robots are cool and all but we really wanna kill some bugs in space, stranded big ship full of creatures inside or bug planets/city, some sort of infestation happening in the player ship that has to be contain or gets out of control maybe even some sort of advance alien race too would be cool

aka "MAKE YOUR GAME MORE LIKE THE OTHER GAMES I LIKE!".... is that what you're getting at?

livid juniper
#

using these images as references im sure you all get what im saying lol

fiery lodge
#

are you gonna ask for space squids next?

rare elbow
#

I can appreciate the idea of adding new threats; like an alien race or something, but don't ask for the game to just be made like Helldivers 2 or Space Marine.

livid juniper
#

no need to be passive aggressive my friends i just wanna kill some space bugs im not saying to change anything just give me more stuff to kill and big ship full of nightmare creatures i think it would be a cool addition

tidal socket
#

agreed, some of you are just being a whole horses arse about this.

livid juniper
#

im not dissing on the game its great and the robots are a very nice faction but more is always welcome keeps the game alive longer too

and I have no problem with questions being asked and ideas being given, but don't try to turn this game into other ones, it has it's own corse and it's own narrative, and it's ok if there aren't bugs in this one. I know that a lot of the hell divers community has jumped (no pun intended) to this game, but let's not just turn it into the same thing. I apologize for my passive aggressive comments, It's fair to offer the idea. I would just say enjoy this game for what it offers, and if obliterating bugs into a slimy green soup is what you want, it's ok to play a different game and get that, and when you're desiring seamless space to ship transitions again... come on back! again, sorry for the passive aggressive, best of luck out there!

YEAH would be nice to have some fleshier melee enemies as well as bots

#

a derelect salvage missions would be cool infested with some sort of alien threat

Make it a random event that spawns with a derelict space station that is pitch black inside with a monster that sneaks aboard

#

And then ambushed players in the ship( and uses vents)

dry nova
#

After playing DRG I'm kinda done with bug like enemies 😄

north mantle
#

They could even have some cool alerts like "bio hazard detected, Investigation required"

#

When I first played and was on a mission to collect scrap I was really hoping for a monster to be in the darkness, proper alien vibes from some of those areas

vague depot
#

eh, not ASAP. Maybe after release and a solid bit of story with the Legion is handled.

From my notes of an old Q&A:
Will there be space monsters ?

devs:
There will be no horror or any type of gore in the game.
You only fight machines, there is no alien.
Hopefully one day there will be organics but adding a new enemy faction is a lot of work and we are a small studio.

livid juniper
#

well hopefully the devs get lots of money and get famous and big enough that they can improve their game in ways that they cant even imagine so i still look at future of this game with bright eyes that they might add something of the sort

I'll disagree on this for the simple fact of... Well, the story is about fight robots. I like that a lot, I'm a bit tired of fighting bugs and such XD

I imagine a mission where players must slowly fly through winding tunnels in an asteroid to an abandoned laboratory.
In the tunnels, monsters will fall from the ceiling onto the ship.
Rare but powerful defensive turrets will damage the ship, forcing players to exit to repair the hull.
Players will be grabbed and dragged away by terrifying creatures.
Security gates preventing further flight will force players to leave the ship to open them.
And in the laboratory itself, players will have a long journey through terrifying corridors, hacking doors and terminals, delivering loot, and defending rooms using barricades and turret activation.
And at the very end, just before the jump, it will be revealed that...

I would buy this DLC

jaunty eagle
#

Just seems so out of place at the moment XD

I feel like that would be a major lore change. I might need to recheck things tho

prime nexus

What if it turns out it was a simulation created by the Resistance to transform humans into machines?
So, fighting monsters is a battle between the human brain and its own body. It turns out the player character agreed to cyberneticization, but because the entire body is planned to be replaced with cybernetic implants, it was necessary to ensure that the brain and nervous system wouldn't reject such a massive modification.
And when the character kills the main monster, they realize they've killed themselves just as the machines did. But they'll remember that they chose this path so that the Resistance could develop the ultimate weapon against the machines.
Thus, the player will become a space cyborg killer with a charging port instead of an asshole.

jaunty eagle
#

Maybe? This just seems a lot of lore changes just to add fleshy monsters to a game XD

prime nexus
#

So what about Vosk? His strange tales about the nature of matter allow us to imagine terrifying creatures that weren't even present in DeadSpace.

#

My understanding is that additional enemy factions are outside the current scope of the game--but I'd enjoy facing some enemies with a little more personality, even if they don't have exoskeletons or mutated meaty parts.

I think the little flamethrower crawler bots kind of point to the fact that you can satisfy the feeling of squishing bugs without needing to make a whole new faction.

I'm sure as the ground enemy designs evolve we'll get more diversity that will surely satisfy the feeling of wanting to squish bugs Yaay

the more i play the game the more i wish there was some kind of scary alien bug or creature waiting to stalk me in the corner or something haha we even have a cave dungeon like come on you telling me there couldn't be a planet with some nightmare creatures just waiting for you there

GIVE US BUGS TO KILL

low forge
#

100% agree with this one some sort of alien or meat monster faction would be nice to fight the robots are cool now but people have short attention spam and they will get boring fast

dapper herald
#

If you want to kill bugs in space why not just play helldivers?

livid juniper
dapper herald
#

This game shouldn't need to copy a popular game

#

all it needs are space sharks

livid juniper
dapper herald
#

the last few messages have been about asking for alien bugs

livid juniper

dapper herald
#

Ah I see, I just read the most recent messages, didn't realize this was open to any type of alien

#

There definitely needs to be some sort of variety at some point

livid juniper
#

yea for sure and yea of course any type of alien whatever the devs could come up with i would be grateful to just have the opportunity to even have another faction to fight is all

dapper herald

furthermore there was plenty of games that involved killing bugs before helldiver fyi

#

and if you only going to keep antagonizing me my friend u can just leave a thumbs down no need to say passive aggresive comments to anything i say sorry im taken already lol

I think extraterrestrial lifeforms faction would fit well (however no bugs), if we do this then I believe we should do it in an ✨ original ✨ way, and if we need lore base then a "more advanced than some bugs" alien civilisation that jumped from another galaxy would probably be a good way to go about this. Perhaps even some inside faction disputes would also be a great addition (be it between us or them, this always results in really great chaos storywise) but if the devs decide this would be too gore'ish then we shouldn't press this matter I think.

buoyant juniper

What's with all the clown emotes 😭

#

I'm sure some of you guys are adults, you can disagree and have a mature conversation without resorting to that lol

#

Wait are those just alts?

livid juniper
buoyant juniper
#

Anyway, another enemy faction/type of sorts is an interesting idea, I'll admit

#

Definitely not against it as a whole, although I think it's something I'd like to see further down the line, beyond early access if you get where I'm going with this

#

Sorta like an expansion

livid juniper
#

of course let them complete the road map fully optimize the game everything they gotta do before they even consider something like this im very patient even if it takes years

buoyant juniper
#

For sure

#

I'm just happy we have got another studio with devs as nice and passionate as the legends from GSG, so I think that no matter what, we probably will be able to arrive at some type of consensus with them

wise lance
#

I really don't want this, cause then that leads to giant bug ships then space magic and I'm worn out on cray psychic space cults just no. Lime what you like but thats my opinion.

loud summit
#

I think 'giant bug ships then space magic' is a giant reach

buoyant juniper
#

I also think that's a pretty big reach

#

Not really sure how you go from space bugs to psychic space cults with magic 😭

#

It feels like you're referencing something very specific that's not at all like Jump Space

wise lance
#

I mean iv seem many space games go that way not straight there mind you but my point is I'm cool with what ever as long as we don't have to deal with space wizards or some bippity boppity boo chaos.

loud summit
#

space magic seems outside the realm of this game fortunately

#

for now, at least
It doesnt really align with the premise of the story.

buoyant juniper
#

But your hatred of space wizards is noted

trail topaz
#

i dont mind additional enemy types, but horror games suck. keep that crap outa here.

livid juniper

I think I agree with others that bug / monster type enemies are kinda overplayed at this point.

I do agree additional factions would be cool in a couple years after game optimization and roadmap.

My suggestion would be a rival human faction (pirate / rouge type?) that can either operate independently or hack the robots to their side (evil iris?)

# livid juniper i take it you hate psykers from 40k then ? lol

Them, the hive from destiny, the flood from halo (though thats a stretch no cult but psychic in lore), the reapers from mass effect (though I never truly played that series but people told me magic space cult so...) the illuminate from helldivers (even if not bug) I could go on but I already made my point
