A little hard to tell because of depth perception, but wrecked buoys can spawn in gravity wells with no visible explanation to how they are floating.
Maybe add some unique POIs for gravity wells instead of using the normal space ones?

yea, I find also weird when you character is affected by the gravity but not the POIs you want to board. Also, that can you lets the ship floating on any position in those field.

My favorite is the hollow rock that you can stand on 3 different sides of. At least the buoys you can assume have some kind of sci-fi reason or is aloft.

I have a few gripes with this as well. A disabled corvette shouldn't be floating around in a well. They should smash into the ground and come with their own animations for it.
Then there's that one mission that takes place in what clearly looks like the upper atmosphere of a planet, maybe even a gas giant. You can't tell me that there is an atmosphere but I also can't fall to my death.

I mean space ships work based on vectored thrusters and it could be easily argued that the ones in this game are VTOL aircraft.
