slightly less facetiously yes, but black metal is such a colossally diverse genre that it's kinda hard to recommend some to start off with - when a genre contains both Lantlos and Reverorum Ib Malacht it can be hard to say 'this is one band you should check out.'
Deathspell Omega are the best black metal band bar none in the world, they're not criminal and they explicitly deny the concept of theistic Satanism (their work concerns metaphysics, and antichristianity in a Manichaeian way.) but their stuff can be hard work, they're exceptionally technical and abrasive. which i quite like!
