As everyone was, I was excited to see the heat update finally release and well, I am a little sad to say I had mixed feelings. It is still an amazing idea for the game, I just had two big points I wanted to bring up...

  1. Firewall speed:
    Giving us the ability to explore the missions in a non-linear trajectory was an amazing idea! Though I feel like me and my friend never really got to experience the exploration element as the firewall had a major leap with each jump. Maybe that part is just me but if anyone else felt a bit strangled with it all or think its fine pls feel free to correct me but maybe I was overthinking the penalty from being caught in it as to try avoid it as much as possible while getting rid of enemy presence.

  2. on foot enemies - final objective
    Now, usually this game is good with optimising what threats fit with whatever sized crew players have, but I was in a duo for a vault breach mission and we died countless times because while the amount of legion flooding the corridors and entrance/exit was overwhelming, at least for only two players. I do love big crowds of enemies but when they become straight up bullet sponges that take a whole magazine of a mark 3 halberd to kill (heat level 39 we had some issues with performance and avoiding firewall) which made the whole experience go from thrilling to straight up annoying. maybe it would work with groups of 4 but please optimise the ground enemies for smaller teams fighting them or decrease spawn rate.
    I hope my feedback was helpful or relatable to other players cause I'm really excited to see everything from this update polished soon

The amount of ground enemies spawned is based on player numbers, so while it does change, maybe the balance for Duos isn't perfect right now. We can tweak these in the coming days for sure, thanks for letting us know.

We are still tweaking the speed of the Firewall. It's most likely too fast. I do agree that the wall feeling too scary that it discourages branching out to more sectors isnt great.

Maybe the firewall itself could be a modifier for the mission itself? So there are some missions that maybe have less areas but offer no limit on moving around. I only say this because I never liked losing out on stuff in games like Slay the spire

The difficulty for four players seems to be all the same, we really nearly failed easy and trivial missions today as a usually well-rounded team previously playing moderate and the occasional hard. Very sad about the new balancing of the on-foot enemies with heat between 10-30 points. only heat 0 felt near normal so there seems to be no real choice to routing if you're always required to get heat down to 0
