I been imagining recently about Rockstar Games making a GTA exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2. I was thinking that they made a upscaled cel-shaded version of GTA: Chinatown Wars using the OG top down perspective. I was thinking that they could make use of voice acting considering the fact that Chinatown Wars never had any dialogue. I really want to possibly see Huang Lee (now in his Mid-40s) and other characters apart of that Triad appear in the game. Most importantly, I would like to see different islands of cities from GTA: San Andreas put into the game with San Fierro and Las Venturas (check GTA: San Andreas Stories concept map) and possibly a city based off San Diego.

I absolutely do not see GTA VI coming to Nintendo systems until ‘15 YEARS LATER THE EARLIEST’. I also do not see a GTA V port coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 anytime soon. It is about time that if Rockstar were to add any additional studios (like how they recently acquired L.A. Noire), they allow at least two to four of these studios to develop smaller projects so we can get a new IP every five years or so….

Still, I think Rockstar should rerelease the classic trilogy, regardless how different they were on each platform, I think Rockstar would make good profit with the classic versions. rockstar classics: max payne 1 and 2 on rgl and steam are not functional out of the box and require heavy game patching to get them to work.. why are they even being sold if they don't work and aren't fixed by the game developers for modern hardware? i paid 10 bucks for max payne 2 on steam and it doesn't work

In 2018 or 2019, an update was made for the Xbox One due to the Xbox 360. Update removed tracks. In 2022 Take 2 named the Midnight Club series. In 2023 Red Dead was released onto the PS4 over 10 yrs later. I’m hoping the same happens for a new Midnight Club to release or the return of remastered &/or LA Complete, available for PS4/PS5. I own the physical versions but also have the updated steam versions on my PC, not the definitive edition mind you.

I have the Second edition of San Andreas with the Map, and the boxed copies of 3 and VC, problem with those is that those original PC ports are so unoptimized, it isn't funny. It's better to find those if you own the games already.

The steam versions before they got de-listed are probably the "Definitive" way to experience GTA on the PC. War Drum Studio's ports are being fixed by VGD right now, which that's helmed by former members of Team Bondi, so in the future, they should be able to make the game look alot better.

Grove Street Games cough, cough or as they were previously called, War Drum Studios even back then made some pretty shoddy ports on the ps2 including the Ghostbusters game on the Wii. That game wasn't bad for a last-gen game cause it was it's own thing and looked more like the DiC cartoon The Real Ghostbusters and let me tell you, that Time Life set, the one I have is not cheap, however the Sony set has the best of all the episodes for a cheaper price but that's a story for another day but getting to the details of the topic, the PS2 and PSP versions have alot of glitches. So it's either best to wait and see what VGD does or just play the steam versions for now.

For me, before I got a job, those versions were de-listed before I bought them so I got the physical versions instead to support the developers, the only de-listed games I have are the Mortal Kombat Arcade Collection, the original Prey by 3D Realms, and Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition, which all 3 are decent.

I have GTA IV complete and GTA 5 though since I got 5 for free on EGS.

I never used the downgrader tool tho, how does that work out of curiosity?

The reason why GTA: San Andreas Stories never happened is because GTA: Liberty City Stories and GTA: Vice City Stories were originally released to be PSP exclusives. GTA: Vice City Stories already exceeded people’s expectations when the entire map from the original was able to fit on a portable console in 2006! GTA: San Andreas map would’ve crashed the PSP.

My idea is for Rockstar to create a new GTA game set in Carcer City — a dark, violent place already mentioned in GTA III and home to the Manhunt series. The game could be called Grand Theft Auto: Carcer City and show a more brutal and gritty side of the GTA universe. Later, they could also make Carcer City Stories, like they did with Liberty City and Vice City. It would be cool if it connected with Manhunt, maybe through in-game news or side missions. The main reason this never happend was that the game was (originally) released in May 2011, and following its success Rockstar and the development company Team Bondi initially DID start planning for a sequal, unfortunately though, Bondi was liquidated in October the same year and is actually why there's no mention of them on the remaster. With nobody who knew about the initial game's story and therefore how to plan a se/prequel around it left, and Rockstar unable to do it all on their own, LA Noire 2 was ultimately scrapped.

GTA Online as a concept is/was supposed to carry all titles via social club.

Even RDR2 had social club.
