I haven't written a single line....but I am working on getting Grafana deployed and I'm actually looking to use VictoriaMetrics and VictoriaLogs with it so that's an interesting evolution. Also wanting to test out using Alloy and shipping logs/metrics/traces to an alloy instance directly instead of using a prom scraping approach.

I mean there's plenty of benefits to it and I've personally use it a couple different places and I've seen it used at many many more. I use the cloud hosted version for free to monitor devices so that that's not dependent on my own server infrastructure but on theirs and it collects logs and metrics from physical computers as well as servers and I like that so I can see when servers are spiking and usage and get alerts around that. The self-hosted version I'm using obviously for myself but to monitor my application so like Discord bots etc. I'm using that so I can collect different logs as well as traces and variety of metrics so kind of like how maukkis

Grafana itself it's just a visualization layer. So pretty much any sort of data you can imagine it can display and graphs charts etc

Server Members Intent is used for welcome/leave messages, autorole, member logs, moderation, anti-raid checks, and user info.

Message Content Intent is used for prefix commands, automod filters, anti-spam, bad word/link detection, and custom triggers.

Presence Intent is only needed if the bot has status/activity based features, like activity roles or online/offline tracking.

So mainly my bot needs Members Intent and Message Content Intent because it has moderation, automod, logs, welcome, and prefix command features.

Even with small file sizes and pre-loaded (cached) background assets, the "Thinking..." state persists for an unusually long time. I have optimized the rendering process to be near-instantaneous on the server side, yet the delivery to Discord's servers seems to be the bottleneck.

​Are there any known API latency issues or rate-limiting factors affecting image uploads via interactions in my bot's region?
​Is there a specific gateway or endpoint optimization I should consider to reduce this "Thinking" time?
​(If sending to hosting support): Is the network egress/upload speed from my server instance being throttled or routed through high-latency paths?

Genuinely, you should consider getting a better host. You’re running on less than 1GB RAM and roughly the equivalent of 1.2 CPU threads. Image generation and processing, even for small JPEGs, can still be pretty CPU-intensive. The delay is likely more related to resource constraints than Discord or the network itself.

Also something to note, some places will use "xx% CPU" in their pricing. This is standard in cloud hosting space and 100% = 1vCPU. So 50% CPU = 0.5 CPU.

Fly.io has the same issue as other hosting services like that where they have the same outgoing shared IP address which is susceptible to getting IP banned temporarily by Discord because multiple people are using the same IP address.

you should report the messages as well
