i've said it multiple times , chidori needs to become a 1-1.5sec running cast giving you a temporary speed boost and a boosted melee with its own damage and lightning effects that stuns the target being hit for like 1sec without aoe effect.

tbh the jutsu ingame doesn't even match how functions at anime and manga, outside the charging in hand. Chidori/Raikiri both should be chargable jutsu yes, but also shouldn't be charge into instant hit.

Instead should be charging the attack, then running at enchanced speed, and while running draining slightly chakra to maintain the tecnique. Due to that, the dmg can be increased, but hey! At least is gonna be accurate now

Sounds like a skilled issue you are having have you practiced it on moving targets or just dummies?

Rework it into a charged jutsu that dashes in a line rather than a point and click homing.

The longer you charge the jutsu the more range you have on the dash and the longer the stun time.

(To make it easier to land you would do some small lightning current around you where you dash)

hmm not bad i think the ys version would be better where you get 7 to 8 sec speed boost and you got ot hit one target this way it can be used to escape too
