer legacy versions of AI voices in future.

Revamps of AI voices are going to be a regular occurrence. Some voices have already gone from our technology VC1 -> VC3.1 -> VC3.4 and they’ll soon go to VC4.

As we have more and more revamps of AI voices its not practical to offer users a growing collection of legacy versions. It complicates the UI, plus from a technical perspective it would mean maintaining a bunch of legacy tech in uSDK, which requires engineering work and eats up disk space.

So it is unfortunately but we're not able to keep offering the older outdated and worse quality voices, due to the nature of our ever improving service. I know this isn't what you'd want to hear.

the legacy voices had a lot more emotion when you spoke with them

but the new ones

i cant really do much with them

and there was this funny thing the legacy voice would do

if i breathed into the mic it made this sound

and it was so damn funny to my friends

it would be alright if the alice voice would have the legacy version as an option because i used it when they revamped the persona voice

For now the AI voices are being improved, they struggle to pick up the inconsistencies in your real voice and accent. So the cleanest input = better quality. Especially when it comes to background noise, which can negatively impact the voices.
