#Make the multi-tool not take a slot

Basically, we should be able to carry 4 items plus the multi-tool. I think this should solve a lot of issues and also help with the whole 'keep weapon or not after each mission ends' discussion.

and i dont really see them being op. in difficulty 1&2 you are finding mk1 anyways in 3+ multi tool doesnt have the damage to kill anything fast enough so you would have to constanly run and hide to not die

I love the javelin but I feel the ammo count is not enough to do a full on-foot combat encounter, maybe I should be swapping to multi-tool for the small enemies

This is a great idea actually, especially considering that you're not even supposed to be able to drop the multitool

This is the same as just asking for another item slot. It will always be the multitool + N items for some number N. I would rather they make inventory size and the behavior of the multitool be things you can change with your spec (when they add character progression in the first phase of updates) instead of just giving a flat buff to everyone

If youre out of ammo and your wrench replaces your multitool infinite ammo pistol youre fucked against flying drones

Either way, I don't see multitools taking up a slot, more that it's just a hotkey. 3 slots is frustrating because it's just below the number you need to comfortably carry everything you would generally want with you

Yeah normaly ammo health primary and secondary. Everybody just having three slots encourages teamwork. Alternativly they could have put in auto health regen in it like cod. Which would make everyone a camping one man army ^^

So you want an additional inventory slot? You should understand that multitool does not take a slot, it just we only have 3 empty slots available to us. And as far as i am concerned, its ok. Makes you choose what to carry with you.

And i think right now its pretty well balanced.

I'm saying that's the way it already is. 1 multitool and 3 item slots. How could they change it to bring peace of mind? Alter the UI? Change the default keybind?

Adding slots will bring a lot of problems.
Currently the game balanced around the idea that player shouldn't have enough ammo to go though a combat.

Or you can take second weapon with you, but then you will have only a single slot to carry things.

The amount of empty slots player have is balanced around the amount of loot we get on the mission.

So by adding slot, player could carry additional weapons, which will make ammo boxes basically useless, because combined ammo of two weapons are usually enough to go through a combat, and you still be able to carry all loot you find.

One solution to that would be reducing amount of ammo per gun you can carry, another to have weapons share ammo. But let be honest, no one would like either of that.

Loving the healthy discussion here btw. For the record, I think at mission end you should lose everything you're carrying. And that loot should be more abundant in misisons. Vendors might change the whole game, let's see.

because when you run out of ammo with the weapons you are carrying in 3+ the multi tool is usless you cannot survive with it.

It's not that difficult to replenish your ammo

In MP one of players carries ammo box to the site.

I would argue that's poor preparation

There's an ammo restore station in the ship, it's very easy to replenish it, especially if you have 3 weapons + 3 other teammates

Not to mention the ammo box which you can also take with you to your next battle if, for whatever reason, you're down on ammo
