One of the many issues and at least for me the biggest one is the pacing

It's just awful

As much as enjoyable one piece may be from time to time I do think there are many faults with it:

Writing

The world building is fantastic, among the best in anime/manga
Character writing - there are some pretty interesting characters but many aren't that interesting as well, it's a bit of a hit and miss
Story - it's pretty generic shounen story which doesn't have an ending (assuming cuz it makes money so they want to stretch it out as much as possible)
Plot is meh, generic shounen
Animations/art
Aniamtions for most the anime are unappealing - it does improve Ill give it that
Art is whatever - manga art is pretty nice tho
Character designs (forgot to add this one to my list) - most characters have ugly designs
There was a lot of pointless shots to stretch out the episode length - leads to poor directing - bad pacing

Characters bit of a mix, few are interesting others aren't. Nothing special in that regard, overall story cool concept but dragged out far too long. Plot is fine just another shounen.

Since it's an anime the quality of the anime is also a factor. This includes - animation quality - how consistent it is - how fluid it is - still frames ? - pointless shots ? = Links to poor directing choices leading to had pacing.

Directing is very important - is it needed ? - how much filler? - how many wasted frames where nothing happens so that they can stretch the episode out

Whether someone does or doesn’t like one piece is up to them

Though it doesn’t make the fact that it’s good any different. Number 1, the world building is incredible compared to all the other shounen out rn. 2, the villains and female casts aren’t some over rated weak people but rather well made characters which have a great backstory and dream related to their childhood or just a desire they have. And 3, one piece is a goatee anime but it isn’t for everyone but that doesn’t change the fact that some of the coldest moments in anime have happened in one piece. Finally 4, one piece is a long journey which takes you through a roller coaster of emotions it has its ups and downs but in the end it makes you love characters that you probably wouldn’t have in any other anime.

I agree with world building being great. I've said this for the past 3 days. For characters it kinda depends, some are great others I don't think are all that special and are just like any other shounen character so a hit and miss but that's just every story. Point 3 isn't an objective point enjoyment is entirely subjective. Point 4 that's just any story - one piece is just stretched out longer but the largest issue with the anime is that it's poorly paced. Also liking characters which you wouldn't have liked at the start is a common practice in writing. One piece isn't the only one which does this.
