Sorry if this was already suggested or done by the devs
But I wanted to suggest to have a bunch of minigames scattered around the map to give the players something to do other than normal game progression
Here some propositions :
-
Shōgi (or also known as Japanese Chess)
As it name suggests it, it is game of Shōgi that can be found at the entrance or side of a house with an old man npc that explains the rules (trough maybe quests asking the player to do X moves in the game) -
Go (I mean the game)
Same as the Shōgi it can be found in a house or 2 (maybe multiple ones) and trough either a side quest (that gives no Exp or money) the player learns to play the game or just have an npc explain the rules
And in both games the player can either play against an AI or another player
- drawing contest
In this one the players would have to connect multiple points on the screen to form shapes and gain score depending on their speed there is also a time limit to each set of points to connect
Once all players have completed the sets or times runs out their scores are compared and the one with highest wins
(The drawings should kinda be connected to Japanese culture or demon slayer)
- paper planes race
In this one players throw their paper planes and race trough different locations of the map
Like a forest where they have to avoid trees and some obstacles
Or a mountain range where there are strong winds and so on
The goal is to be the first plane to reach the end
Hope it was helpful and sorry for my bad grammar
Also using side quests as mean to introduce the minigames might be a good idea (at least in my perspective and I might be wrong) and if anyone has cool minigames don't hesitate to write them.
