Have a look at some tutorials, I was able to convert my unity project and set it up to export as a "VRM".

You can then use VSeeFace to run your 3D avatar.

Works really well for mine!

It shouldn’t really matter as long as the model-to-VRM plugin/extension works. (it will probably be more dependent on the version than anything else)

Biggest mistake vtubers these days are using stationary microphones, may be a good mic but if you can't maintain proper distancing through your kinecs it'll be differentiating so much that'll just end up bad, especially if they don't process it something like a sm7b or other high end dynamic will always sound worse than a processed headset mic, peeps should invest in lavaliers/lip mics

I don't notice any issues with my setup. Having a decent mic on an arm bellow my chin level. So it doesn't interfere with my camera tracking.

I would say the best balance would be an Antlion ModMic if they are moving around often, sounds really good when processed properly.

I really don't think the sound of a headset mic comes close to the other options overall.

You'd still want professional equipment though, blue tooth won't be a good way to get a good signal, and unless your processing your microphone properly no matter how good it is and the environment, a cheaper mic that is processed correctly will out perform

My Pico 4 mic wirelessly over Virtual Desktop + processed using SteelSeries Sonar seems to be working fine for VR and livestreams. So I really think it's what works best for the user in their scenario, not just the hardware.

I can say for sure, going from my headset mic to a cheaper mic on an arm closer to my mouth, with decent noise suppression and correct levels sounds better overall. Agreed, when you move your head away from the mic of course it will not pick up your voice as much but it works for a lot of streamers who are mainly looking forward at their game/chat.

I don't see how Sonar is a bad application.

Maybe from a professional audio perspective, but for general users it does the job.

There’s a way to change a vr chat model to a vrm for vtubing using a package to convert it, but it so happens that it doesn’t want to work on my computer so I need someone else to do it for me

depends, do you want a 3d model or a 2d model? Vroid allows you to easily create a simple 3D Avatar, but can also create very stunning ones with a lot of complex animations and expressions. For 2D if you wish to use VTube Studio for streaming, then I think you need to create a Live2D Model, which needs the Live2D software to rig it but would need software like Krita or Photoshop to draw the model in a PSD format where you split the parts into different layers so that you can rig it in Live2D and then use it in VTube Studio. As far as I am aware of, you can also draw different fixed images of your model and use it for PNG Vtubing that just switch betweens the different PNG images but it isnt as animated and alive as a Live2D model or a 3D model.

You could make a model with VRoid Studio. It's free and it's on Steam so it's easy to install, and it exports in .VRM which is what most 3D VTubing software accepts.

you don't even need voicemod pro to make it sound good, just use the base "Clean" voice that's always free

biggest drawback is the headphone output, very weak ohm rating and only goes to 18khz

for monitoring it's okay but for music it's gonna suck

as long as you don't do anything like scooping the mids and bass boosting and boosting the highs like a voicemeeter kid you'll be good

The only issue I face with the raw mic, is I'm not always in a controlled environment, as you can hear the fireplace sounds in the bg, so I always rely on a little bit of noise reduction. Discord's is always disabled.

So I have a new concept coming in a few months and I'd like to combine it with a few voicemod settings, but I don't want them to be on all the time - can anyone recommend any kind of dial I could sync up so that I could freely turn up or down the voicemod tuning freely without having to be in the app?

At this time we don't have a way to control any of the FX inside a custom voices using hotkeys or dials

Also the program that I use, vmagic mirror allows me to move my characters head and arm with mouse movement since I don’t have a camera. But the problem is it messes up the models arm. I don’t know if I should use the arm movement part or not. It makes streams more immersive seeing his arm move while moving the mouse and typing but idk if I should keep it that way or not. I may just move the head and turn the arm part off. But idk what I should do.

I followed a tutorial, just imported univrm into the vrchat project, and exporting the entire thing as vrm-0
After reimporting it, and looking into the visemes, when sliding on the vowel sliders the whole face just gets ripped lol

Nothing amazing is needed, depends on the software you are wanting to use!

I use VSeeFace and that worked just as good on a older (when it was cheap) Logitech C920 vs my current Elgato Facecam.

30fps is more than enough (60fps uses more CPU power for little benefit), even 720p. Lighting is a lot more important for the tracking vs resolution. The software will run the tracking data at 60fps anyways regardless of the 30fps input.

I might need some setup guide to vSeefsce cuz with other tracking softwares they work, but the problem is all of them are paid softwares lol
