Yeah you can put any loot into an ultra insured slot, doesn't have to be ultra level. But if your ultra slot is full, then you can't put the ultra into that slot. You have to swap it out if you want to keep it insured.

But what does happen is, each match you play with your guns and armor, they deteriorate a little. So they need to be repaired periodically. If they get down to 0% you can't use them until they're repaired. Anything above 0% is usable in game, doesn't affect performance.

However, the lower the health % of your weapon/armor, the more it costs to repair. So you can either repair often for less $ per repair, or wait until it's really low to repair, but it will cost more at once. I think it all balances out, but it's good to know if you're on a budget.
