#Targeting ship when my character is the one to be noticed

I find this extremely annoying too, I don't think the AI can distinguish that the player is not part of the ship
If I, as an EVA player, alert the horde without the ship in sight, the enemy should fire on ONLY me instead of making a break for the player ship
but I also don't think the enemy ship AI has the capabilities to fire on player characters yet
anyway, most likely not a bug, might just simply be an oversight or an unpopular intended feature
actually that reminds me, I noticed during the Distress call missions, when the hostile or friendly ship targets one another it seems to give the players ship a target lock warning
oh... that's inconvenient huh lol
I mean they dont seem to notice you till the normal timing, but you get the warning
so just to clarify:
All target locks, regardless of who is targeting what, and as long as it's not the player locking onto something else, the HUD says the player ship is being locked when it isn't?
ally to enemy lock, enemy to ally lock, and enemy to player locks all trigger the "target locking" alert
The enemy ship AI is going to get an overhaul in the not-so-near future, this might be fixed as part of that but there's no guarantee
presumably its the same code from the demo for the targeting warning, and they didnt have the ally ship when they coded it. So they probably made it so if there was a target lock from anything but your ship you get a warning
because at the time there was no target locking on anything but your ship, exept for your ship doing it
yeah that checks out, I've been peeking at the code and there's a lot of strange quirks like this in other places of the game
uhhhhh, it's pretty coherent from what I've seen lol
ok good, I dont want another WOW cats throwing up from being drunk situation
that was dwarf fortress, but yeah same lol
I don't have the authentic original code, mind you, it's a jumbled reverse engineered impression of the code but it's good enough
anyway, off topic... I'll make a separate report for this and link it here
probably a good idea
another off topic thing, you playing jump space rn?
nah, digging through code
fair, sadly I have no friends... and well... buddy isnt the best help
correctiong, I have friends... just non that play jump space
the JS community is pretty friendly for the most part, hop in some voice channels with under 4 people in it and you could join them
