Hello!

The worsen performance in late games can be atributed in character interactions tho I think the system is kinda bad implemented. In the modern age we sent messages through Discord and it reaches the other side of the planet literally in seconds but it is in the absence of this technology that we realize how dificult communication really is. Crusader Kings 3 gameplay takes place in medieval times so, the game must have some form of messengers which according to their skills may deliver messages and requests according to their skills that would define how fast a message could be delivered or how far they can travel and in an extend how many characters you can interact with.

Now I think that this should be applied to both landed and unladed characters, or at least pay to interact with a character. Like by stock, you from Ittaly can interact with Great Britain kingdoms, and have a response in a matter of days like your literally ordered something with UPS... soo with no planes and trucks I think that this is unrealistic. Their travel should be more or less like how you normally travel in the game so you may pay for them to have a safer route. Also I would like to have realistic estimates and not fictional about their speed and how far a messenger can travel.

What do you guys think? A bit of realism together with game performance?

This would make performance worse imo. Characters you can interact with is already limited with diplomatic range so this would only add many many more characters roaming the map delivering messages.

As for performance goes the AI seems to be having issues due to the increased interactions with other dukes, kings etc. So having a more realistic and challenging way to communicate would automatically limit the AI interactions.

I view the current implementation of the game as non realistic and unchallenging. Having an on off button doesn't change anything. This thing shouldn't even be in the rules.

I mean the idea isn't as is and if anyone likes it can post his version here.

For arguments sake, you can shrink the diplomatic range even further in the game rules on game start.

I know tho that means that the message will still be sent for free while in reality an extraordinary effort is put into sending the message-request-whatever.

Also this will not have the chance of the message failing to reach someone. Due to him dying in the way etc. I can even think of events where the messenger is caught when he passes from territory where there is war and the message is destroyed, thus for reference sending a marriage request fails.

In an extent the delivery of the message will be near instant while in reality it requires more than 30 days sometimes (from e.g. Germany to South Italy)etc.
