Like, in this console generation. There is NO excuse to have a mediocre game, especially one that looks bad graphically. All modern hardware (yes, even nintendo hardware) is powerful enough to run high quality visuals. Look at hoyoverse games for example, they always look amazing regardless, even on mobile devices.

Yeah. But you can have all the budget in the world and the game can still just...flop, if it isn't in good hands. Look at the most recent black ops game 😭 They even cut all of the banner artist and used A.I. Just to get crushed by battlefield which had a budget over 200 million dollars less than black ops.
I think this is even more apparent when it comes to movies. Passion, Art direction and management is a million x more important than throwing a bunch of paper at a project.
