Ok this is totally a suggestion for long-down the line, but there has been some space genres that mixed in some Country vibes into Frontier vibes, some examples of these games playing the Sci-fi genre:

  • Hardspace: Shipbreakers - Spaceship Salvager under contract, dangerous conditions, and a shelf-life of 5 years.
  • Star Trucker - Star faring truckers, hauling cargo on space highway, across hazardous environments
  • Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty - So many Western and bar themes going on, and all the workers unions
  • Steamworld Heist - A lot of Wild West themed robots, fighting against digitals
  • Starfield - A lot of aesthetic here between space corporations and frontier societies, but never capitalised on it.

Jump Space already has it's own image, it leans in really well, what I'd love to see is some themes adding to the environment itself, but Jump Ship shouldn't sacrifice identity, so these are gonna be some soft suggestions, but I will be leaning into the theme.

Suggestions

Weapon Suggestions:

  • Fan-Revolver: A single-action revolver that fires themed shots (Laser, Rocket, or Bullets) or is a reskin for the Utility gun. Could be a Easter egg or a related character.
  • Lever-Action Rifle: A lever-action rifle that fires similar to the Marksman Rifle.
Alternatively, it could act like an Action-Charged Rifle, where each pump loads a additional charge/munition from the stock into the receiver, like a Railgun.
  • Melee Weapon, Mag Whip: Ok this is a list of suggestions, each OP in a sense, but not dead set: Whip when hitting flying enemies, can whip them into the ground; Walkers can be tripped temporarily, to stun them; Small enemies, like spiders and spear bomb bots, can be gripped and immediately thrown away into other robots.
This can be included as a Special or Heavy attack to differentiate.

Music

Inclusion of background music or Radio station that has some real casual guitar music in the background would be enough to fill this section out well.

Lyrics are welcome, but aren't necessarily needed IMO, as having the guitar strums experience in the background sets a great mood.

NPCs

These can be either any range of other distress workers, blue collar people, mining operations, cargo transport networks, or other space frontier communities who are just by themselves trying to survive.

If doing those kinds of those community style survivors commune, similar to the Resistance coalition, isn't practicable, the addition of some singular characters who bring that sort of space frontier would still be great, especially if he's just strumming the guitar in the background. ||I'm Saying it. Ain't nothing like over the comms the supportive character chimes in for moral support.

Anything else, probably be suggested by others, but I think that's it for now!!

Really like the themed weapon ideas, as it would add a lot more variety to the game. It would be cool if in peaceful sectors you saw little towns and stuff where people were surviving as well

#

And better music would be amazing

Vibing through space with the jukebox having unique tracks would be awesome

As much as I’d like more Firefly vibes, this is astronauts vs robots. I don’t really feel the cowboy vibe in this one. It would feel forced and out of place, not to mention a full revamp of aesthetics.

For cosmetic themes in your landing site/hangar I completely agree. Being able to modify it to suite your aesthetic is something that I think will be added down the line. There are radios and jukeboxes where they could add the ambience music you are talking about but its all about, maybe it can be added to the ship as well so that you can modify which standard soundtrack is available during missions.

Regarding Weapon variety, skins etc i don't see the harm in it. We'll just have to give developers the time to implement/adjust it to their vision.

I would have it lean into a more Mass Effect style, with Cyberpunk-ish abilities
