I got a bunch of questions about the title

1 - are shaders and texture packs client or server side
2 - can i add java shaders and texture packs to the server and still see it
3 - if i can how do i do it and if i cant how do i add bedrock shaders and packs

  1. Client sided
  2. Java resource packs can in theory be converted into a bedrock one, we have the pack converter project for this use case, shaders are not something we plan to convert, it's likely incredibly difficult
  3. You can add bedrock resource packs (which can contain shaders) in the packs directory of Geyser (Typically either /plugins/Geyser-Spigot/packs or /config/Geyser-Fabric/packs to name some examples)

Same location as resource packs, bedrock puts shaders in the resource pack

Well, Java resource packs don't contain shaders so, you can't

oh ok well where do i convert

arctic knot
#

There is PackConverter, it's got a UI and all but, still in the works

worldly horizon
#

and just to be clear i can also convert texture packs right

arctic knot
#

Texture packs are the only thing pack converter will actually convert

worldly horizon
#

ohh ok

but only the UI, the actual conversion shouldn't be buggy

So after i get my files for my shaders and texture packs i just put em in the packs folder and restart the server

arctic knot

yeah pretty much

worldly horizon
#

Alright ty so much and yeah i wanna see the converter

You'll need to download it from a PR (so, requires a GitHub account)

#

I'm really hoping to get this UI out for everyone else soon but, this will have to work

#

and, just to make sure, this texture pack isn't for custom items right? Just modifying vanilla textures
