I've lost at least 6 Ingots to the Cap as I was still playing when at 30 Ingots and not earning any more as I didn't realise I was at a cap

Yeah, in reality ingot cap should be 100 unless you can use them in other players lobbies, I average 8-10 per mission so at the moment you can only do 3 with a friend before you have to leave their lobby and go to your own hanger to spend them, or just waste the into oblivion.

maybe just remove the cap or set it extremely high

like why have a cap at all?

I didn’t even know there was a cap, so thanks for making this suggestion.

they should remove it when they add endless missions

not realising you have a cap in the first place is a nightmare, spending 2+ hours in a lobby with your friends to have to back-out and go to your own world to spend your capped ingots to then have to back out and rejoin your friends also massively interrupts your gameplay.
(Ive not actually tried to purchase upgrades in host lobbies, so im unaware if that is possible... should have checked that first before backing out every 5 or so missions.)

Definitely necessary, as I wasn't even aware of a cap until I read this.

It's a silly cap in my opinion, I don't see the genuine need for it to exist beyond like 999.

At the very least some upgrades are in their 20s, so you need to farm it and then immediately spend it where you could even be at 23 do a large mission with friends and end up getting 15 ingots and losing a fair chunk of them for no reason.

Considering it's only possible to spend them in your hanger and not during the game (this is fine) the limit just shouldn't be there to ensure this doesn't happen.

I would like to know the logic for the cap, I am struggling to see any merit to it so curious what the thought process was for it besides trying to stop farming for new components down the line? Which just seems a bit silly as it will always happen, it's up to the player to spend their time like that.

My friend and I were playing for a few hours with me as host. We didn't know about the cap and ran another mission after he was at 30 and got a bunch more ingots, which he didn't get. He was pretty pissed about wasting an hour on basically nothing, and also needing to leave the session to go spend his ingots on upgrades. IMO if Keepsake insists on having a cap, it needs to be properly expressed as XX/(CAP), otherwise they are going to piss off a lot more players who are spending a lot of time on a friend's ship. I agree with the others here that the cap should be much higher, but the main issue is that everyone is forced to find out about it the hard way. This is basically my only complaint in an otherwise excellent game.
