World building and story writing. plain and simple, literally the same as mha naruto aot just a shonen type ass genre. predictable like a chess game, riddle me this the mc’s loved one die, mc screams loudly tries to get stronger and kill him, and that’s the whole show’s story summarized. other characters follow along and dont have a complex personality, their backstories are all simple and basic and self explan they all want revenge on the villain, villains same as the side characters, no backstory other than killing no complexity basic ass and simple.

Self explan, theres no explanation on which counters this which does that, the power scaling on this is only depicted on how strong their body is and doesn’t display any type of cleverness on how they utilize it, oh but what about tanjiro he utilized water and sun breathing, how can the other hashiras who are stronger than him can’t? Don’t pummel any bullshit like because tanjiro was born and was taught with hinokami obv learning other breathings would be easy. As i said. Power scaling and explanation issues, the fact that the fans have to pull up shit from their ass meanwhile the story got fucking years of writing to explain it did nothing but put forms and say how they work yet not explain which counters what.

I think demon slayer is flawed, but it accomplishes what it's good at very well
it's simple, so many things aren't reslly focused on and can lead to other things not feeling fleshed out enough
but simple characters in itself have benefited the story pretty greatly, like rengoku being a guy we basically just got to know before dying an hour later
nothing particularly deep about him, but his design and simple character makes him easily likable, pretty much applies to any character
It's things like this that make tanjiro work as a protagonist
the visuals are great, yeah, and the visuals are often what got people into the series itself, anime for anything will work as advertisement for the manga
