#Make the ranges when people can attack you (high score) actually balance/fair

Currently i am around the 400s rank and i can be attacked/probe by people ranked 1-400 which is absurd, that is a point difference of about 43 million points.
This isnt about " jUst DoNt mAkeEyourself a target" it is the fact that at such a power imbalance that the stronger player can send, for example 100 cruisers and some cargos (small or large), a very low deut demand and the lower rank player cant defend on a mathematically level, they dont have the resources for research or defences making them easy targets even if they do/play everything right and once the defence have been destroyed it starts a death spiral of need resources to defend but cant build it piece meal and cant save the resources for tech because they are a target.

solutions/suggestions:
every 100 ranks between the 2 people in a attack have the resources gained/lost reduce by 10% or more
restrict/revise who can attack who via score
double/triple honour lost/gained in fighter with a big score difference.

don't keep resources on the planet and make fleet save and that's all you need, everyone should be able to attack anyone, that's what this game is about

you seem to completely miss the point,
don't keep resources on planets- going to assume you mean keep it on a moon, which is more dangerous as a player cant build up defence faster then a planet (due to no nanite on moons) so a higher rank probes and see, lets say 10 mill in a mixture with the best defences a lower rank can muster, distance depending that is a easy hit, there is no scenario in which a lower rank CAN defend because of the time/tech/fleet difference even if a lower rank can/did everything right, simple time and a weighted system towards higher ranks means a lower rank is always at disadvantage

I would like to push back on "should be able to attack anyone" because that is unhealthy for the game in general, if i am rank 200 should i be able to attack rank 500s? i would strongly say no as it is a bad taste in the mouth in the lower rank and most people would quit rather then play a game that is so up hill.

Everything is at the whim of the higher rank player, if a rank 1 want to attack me minus one attack to class as bashing, destroy all my defences (rank 400s) i cant stop them, the best case i can do is vacation mode ie stop playing which is not good for anyone.

at first ogame has never been a farming simulator, only a strategic war game which essence is to attack others

i never said ogame was/wasnt a farming sim or strategic war game i would say it leans more towards sim then anything.
I would like your opinion on this scenario on what the lower rank player should do:
No moons and is fleet saving regularly/safely a top rank 100 player attacks their planets for little gain ( under 3 mil gained) every day the lower rank cant build defences enough to repel attacks could be because of missile or mass cargos with 200%+ attack is enough to win battles.

because to me that is detrimental to the game and needs to be changed in some way, hence the suggestion
