Just like enderpearls any item can have a cooldown applied to it. On java that cooldown is displayed on the item. Though it is not for bedrock users.

Any chance this could be added?

Meaning the cooldown shown on enderpearls. You can edit other items timers. It just wont show it like it will for java players.
