Yup, we recognize there are improvements to be made to Dart. Remaking parts of the ship and not just tweaking code will take a little longer, but we agree that accessing the top or bottom shouldnt be quite this frustrating

I think it can stay in its current form, as a reward for completing a mision, but that will be a team decision.
Weapons you bring into a new mission do lose their materia value too.

Adding the vendors I think will satisfy the people asking for a locker or storage for their guns. They seem to want more guns, without considering the current game design fully

The thing is like, we would need to rework so much of the game's code and put in some anti-cheat measures to make PvP doable. Even when it's a separate mode.
The game is simply not built for PvP, as we've always intended it to be strictly PvE co-op. It's harder for us to add than people think, and it's not a effort we think is worth it when there's so much more main game content we can spend that time on

We are aware that auto-ending missions cause a lot of frustrations instead of being cool, we're thinking of how to fix this but suggestions are welcome.

One thing we might try is add a countdown before the cutscene, giving you a little time to collect the last stuff and hold onto what you want to keep

On a technical level, we might do that once we add the power grid preview to the hangar, so that you can see the special weapons pop up on the side in real time.
This doesn't change that being onboard the ship would still be a blocker for if the captain wants to make changes to the ship (color, special weapons) or change ship entirely.

A locker would be leaning towards a game design where we want weapons to be more permanent, which we currently kind of don't. This might change in the future, but weapons should be plentiful but stay within the mission like everything else.
We compromised and added this item carryover thing because while the game is missing features like the Vendors, not having carryover just felt too bad. But players getting too attached to items was never our intention

As cool as it would be, I don't think we will ever have split-screen co-op :c
It's a very big feature to create, and we have to draw the line somewhere on what can be put into the game. Some things will just be out of scope, unfortunately

We have not even considered it. It's true that the game will grow over the years, and some big features might get added in the future.
But some things will just always be too much.

Open-world and PvP? Won't happen.
Split-screen? You see my point.

I absolutely do not want to rain on anyone's parade, and I do want you to stay excited about the roadmap and what this game will turn into 🔥 but some honesty about "don't set your expectations skyhigh about features the game was never designed to have" also seems fair and healthy

Actually not entirely correct, its not missions but rather amount of jumps. Which persists between missions
I think its like 2 or 3 jumps and mk3 should start showing up

My thoughts: Having to worry about what items are in your 3 inventory slots right at the end of a mission when you're under fire by endless ships [e.g cargo mission] is very stressful and fustrating if you forget, also other player crashes reverting inventory state to last known instead of hanger[maybe have a choice between] there is a potential for intentional griefing here too by force crashing to delete target's inventory if you know they put their weapons on shelf

Dev response:

We completely agree. Having a crucial mechanic rely on no disconnects happening at all, in a game that is still unstable where these things happen is not ideal.
Once spontaneous connection issues have been ironed out, we hope this becomes a non-issue, along with Quality of Life improvements to how loot functions

1) Let blocking (RMB) reset the swing counter.

I like the idea of the deflect resetting the attack counter

2) Set different swing animations to deal different amounts of damage

Attacks did have different damage but something broke in the Augmented Update so all weapons deal the same damage, because the overhead wrench attack did deal more damage than the other attacks before, but theres a bug that makes the wrench deal the highest damage on every swing which is not intended Oops
