u have to go in the steam settings and change the mic to voicemod

Currently Voicemod can only be used in PCVR, so any standalone VR headsets need to be connected to a PC wired or wirelessly for it to work with Voicemod as it normally would in your games

If you have a good local connection between your router and headset, wireless is flawless using Virtual Desktop

I can highly vouch for the Pico 4 if you are using it just for a PCVR headset. Although you may need to purchase a few upgrades (controller grips and better head rest + batteries) so an extra £100

I must admit, the Quest 3 is the much better choice now for standalone, hand tracking & AR. Again would need to get a better head strap and controller grips eventually.

I'd say the Quest 3 if you're able to get it using pay in 3

If you're on standalone you need a PC to use Voicemod still, currently we do not have an app for Meta/Pico headsets. Requires to use PCVR through your headset and use Voicemod like any normal game.

I have an HTC vive pro that weight at least 850g (1.8lbs) and I weight 37kg (81lbs)
So yeah I'm hurting myself everytime I play VR

I suggest you get some sort of counterweight then. The Oculus Quest 2 is also very front heavy and quite uncomfortable, but I got a battery strap and while it isn’t a full counterweight it is significantly better.

The default strap having no rigidity didn’t help either.

I also got a better face pad and controller grips. They’re nice and certainly make it more comfortable, but I don’t consider them anywhere near as important as proper weight distribution.

There is the HTC Vive Wireless Adapter, but it doesn’t look to be positioned ideally to function as a counterweight and the ratings chart doesn’t look very good. It’s also 3.4 pounds unless someone made a typo.

The HTC Vive Deluxe Audio Strap has a much better ratings chart and it’s significantly cheaper, but it’s only 8oz (227g) and it replaces the regular strap, so it won’t have very much impact on weight distribution. In fact, based on the weight discrepancy between the headset only listing on Amazon and the weight of your headset you might already have this.

Nvidia GPU = 4070 or above
AMD GPU = 7800 XT or above

Now you can of course go lower and everything will still work fine, but those are my recommendations with new parts. The VRAM and overall performance will come in handy, the more the better of course.

i still havent acc tried vram intensive stuff yet, blade and sorcery is a bit hard to run but i think thats just my cpu crying at all the physics, plus i havent had a proper display of the perf bc of my network issues

Currently it will only work when connecting to a PC and playing PCVR.

Either with a cable or wirelessly. But Voicemod doesn't work on standalone apps just yet.

I would 100% go for Quest 3 right now as an overall package, standalone and PCVR is perfect + Mixed reality. Pico 4 2nd if you only care for PCVR, wireless streaming and a bit more budget.

At this point I would also avoid the Quest 2, it's not worth jumping on at the moment unless you can pick one up for under £200/$200

Ok so in voicemod you've set your vr headsets mic and output?

Make sure in Steam VR you also go into your VR settings > Audio and manually set the input to your voicemod mic!
