I allways find it quite underwhelming when the Jammer Ship, is just ah small fighter.
My Idea was to make it new Ship that will not be able to attack (or just have light guns) behing rather the Sice of an Corvette.
And the Main Features woud be that its also ah Carrier of small ships. Wich woud give it the Ability to send of small fighters.
Therefore it makes more sense why there is such ah Big Fleet around the Jammer making it much more fearful and dangerous to deal with.

How about a carrier size ship? sends waves of light fighters and you have to board it to get rid of the jammer? New game dynamic and split team effort for a squad. it'd be hard solo but 2 could theoretically handle it at higher difficulties.
