A single, square patch with custom logo/insignia easily added via JPEG file, in similar fashion as Half-Life had their spray logos in MP, to either show-off personal attitude or gaming clan affiliation.

More sophisticated patch system with in-game supplied set of patches, something like in-game rank, critical missions finished or usual team role would be pie in the sky, then again, there are almost no games that would take any serious effort into that...

But at least a slot for a single, custom (player supplied), personal patch would be great.

I can already smell the hate symbols.

I think if they do this they should stick to in-universe logos n such.

How so? I feel like limiting it to diegetic logos would make a lot of sense, considering that the source engine's spray system is more complex to code than one would assume, especially given that it's an ultimately negligible feature.

Keeping it limited to official symbols has the opportunity to make it more engaging my hiding some of them behind achievements or progression, making players work together to hunt them. It could also allow for more community involvement in the form of design competitions.
