I was never able to get through the games to begin with, I wasn't old enough to play them when they came out, and now I am older they look too old on desktop for me to want to try them. But being in VR really draws you in

Graphics still hold up in VR surprisingly, seamless, fun

Like no where near as good as alyx in terms of functionality, they really perfected that, but it's just simple fun

I went through and just added a bunch of workshop mods, looks slightly better, the main improvement is the texture pack, blood and weapon model improvements. Some zombie/headcrab improvements, basically any "Alyx remake" style mod works well and increases the QOL.

The rest of the game/gameplay holds up amazingly, just got the gravity gun and it feels like it was built for VR, love it!

But also in the settings, I turned off a lot of the comfort settings, like vignette when you move and set the driving to be fixed to zero look movement other than your head and you then control the buggy with your move joystick.

Felt much better, otherwise I was looking around and the buggy would follow my head movement and made me feel less comfortable even though it's a comfort setting lol

I made my own battery strap by taping a cheap 5v battery bank to my head strap

I wouldn’t recommend it, the tape catches on my hair and it hurts. Also the battery bank can’t charge the headset fast enough to get positive charge and it dies sometimes
