I have slime VRs, they are excellent as long as they are working! Very affordable.
Be sure they are at least the 5+1 trackers. 2 legs, 2 thighs, 1 chest and then an extension for the hip.

Hmm I might be looking into that as well ๐ I recently found out 2 of my trackers are flashed with the 9dof firmware instead of 6dof, which is not suitable for my environment and causes a lot of drifting-
After reflashing they still drift quite a bit, so im still looking for suggestions and stuff -w-

Same with SlimeVRs now ^^ they've improved them so much.
Although they do tend to drift which is the nature of IMU trackers, you just need to Triple tap your chest tracker and the software quick "recalibrates" and it's back to the original position.
The pro = no occlusion, very similar accuracy & affordable.
Lighthouse tracking I'd only say 100% go for it if you already have lighthouses, better accuracy and stability, no drift, but as you said more expensive. I'd avoid for quest/pico users as it's extra costs with the lighthouses.
Everything has it's downsides, but for quick and affordable you can't go wrong until something better comes out

to answer your question, itโs just an improved game experience, itโs a social app after all, so being able to interface with the game and communicate better is always a plus
there nothing weirder than looking at your feet (or paws depending on how poorly your life is going) and seeing them move with your real feet
plus you can make gestures and dance and be freaky if that tickles your fancy
itโs only something iโd invest in if ur a nolifer like me tho

It's a mixture of blender as I'd have to match each avatars blendshapes, then unity to make sure it all syncs properly with animations etc. sometimes it doesn't always work especially with face movements (viseme)
And I am a unity only guy rn, I need to learn blender lol

I just duplicate the mesh in unity and test it there, so you're not saving over your original one
But yeah scary because you are literally saving over the original fbx so need to be super careful and it has to be saved over the original otherwise all the bones don't get linked, such a pain smh

Everything is setup as a VRCFury prefab, so I never have to "manually" setup anything. It's all drag and drop if I decide to not want to use something in the future.
Al the physbones are organised and then linked to the bone, so I don't need go searching for the bone
