In MP we earn rank as follows:

legendary

Those who hit legendary get reset to master every new season

In weapon we also earn rank and at highest rank we get nickname perms

but every season your rank will reset to 5000 points only if you are above 5000 points, 5000 points is where you unlock nickname perms (hence the highest rank)

you'll have to use that weapon and grind for top 100 for that weapon once again in new season to get the sticker
