#New Mission Types

I had some ideas for new mission types.
Type 1 - To help recruit more Atirans to the cause, deliver supplies to outposts, weapons to some would be soldiers, or a new jump drive to a stranded ship.

Type 2 - Intruders have boarded the ship and planted a hidden tracker. You have to keep jumping rapidly to new sectors to outrun a pursuing fleet while Iris scans for the hidden device on the ship.

Type 3 - Stealth mission. Steal an enemy transponder to make your ship appear to be a part of the enemy fleet. Then proceed on a reconnaissance mission deep into enemy territory. Make sure to keep your distance from enemy vessels. They still have eyes, you know.

Type 4 - Mining run. We need some valuable materials. Visit an asteroid field to gather raw materials. Equipped mining lasers are required.

Thought of a variation to the stealth mission. The front of a Corvette has the pilot window similar to the Catamaran. Instead of stealing a transponder you could steal a Corvette in dry dock.

2 and 3 sound really cool especially the idea of... "Acquiring" an enemy Corvette, and 1 would be fun as well. 4 sounds kinda tedious and less fun

Speaking of stealing a ship — I'd suggest making a mission about hijacking a cargo vessel docked at some moon port. The cargo ship is already present in game in missions of stealing cargo.

It's a huge ship, so mission can have plenty of chambers full of guardians (w/o unlimited respawn though) and many intermediate tasks to complete on foot. Meanwhile, there might be guardians in space as motivation to move faster.

Stolen cargo ship also opens new opportunities for next missions — like big cargo delivery to a frontline, or relocation to a new base after current base location is compromised to Machines.

Sure, just mining wouldn't be very action packed, but I figured that's just the Mcguffin to get you in space. Potentially equipped with ship weapons you might not normally use. Or getting the players to interact with the power grid during the mission if they want to swap between the mining lasers and some of the other heavier multi turrets when bad guys show up.

Another potential variation is protecting civilian mining ships while they do their thing. Everyone loves an escort the NPC mission, right? Right?

Another idea is raiding a machine battlecruiser — need to attack various systems from space first, then perform an on-foot raid. It's like a space boss.
Also, it might have some assistance from nearby (e.g. repairing stations floating around), so players have a choice what to kill first, his guns or those healers.

If only we could make our space weapons shoot from 2-3 km range...

A smaller option is hijacking some cruiser (sized smaller than a cargo ship) which we could fly in the next missions. Since devs are considering adding a bulky cruiser ship, that's an option to fit it in the story.

Thought of another one.

Ground assault on a raptor factory. You have to assist resistance forces on the ground and in the air. On the ground you're planting charges to destroy the factory. In the air you're destroying reinforcement landing craft. Perhaps Vey and Rikter come along to help as well.

Then you all slow walk away from the cool explosion.
